Dear god, Darkly Darkly was so...boring, BLAND! No emotion in the entire album, it just felt so sloppy in a way.

Although the bonus song "Mistress from the sucking pits" was great.

Dude, you make it sound as if Danis vocals were terrible, they weren't bad at all. In fact his screams in this album were extremely aggressive but his growls were weak because its suppose to show the album. For example, you said it yourself Godspeed was a masculine album which is why that album it was vice versa, his growls were strong and his screams were ok. See my dilemma ?

I've always been a big fan of Cradle of Filth, and in my eyes this review was good. Cradle of Filth has evolved from just a Symphonic Black Metal band, and people need to understand that that's what bands do. If they where the same on every album, they'd be fucked. Look at Megadeth. I've enjoyed every album because they've altered their sound...that doesn't mean I enjoy ever song, just that all their albums have been (In my eyes) good. I never really was a fan of Metallica, and never will be.

also, i like the notion that darkly darkly was the feminine answer to godspeed's masculinity.

as a concept though, i preferred godspeed, but i think the new drummer (martin) is really coming into form with this latest release.

I've listened to a few songs and you can tell they on the right track. I'd say perhaps their next record will nail it, if not pretty close. I've listened to them on and off. I even got the massive book he took part in with that Church of Satan guy. Awesome book.

Hoping the music hits us like Dusk... Midian and Cruelty. 6.5 seems pretty good. I'd probably lean towards a 7 but this is your review lol
