  • The commentators really avoided this one. Hardly even any audible concern. horrible crash. I think the last shot pretty much sums up the reality of deaths in mototsport, tragic and depressing.

  • remind me again, what does the crossed arms symbolize?

  • @stampede122 Ambulance/medical help needed.

  • @dsriggs thx

  • @stampede122

It can also mean specifically that the driver is non-responsive. There was a lot of discussion on a previous upload of this crash regarding the meaning. It does not mean the driver is dead, just unconscious.

  • @MrStig66 The arms crossed over the head means that medical attention is required to the car. Does not necessarily mean that he has been knocked out, it's just to let the communicator (who is in contact with race control) know, and a doctor will be sent. Might just mean that the driver (in a couple of cases i've attended) has a broken nose or sprained ankle

  • why do they show him laying on the ground at the end

  • @XxSiiCkXKiilZxX

They did not know at this point that he was dead. I doubt they would do that in Bathurst coverage today, they seem to avoid showing the drivers involved in serious accidents.

  • @MrStig66 oh ok . and was he dead when he was laying there

  • @XxSiiCkXKiilZxX

Yes he was dead at this point

  • @MrStig66 what did they do with him after... they were trying to help him but he was dead soooo

  • I cant believe the race kept going considering the absolute destruction of the car, and the guys working on the bema on the side of the track

  • 1:23 just about sums up the poor man's chances. Not much of that car left - what a tragic thing to happen.

  • @pauliejay yes true. Shame it took a death to highlight how dangerous the old Conrod Straight was before the Chase was put in

  • @MrStig66 Shame it takes a death to highlight how dangerous a lot of things are & for safety features to be added to drivers, cars & tracks
