Dallas has been a devoted artist to Dine Alone Records since Alexisonfire. WHICH IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH ANY OF THE BIG RECORD LABELS IN HOLLYWOOD. This makes him an independent artist, so called, indie artist. It's good that his work has reached to mainstream audience, which shows his music is easily approachable and nice on our ears. But DON'T EVER SAY HE IS A MAINSTREAM. His effort contributed to his work is TOO good to be judged the same as those manufactured pieces of crap
I don't think he'll ever end up on the radio. You actually have to pay to have your music played on the radio. The more money you pay to have it put on, the more they'll play it. Now do you see why things are played OVER and OVER? You pay a butt ton of money for that. I don't see Dallas doing that. But you never know. I hope not, cause I'd rather listen to the song that many times voluntarily.
.... I've never heard them on the radio, but so what if he is. He deserves to be known, and deserves to make lots of money. He is a genius. I want that for him.
I can't wait for the day that I hear this beautiful man on the radio EVERY DAY!!! I've been listening for a YEARS.... and I wish him the best and HOPE he gets put on the radio. He has a gift and it should be shared with the world. Good luck Dallas!!!
there will always be mainstream music, so wouldn't you want THIS kind of music to be the kind everyone listens to? unless you like hearing Lil' Wayne everywhere you go....
i hate my favorite music becoming mainstream. i like it to myself, and the few others that know about it. i feel like when they become popular it just ruins the excitement for me about knowing who they are. i know it helps the artist out a lot and gives them a bigger fan base, but still. but if he did go mainstream, i would be happy for him and his success.. but i don't see it happening anytime soon. he is so amazing though, and i think he'll always be so talented. :)
Oh my god, I hope he never ever ever EeeeVVEeerrRRr goes mainstream, the HORROR! God forbid he starts to accumulate a bunch of fans, become successful, and make more money so he has the ability to create more beautiful music for all of us! That would just be so AWFUL! :(
*** check out my city and colour inspired paintings on Facebook. I have turned over 13 songs into inspired paintings........ look up: Colin Buckingham art *** on Facebook. City and Colour rocks! ***
Been with Dallas from the beginning. He is NOT selling out OR going mainstream. Really? Can you blame people for liking his music? You are all hipster little children.
I most definitely DO care if he goes mainstream. That means all these annoying littlee 7th graders would be like YAAAA CITY AND COLOURR!! when they don't get what the music means.
saw City and Colour in Detroit at The Filmore the day after Black Friday, BEST show i've ever been to. Dallas Green has an amazing voice these men are very talented and i cannot wait to see them again
i really like this song. i met dallas outside a emos in austin on 6th street in austin texas right before an alexisonfire show. I approached him and told him i really respected his new(atthetime) project, city and colour. He proceeded to insult me for interupting his coverstation he was having with some older ppl. I tried to apoligize but he kept insulting me and wondered aloud if all texans were as socially stupid as his friends laughed at me. I'll never forget that, but i still like this song
Dallas' going mainstream has nothing to do with his writing or talent. More often than not, artists become more popular due to their talent and exposure. Dallas did not sell out, he added a freaking drum set and electric guitar. ENough Dallas bashing, grow up and appreciate beautiful music. Neil Young respects him, so should you.
people think artist going mainstream have sold themselves out, NOT atall, means they're very good at what they do have more people want to hear their stuff. Such an ignorant statement!!!
@windowsarecrap mainstream has nothing to do with if they are good. Anyone can get out there..it's all about marketing and publicity and shit. But anyways...Dallas isn't mainstream and I highly doubt he is going to get there. I'm not saying he isn't good, he's actually my favorite artist of all time, but he doesn't care about being ridiculously famous. He just makes his music because it's his passion. Like a real artist should. :)
lol look at me, I like these tunes and I'm hoping he flies to the top of the charts and makes the same music cause I'm not some hipster fuck bitching about what's mainstream or not.
@thatsclasssy But then they can't be pretentious hipster faggots, and that's 90% of the fun of listening to good music! (At least I think that's their mind set)
He has already been mainstream with Alexisonfire.. just cause he's solo now doesn't mean he's gonna just up and change.. Besides even if he does change, every artist changes style.. his earlier shit is nothing like his new stuff but yet its still great. take it for what it is.. music evolves his music is still great.
Check out my city and colour inspired art on Facebook at Colin Buckingham Art. I have done paintings about 13 songs. I gave my sleeping sickness inspired painting to Dallas
who cares if he is "mainstream" stop whining and enjoy the song, you know you can still like music even if it is really popular, not all music has to stay hidden underground, Dallas is smart, he will know what to do once he gets there.
@thatsclasssy he's not yet mainstream, he's doing what he loves, not what we want. and i think we should be proud of that, especially if your Canadian, cause right now he's one of the best artists we've got
@tarutaru01 too late. D: my brother was watching MTV and Fragile Bird came on. For a second I didn't know if I was happy or upset. Lol. the best we can hope for is that he never changes. :]
@joanalarissa Alexisonfire was on MTV since there first album just so you know. Right alonside rappers and pop singers. They managed to brreak the mainstream barrier and i think its amazing.
@tarutaru01 So you're saying he DOESN'T deserve the recognition from the majority of the public? Don't be selfish. The more records he sells the more money he makes, and he deserves every penny.
@tarutaru01 yeah now that he is mainstream, its kindla like being a fan to the underdog, then all of a sudden they win a championship, and now you feel bandwagon!...been listening since helicon blue and AOF.....thumbs up if the love of good music brought you here, not radio!
@thewesterliesband Lil wayne doesnt only rap about bitches and hoes, you have listened to the good songs by him than.. I enjoy and appreciate every type of artist my favourites are lil wayne and dallas green <3 total opposites but we all have those days! :)
@tarutaru01 Why? Because you're so set in your hipster ways, where you'd actually stop listening to, and supporting him, despite his talent? Or you just want to deprive people of actual GOOD music? I JUST don't get it...
@susandanger18 yeah dude he's on the radio in my hometown and my current city in Canada
