I'd say 1985 - 1995. Cobain died in '94, and then Shannon Hoon died in '95 and that was pretty much the end.

Sweet "eyes of stone" so young it doesn't even have the album lyrics! This band had crushing grooves and Ben was a vocal/lyrical genius.
