  • The second top rated comment is retardet. Steroids don't make you big, they make you performe better....so he could be juicing all day long without it being shown on his body.

  • @ArtjomGlad do you think fed is on steroids? cuz i dont

  • who's he practicing with?

  • die schlitzis wieder überall dabei :D

  • Then explain all the grunting when ATP or WTA players swing if it should take less effort. Besides, the key as you guys say is to accelerate through the shot, which takes force. Fast wrist acceleration takes power and strength. Period. Gah i give up.

  • nice...

  • as godly as his tennis was back then, I'm still amazed at how average his torso looked!! There must be some hidden secret in his physique

  • @fbinsulation it's core and leg strength/flexibility.

there is no use of the arms or shoulders for power.

  • @cj397 Power and strength comes from the wrist and shoulders..... a strong lower body and core is crucial to be able to utilize the power of your arm, but the arm is where most of the power comes from.

  • @SPARTAbassist there no actual power as in FORCE APPLIED unto the ball. there is no FORCED push/nor specific muscular effort put into swinging the racket. it's all about being loose and timing.

  • @cj397 Of course there's a forced effort. True most is loose and timing, but the acceleration of the wrist must be forced (this is what causes players like nadal to grunt like dying bulls). Loose but powerful. Tough combination to get just right :).

  • @SPARTAbassist none. the wrist is loosely laid back and with the core/shoulder/torso rotation comes a slingshot-like reaction that fluidly makes contact with the ball. you do not purposely put any energy/force into ANY muscle group or limb

  • @cj397 totally agree. the only thought I have in regards to applying power into a shot is leaning on it or when my feet aren't in position to do that, trying to accelerate through the shot. Never think of hitting harder, think faster. More effort=less power and control.

  • I would destroy this chump. Come down to AZ, and get dealt with.lol

  • ok... something needs to be said about that forehand at 0:42.

I can think of nothing more than "wtf???" Look at that racket head speed and control.

  • Roger is true class, Love Roger :)

  • Oh! God is shirtless!

  • @dodododa

lol, you got the wrong idea. You can do as much cardio as you want. Run 25000 miles a week, whatever. You will never have abs(six pack) unless you do sit ups or work your abdomen muscles in some strenuous fashion.

  • Tennis players work their abs.

  • yeah but not like how we are talking about. they dont do what boxers and football players do, so you wont see chizled abs on most tennis players.

Nadal doesn't even have chizled abs even though he has a ton of muscle.

  • My abs were sore as hell when I first learned top spin. I think these Europeans just don't care about their appearance. Andy Roddick has good abs.

  • Actually, it's quite the opposite. You can't work on the area where you want your muscles to be shown and expect that slab of fat on top of those muscles to just disappear. You need a complete muscle workout routine combined with some sort of cardio. Mind you, depending on the repetitions of the workout you can still get a cardiovascular workout so you could cut out the running, etc..

  • This is all combined with a regulated diet. Not an ''american diet'' where you cut out everything and deprive yourself of delicious goodies. But one where you realize what type of calories you need, i.e. proteins, fats, carbs and eat accordingly. Not trying to be mean, but I don't want you dealing out the wrong info to

dodododa when he/she might be partly right despite the fact that he/she's a jerk!

  • @Fernandez218

Well yeah, the nutrition and cardio helps reduce fat and keep fat off. Eating isn't going to create muscle. It helps but it's not going to make a 6 pack appear on your body.

You still have to go out there and work your ab muscles, no matter what. The most common exercise: Sit-ups.

  • Working your abdominal muscles will make them stronger and perhaps hypertrophy, depending on the exercise, the duration, and the repetitions. There's no doubting that fact. But will it reduce the slab of fat on top of the abdominal muscles? No. That takes a complete body workout.

  • @Fernandez218

lol, I agree with you. But you still have to work your abs if you want them to show like a Ronaldo's, Georges St. Pierre's, and Terrell Owens.

Why do you think X-country runners don't have abdomens that show, yet have 6% bodyfat? No ab work.

  • That's true. You also have to take into consideration what type of weight lifting you want to do. For muscle hypertrophy, which is what everyone here is pretty much talking about (since the muscles don't really show), you would have to lift sub-maximal weights for 10-15 reps and for a certain duration, to, basically, be able to show off superficially.

  • @GreatestCreation909

I beg to differ. X Country runners actually have a pretty strong core (abs and lower back) because they use this a lot to maintain proper posture/form during the run. Especially towards the end when their whole body is fatigued and this is when core fitness becomes most crucial in order to maintain proper form. Without proper form, they become less efficient at their movement which slows them down and uses more energy.

  • @1theabstract1

I'm not saying they aren't strong. I'm talking about when muscle shows. Think Georges St. Pierre.

  • @GreatestCreation909 no.. your abs are allways their. its just cause you have fat you cant see them. sure working out will get you more defined abs, but you can have abs without doing specific exercises on them. everybody has abs

  • that's right

  • He may not look like a chiselled bodybuilder but don't for a moment think that he isn't a good athlete. His level of flexibility and endurance are world class

  • the guys with the larger bodies are always injuried because their one dimentional

  • the greatest player ever looks puny and pasty...he should keep his shirt on...always.

  • goes to show you tennis is not all about muscles, it's about racket head speed and technique. And of course court sense brilliance in Roger's case.

  • i think rogers a great tennis player and has a pretty good body but guys dont get carryed away guys, u can see his love handles......

  • what a nice slice

  • except chinese sound itz a good vid

  • He is the best! I love him truly...

He is beautiful, he is not as muscled as others, but he is SO beautiful, look at his body!

  • If I didn't follow tennis, I would have no idea he was the best player based on seeing him shirtless.

  • what r u argueing about ??

    the title

look at the bigger pic ....FEDERER hot body

  • Practise - Verb (action) - As in Roger will practise before the final

Practice - Noun (thing) - Roger's practice took place the day before the final

  • what the hell, im British and i have never spelt practice with an s instead of a c

  • yeah. it's a british spelling of practice. moron!

  • It can be spelled either way.

  • do you seriously not know how to spell practice????

  • man he looks sharp here

  • yeah who is he playing ?

  • if i was there, i wud've LITERALLY fainted.

  • hehe good narrator...

  • Is that all the zoom you had on your camera? :P

God, Roger's not particularly shy here, is he? ^^

  • lol your user name is douche lol HAHAHAH

  • it's deutsche, asshole, it doesn't even have an o.

  • haha i love roger, but the other guy is kind of good u know:p

  • Hi, great vid, do you recall who he was playing with?

  • Can SunSigil please explain to everyone a situation in which, during a tennis match, Roger Federer would need to stop, walk off the court, and start doing dips?

  • MMmmmm qué bueno!

  • those saying he should put his shirt back on have no idea of how insanely fit this guy is ..tennis is as gruling a sport as you will find and federer doesn't even break a sweat in most matches ..his leg and core strengh, cardio, flexibility, speed, balance, and muscular endurance are at the elite of the elite level

  • Agreed. Whichever idiot said that has never played tennis at any serious level or he would know that the majority of player have more developed muscles on the forehand side. Plus, he is amazing, hardly breaks a sweat in the most ugly, god-awful humid conditions.

  • his legz are pefrect,.. not that i am gay, but his legz muscules ,are sick!

  • Mine r bigr an jooseeer. U wanna tri mee on?

  • @shelby8526 you know some people sweat less right?

  • @shelby8526 tru dat

  • @shelby8526 He's still fat.

  • firstly the word is Disfigured and secondly for someone whos "muscularly unbalanced" he sure moves well doesn't he! Hes a tennis player not a potential candidate for Mr Olympia.

  • yes but he can play 3-5 hour tennis matches on a regular basis plus practice. You couldn't play a 5 set tennis match with any atp level player so stop replying to my comments and get a life.

  • SunSigil i am sad that there are people like you around. You should be less bashful. "bitch"

  • he scares away ugly people like you

  • lol ure the one obsessed with his looks

  • His Majesty the SexGod of Tennis...

ever so charming and sexy Roger

  • OK, I better see him practicing like this when I go to the Australian Open next year. ;)

  • im voying for him to play like this all the time

  • Me too...He needs to play shirtless more often. ;)

  • cool little slice at 0:12..

  • sexy roger!

  • shirtless = more evidence he doesn't use steroids

  • Why is Federer shirtless?

  • practice!

  • Maybe he wanted to give us ladies a present. :)

  • play tennis you'll understand.

  • I'm a 5.5 level player and run an athletic club, so I know how to play. I just thought it was a bit weird at first. When you're the greatest player in the world, you can do whatever you want I guess.

  • why do i find that to be complete bullshit?

  • Because you're dumb?

  • or because your a liar?

  • There's really no way I can prove my claims (I'm not going to put my name or USRA number on the internet) so you can believe what you want. Peace out :)

  • you run an athletic club and your 18...bullshitt..or maybe u didnt put an age..where u live?

  • ps: sampras is the best!

  • the guy giving federer tennis balls is his ``hired hitting partner´´, I didn´t know that until recently actually! he can hire me any day!

  • Am I wrong for getting hot over this? :D

  • Someone asked this already but, who is he practising with? And is the guy who's giving Federer the balls anybody? And why is Roger half naked?

  • LOL..why? because he's a "hot-shot!"

  • God made Roger Federer. :)

  • OMG! DAVID HASSELHOFF

  • who is the cute girl in the hat?

  • He should play like this always.
