It's more the fact that people consider them to be good, or even black metal, (or used to be black metal, whatever). And I've seen videos, and what not, of people trying to compare them. To me: They would never be able to top Dimmu Borgir. Just my opinion.

well i would say yes it's a bit softer version of blackmetal, it's not as chaotic as black metal is. Also it's very common that there is an orchestra playing alongside other instruments. The music focuses more on atmosphere and is sometimes pretty slow like doom metal. Basically black metal and doom metal combined but with poetic dark lyrics

It's more the fact that people consider them to be good, or even black metal, (or used to be black metal, whatever). And I've seen videos, and what not, of people trying to compare them. To me: They would never be able to top Dimmu Borgir. Just my opinion.

I'll admit there not black metal yeah, and their latest stuff is kind of shit, at the present dimmu far out powers them yeah. If some people consider them to be good now then w.e, they did some alright stuff a few years ago before they went all crap, hell I like some of their older stuff. about the comparison I dont believe a comparison if possible, you should have ago at the people comparing them if you ask me, there completely different. dimmu's far more agressive

CoF is extreme gothic metal. A big deal is made about their genre because they WERE black metal about 17 years ago. They're not anymore, nor do they or any of their educated fans claim they are.

well i would say yes it's a bit softer version of blackmetal, it's not as chaotic as black metal is. Also it's very common that there is an orchestra playing alongside other instruments. The music focuses more on atmosphere and is sometimes pretty slow like doom metal. Basically black metal and doom metal combined but with poetic dark lyrics

...Dude, not even. I did listen to some of the songs, and I still can't agree that they sound like Dimmu. The songs on Godspeed blah blah blah still don't even sound as strong and dark as Dimmu's. And one of their songs on there is named "Shat Out of Hell"? Lame and tasteless. Unlike Dimmu, CoF is gay.
And you don't have a reason for lashing out at me, calling me a "stupid Asso". After all, I didn't say anything about the fans, just the band ;)

Please, send me a song by CoF that sounds like one or more of the songs on this album. I honestly would like to hear it (no sarcasm). I've listened to a few CoF songs, enjoyed some even; but I still hate their singer, Dani... Also, the music I've heard from Cradle doesn't sound as clean and/or powerful as Dimmu, which is why I overstate my feelings toward CoF, especially since people compare them.
