Rudel was a high scoring attack pilot, Gunther Prien a U-Boat ace, etc.. As far as the numbers of aircraft shot down by German pilots go, only during the last months of the war were the majority of combats over Germany proper. The massive number of Allied a/c engaged, and the "Fly til dead or disabled" circumstances created the 'inflated' scores of the Axis.

Most Luftwaffe pilots were just career military officiers who loved their country and went to war for the same reason American, British and russian career officiers went to war. Love of Country, People, and Comrades in Arms.
While still good combat pilots, they were not in the same league as Dick Bong, Greg Boyington, Gabby Gabrieski, or "Butch" Voris who founded the US Navy Blue Angels.
Those were combat pilots who flew against other fighter pilots. Most of the German aces had combat kills against bombers... Head to head against real combat pilots, I think that the Germans would fall short of the measure...
Excuse me ... do a little bit more research before making such a comment! Add up all the kills of the four guys you named and compare that number to the kills Erich Hartmann alone had. He had twice as many!

And while you are at it ... look up the tactics and arming of the allied bomber units. They were always accompanied by fighters as well and not just "easy prey" for the Germans. The early Luftwaffe Pilots were very well trained and gathered a lot of experience during WWII so don't tell us that YOUR guys were the only "real" combat pilots of that time.

In fact until late 1943-early 44 when the P-51D came in service many were the bombing runs where their Friendly escorts had to turn back because of fuel restrictions 3/4 or 1/2 or less through the bomb mission. That is when the Luftwaffe pilots would then "Jump" the bomber formations. Look up your history. I know mine from my Bombdier Uncle.

I would because if you got the money its not only you get something but help others who depend on signings for extra cash to help their lives. After the war basically most Germans had to start from scratch financially. So not only are you getting two autographs but because these men are getting older the rarer it will get. So I would do it if you have the money if your tight on money then I would pass.
Also, from what I found was Rolf Ebhardt was lieutenant and had 8 aerial victories.
Karl-Friedtich Schlosstein also ended up with 8 aerial victories to his credit. So from the looks of what I saw on them they must been of came into the war later on.

I continue.Germany was not alone.Japan,Italy,Romania,Bulgaria and more were part of their alliance.What 26 countries did the US force to fight with them?German pilots were in fact skilled and had great machines,but they fought for an evil government.They too bombed civilians,they just lacked strategic bombers so they could not do as much damage.It was not for lack of trying.
The bombing of Dresden was a war crime.I have no doubt of that.Many in the American Air Corps were against it.

The numbers for German aces were inflated by fighting against inferior Russian planes and pilots early in the war.That,plus most of them did their fighting over Germany,so when they got shot down,they simply remounted .

Rudel was a high scoring attack pilot, Gunther Prien a U-Boat ace, etc.. As far as the numbers of aircraft shot down by German pilots go, only during the last months of the war were the majority of combats over Germany proper. The massive number of Allied a/c engaged, and the "Fly til dead or disabled" circumstances created the 'inflated' scores of the Axis.

In 1943 Churchill cancelled all attempts to kill Hitler. They realized that the greatest opponent to the german forces was Hitler himself. Hitler made such bad decisions as a commander, that he has the best help possible.
He destroyed a complete army at Stalingrad. No winter equipment to the army. No supplies, even the generals begged for "wiser" leadership.

Most Luftwaffe pilots were just career military officiers who loved their country and went to war for the same reason American, British and russian career officiers went to war. While still good combat pilots, they were not in the same league as Dick Bong, Greg Boyington, Gabby Gabrieski, or "Butch" Voris who founded the US Navy Blue Angels.
Those were combat pilots who flew against other fighter pilots. Most of the German aces had combat kills against bombers... Head to head against real combat pilots, I think that the Germans would fall short of the measure...

Let me know once you find just one single pilot from America with the same credits.
And while you are at it ... look up the tactics and arming of the allied bomber units. They were always accompanied by fighters as well and not just "easy prey" for the Germans. The early Luftwaffe Pilots were very well trained and gathered a lot of experience during WWII so don't tell us that YOUR guys were the only "real" combat pilots of that time.

In fact until late 1943-early 44 when the P-51D came in service many were the bombing runs where their Friendly escorts had to turn back because of fuel restrictions 3/4 or 1/2 or less through the bomb mission. That is when the Luftwaffe pilots would then "Jump" the bomber formations. Look up your history. I know mine from my Bombdier Uncle.

And almost in Africa there were no heavy bombers on duty. Almost flown in dogfights and in escort missions for axis bombers. Undeafeted in air combat died by an engine damage ´cause ejecton seats didn´t exist this time.Btw Only 1.400 of 28.000 german fighter pilots survived the war. 95% died. Bravest men ever !!!

event though some of these men didnt have the same beliefs as us, they still desrve recognition because they fought for their country just as everyone else did luftwaffe pilots certainly were of a different breed of man they truy were amazing pilots (many pilots in the luftwaffe pilots were not nazi)

People its history and many German Pilots were very good people. Adolf Galland is prime example of someone who you could listen to forever. He was one of the most charismatic person I ever saw in interviews on. When people come on only to say what Nazis did you going to blame the Luftwaffe fighter pilots and even bombers when its war. This is not kids stuff its war and WW2 saw many tragedies. When you say damn nazis does not affect majority since many fought for their friends and families.

I would because if you got the money its not only you get something but help others who depend on signings for extra cash to help their lives. After the war basically most Germans had to start from scratch financially. So not only are you getting two autographs but because these men are getting older the rarer it will get. So I would do it if you have the money if your tight on money then I would pass.

Also, from what I found was Rolf Ebhardt was lieutenant and had 8 aerial victories.
Karl-Friedtich Schlosstein also ended up with 8 aerial victories to his credit. So from the looks of what I saw on them they must been of came into the war later on.
