i dont think it matters much weather you cross them or stack them.. knee bars are the most painful and career ending injury out there.. better to tap soon as you feel that shit applied.
I dont like the fact the bloke is sticking his feet in your face, Gay, I dont mind some hot bird sticking her feet in my face, I will give them a good suck.
yea it makes you look gay when a 280 pound guy attacks you and you end up breaking his knee and he screams like a little bitch if you can't tell it's sarcasm
@stuylocster dude ur so ignorant and dumb becuase u become eroused when near a dude doesn't mean other guys do. I'd much rather choke a dude out than take the chance and have his blood alll over me not knowing if this guy has some sorta disease. and u knock a guy out he might havea sore face for a week or so u break a mother fuckers shit off he could be fucked for like 6 months maybe longer some times shorter
the person would have to str8n out and roll, granted rolling does work in some cases, but against a verteran grappler, who knows things aren't so smooth will hold a position untill they can preform the break, I have seen it go both ways, rolling serveral times and still getting submitted, rolling out a couples times in a match and still getting knee bar'd, in my opinion rolling is too risky giving to much to chance, unless u feel the opponents grip isn't so good and you only got split seconds
I didn't get that neither. It's a good thing to do that (compared to crossing your feet)when you do an ARMbar , because then it's easier to control both his arms between your legs and still pinch your knees together. I find no use for it in a kneebar though, since you only need to have one of his legs between your legs. Better to cross your feet, or triangle them.
it was a knee bar. techniques are not always going to look as perfect and tight under competition as when drilling against an opponent whom is not resisting.
brock would also have been more inclined to tap as mir has a reputation of damaging people with submissions.
if any thing it looked like a toe hold variation but it wasn't.he wouldn't have enough leverage to execute a break just put strain on the heel. it was the kneebar, mir was just securing the foot so lesnar couldn't roll out
@bigbootyfiend It is a kneebar when it was completed. When Lesnar pushed away, the figure-four positioning of Mir's legs got tighter, isolating the leg. It gradually turned the toe hold (which can be reversed in that position) into a kneebar (which is harder to escape in that position). That popular image of Mir kneebarring Lesnar is actually the process of getting the kneebar, not the kneebar itself, when the photo was taken.
yeah I was a bit impressed with brock's positioning on the ground, his punches didn't look all that great needs work. and he needs to kno his pase. If the rounds went any longer I don't think he woulda survived to long.
P.S. I don't think it was a knee bar that mir sumbmitted him with either, I noticed that mir was kinda high up on the knee and when they showed the footage from the other side (mir front) I noticed mir had brocks foot in a foot lock which I think was the submission
stacking also gives a lil better leverage and the crossing the feet still plays a disadvantage on trying to maintain the postion if there is a bit of a scramble
lil things but in grappling it's always the lil things that makes the big picture...
I know you don't wanna do that when doing an armbar, because his far arm can get wedged between your shins and loosen your control of his near arm, but with a kneebar that shouldn't make any difference.
I like the "stacking" of the feet, while doing the armbar though.
It allows you to lock your feet together pretty good and still have tight control of his arms.
i dont think it matters much weather you cross them or stack them.. knee bars are the most painful and career ending injury out there.. better to tap soon as you feel that shit applied.

Why does he stack instead of cross his feet? I thought he had to push the other leg away.

@DukeofDominance cause crossing can take away from leverage i guess

Question:
once down, how do you keep the guy from twisting to his left (lessoning the hold)
riegirrl 3 years ago
I'm not sure exactly what you mean. If you meant twisting so that he's perpendicular to Frank Shamrock that doesn't lessen the pressure at all.
If you meant twisting onto his belly, very hard to do from this position and still wouldn't do much to lessen the pressure.
Moving towards Frank is just going to make things more uncomfortable.
Robopencil 3 years ago
ok, once frank applies the lock on the left leg the guy can shift his torso lower and kick his right leg over
ive seen this happen as a counter as the knee bar is applied
its not a great counter (as the leg is still locked) but its helps
just wondering how to prevent it

nah it was a knee bar he just didnt have it in 100% brocks legs are not as strong as his upperbody.

You can't compare Mir striking with everyone elses in that division. Brock needs to tighten up on his jiu jitsu big time.
