It's so delicious! I just bought it today. I read that the sweet taste comes from the milk sugar being caramalized. They also have a softer version and it is close to dulce de leche.
I love that stuff, and you are right it is hard to find, I live in LA county and the only place i've ever bought it was in Solvang near Santa Barbara. It looks kind of gross but it really is good. I think it tastes kind of like peanut butter with a sharp cheddar after taste. It's interesting you say it tastes like candy because what they do is they take the whey and caramelize it.
the reason as to why it tastes like it does is because when they heat up the whey, milk and cream the sugars in the whey caramelises and goes sweet,, :)
This cheese is awesome on a rye cracker with some lingonberry preserves on top. I didn't think the preserves would be that good, but it really plays well with the cheese, and the bitterness of the rye cracker brings the sweetness down just a bit.
You should be able to find that cheese easily over there in Europe since that's where it is made. Hold it, is Norway really part of Europe. Just kidding...
LMAO. If I listen deep into myself, I believe being caught vlogging is almost as embarrassing like being caught doing "it" (see the "Seinfeld" episode "The Contest" for what I could mean by "it"). ;)
Whatever: Great to see a lifesign from you. Is this the week of the lifesigns as even xLluviax posted a vlog after ages and ages? :)
BTW - what I wanted to say since quite a long time, but of course meant in a perfectly unambiguous way: You've got beautiful daughters there. Way to go!
Thank you, nice to hear from you. Yes, it seems like I get 'caught' a lot, but am just too lazy to remove it in the edit phase. I don't even have an edit phase.
Thanks for the review. Very interesting. I think Jenna should try out some of that cheese... she will love it!

Gjeitost, or brunost (brown cheese) as we also call it, is simply the best. Love it!

if you really want to taste a real norwegian chesse try gamalost( old cheese)
that will put hair on your balls.
you can also buy real geitost or brunost as its called here in norway from the tine company online just search for tine brunost on google
tommysid 3 years ago
it indeed pronounced yeytost.
But it is written Geitost.
And that is one of my favourites.
But i reommend the norwegian-made geitost made by the milk products company Tine.

This is the most pure form of vlogging, I prefer this as well. Anyway I usually cut out stammering which occurs now and then.
... No complaints about your videos: I like to watch them as solid, unedited clips from start to end.
