Steve Martin really almost nailed the Jackson dance steps. Look at how well he does and he's joking! And he does it with so much grace and make the dancing look effortless! My God, think what Steve could have donw with this skit had he been dead serious! He is one the the greatest talents ever. Malik Jubal
Very funny. Just when you thought Steve Martin had done everything and anything ("Happy feet", "King Tut", "The Great Flydini"), he does this: A knock-off of Michael Jackson. When was the original airdate for this? Amusing how the audience claps-just as what the other audience did for MJ (for "Billie Jean") on the Motown 25th anniversary show.
LOL this is very funny! I almost peed my pants laughing when some of the sidewalk squares wouldn't light up and he was stomping on them trying to get them to work! XD
This was not from SNL. This was from a short-lived show that Steve put together in the early 1980s called "The New Show". I don't think it made it past it's pilot run (6-8 episodes).
After seeing that vid a few days ago, I have to say this is one of my favorite Michael Jackson parodies of all-time. Steve Martin did a great job at poking fun at the king of pop and his famous vid.
Dave Thomas isn't too shabby either as the Mystery Man.
aaaw hell naw they filmed me again!! :D

Whenever my husband and I hear a song where you can't understand the lyrics, we turn to each other and say, "The CHAIR is not my son?" Thanks Steve.

@EricandDish If this was from "The New Show", it would have been 1984.

I remember when I first saw this. I was about three months pregnant with my son, sick as a dog, tired from working all day and lying on the sofa.
I thought I was going to fall OFF the sofa laughing watching this.
TCall2004 1 year ago
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! Martin was more making fun of his own bad dancing than anything else!
