Classic battle right here! I always laugh at how dumb some of the new generation is. Some of the comments on here are unreal, seriously. Personally, I can care less if someone wears a helmet, a beanie, wristbands, wrist guards, kneepads, or whatever. If that person has that much skill and uses the following, who cares what they use? Back in these days, they used to break without shoes as well. What did dumbasses say about that? It's cheating. WOW, just WOW! Big ups to the ones with knowledge
Extremely dope battle! Anyone happen know who was the powerhead from Style Elements rocking second last in this clip? Doing double/triple halo before Jazzy-J comes out at the very end of this clip?
@jcesarrivas1 Nope, i know super dave and he had black beanie in this battle. Im talking about the guy that has red-blua beanie and throughs down after Wicket and before Jazzy-J at the end of this clip.
So ivan ran with Style Elements huh? That's a fun fact that i didn't know.. But who were all the members of both Renegades and Style Elements from around this time?
The most underappreciated element of this battle is the crowd. They were alive man. You can't get a crowd like this in the U.S. today even if you paid them because this art is no longer sacred. Everyone acts like they've seen it all.
@frogslife1 Hey fellows this is LilCesar from AFC. Ozrock gave me the first Helmet in 1984. I started practicing and practicing. at first it was uncomfortable it was a weir feeling then I find out that it was a better material to spin better then a beanie or my bare head. I started noticing that I was loosing my hair and I had a crazy ball-spot. some people say i was cheating but when they tried it. they realize it wasn't easy. is not about cheating is about a choice and being smart.
I miss these days. Some peeps complain of helmets... Dont matter. Protect ur dome. Big UPS to thee days and BIG UPS to the days when BBOYING first came around. It was so fun. Still is but not like this.
@pberrios0223 that bboy ivan urban action figure, the best at that time.he would take on a hole crew when he was at his prime, nobody could hang with ivan.
damn! that was hot, look at ivan and that kid with the crotch-halos. this looks fresh compared to all the new school stuff i see for some reason. probably because my generation seems to have no flow when they dance lol.
what happen to that part when tommy boy battled the popper from Renegades? That was my favorite part and they cut it out. it was after the crumbs and j rawk set.
Some good stuff in this video. Its epic to me. The kid with the helmet in all black. And the dude with the head band thats about to set it off. He looks familiar like he taught muay thai at house of champions. Much love to lil caesar, he`s in the book of b-boys.
Bboy Ivan rocking out to one of his favorite tunes. The Mexican. Gotta love that guy. He was pure energy and didn't count his foot steps like the rest. He really let the music move him.
lol at the guy who just plops himself in the middle of the floor at the end haha. I think that guy with the white head band was the best. Very clean and professional.
yo i need some help on a clip from a radiotron vhs i had. i know right after a scene with africa bam bata is shows a b boy in black addidas jump sute hitting windmills to halos , ther is a sick violin trak in the back ground any one know what im talking about. /??i want the vol # or song title. thanks.
I loved breakin back then, this was the battle that really got me started practicing back in 2000. Back then everybody knew that power blow-ups were the sh*t, no questions asked, now days u got all kinds of bullshit rules about people doing only footwork, making it boring, when people all over the world were getting inspired by people like Ivan and Wicket, props and big ups to the old scene, peace, JIMMY
I guarantee you if you took a bboy, a tap dancer, and a ballet dancer, the bboy would amaze the hell out of whoever the hell was watching, long live the bboy!
He would be legendary B-Boy Ivan. :) Not to sound like im hanging from the dude's nuts, but that guy was amazing on the dance floor. No one out there like him. He's a dancer. Hands down.
This was the first video I ever owned that inspired me to start doing power moves Jazzy j,Wicked,Super Dave, and Ivan where some of the hardest power heads of there days this actually is not all the footage I have the original footage the battle actually does not start like this but anyways much props to the Renegades and Style Elements.
the last radiotron they had my crew went up there POSE and my homie vibe battle boxy d the og west cost beatbox champ and he got ran over by my homie vibe to see his latest videos go to exelent beatbox spelled exactly like that by the way wer is that beatbox battle footage??????
I think its fitting that my first youtube comment is for the first show hip hop show that i've ever went to. This is the show that definately started it ALL for me.
