Helpful so far, but I amk stuck on step three. I have put the ipod touch into DFU mode, where in I pressed "start prejailbreak." In the log above the icon, it first states "ipod placed into recovery mode, applying patch...", but then it states "ipod connected in DFU mode, press Start Pre-Jailbreak". I solved that issue I was having, firstly I re-installed libusb then restarted pc and it didn't have any effect. So I just done the process for entering the DFU mode and it worked it was perfect again. Thanks again. triple post yay!

This worked perfect for my 2g 2.2.1 no problems except when I installed a some dock program off cydia it rebooted and got stuck on the black apple screen.

if your on a laptop you are fine but if not and you install libusb incorrectly then you could lose function of your usb ports (including your mouse) usually XP computers wont have that problem tho its mostly vista 32 bit

This is for 2.2.1 if your iPod isn't 2.2.1 then you'll need to get it to that firmware. Doing this does basically the same thing that restoring your iPod does and it clears everything off and then will put everything except app data back on

Well LibUSB changes the properties of the USB ports so there is a chance if your on a laptop you have nothing to worry about but if your on 32 bit vista and its a desktop then watch my other video on how to install LibUSB and you will be fine.

Try putting it into DFU mode different ways also recovery mode will work if you can get it into one of those modes you'll be able to restore it and start again. Your iPod's fine you just need to try a couple of times.
