  • Nice and honest review! I am thinking about this car for my first car. How is it in size? Can you fit 4 tall adults into it and is there a lot of head room. Also is it nippy around town?

  • @mjhart123 I am 6ft 3" and i have never had a problem getting in and out, there is a lot of room in the back, even for me!

Although it is a 1.2, it's still quite nippy around town. On the motorway however.......it's not quite as good, poor fuel economy and difficult to keep it at speed.

In my 3 years of ownership I have NO complaints at all about it!

  • @TBS30STM Cool, thanks. I am going down the Volkswagen dealership tomorrow to perhaps buy one. I am also looking at the fiesta and corsa too :D

  • I hate my fox, it is the shittest thing in my life (fox 1.2)

  • @mikerbessy how much do you whant for it

  • Thanks for the review, ive always liked the VW fox since its launch! I might be getting a second hand Fox for Uni because my old Mini Mayfair isnt very reliable at the moment, although its fabulous to drive! Have you had any issues with the car since you bought it?

  • My parents are buying me a fox as it'll be my first car and i cant wait.

also i couldn't help but notice but it that gloucester your driving round?

  • @beccaroo902 it is indeed!

    Are you from Gloucester?

  • @TBS30STM Ha! Yes I am, I knew those roads looked familiar.

  • @beccaroo902 Lol small world!

I drove from St Oswalds retail park through Hempstead and then to Quedgeley.

  • Great Video thanks. I just got a 1.4 Urban and on that spec it now comes with electric windows, extendable boot space and rear windows you can open. No Alloys but you do get a 12 volt charger space!

  • @paperback1966 Nice!

    Thanks for the feedback!

Im filming a new video of the Fox this weekend after i upload the review i just did on a 1.2 Polo, you will see how these cars are different.

    Thanks for watching!

  • They also gave us 3 yrs free service but nothing rattles or anything - it`s built like a tank! I think it does about 45-50MPG. We didn`t go for the `Urban` but they gave us colour coded bumpers anyway. I agree that the extra money for the Urban is a bit pointless.

  • yeah i got the 3 years free servicing too and i have had no problems so far, i think i may go for VW next too, its a brilliant car, handles well, good on fuel, well built, comfortable and very reliable =]

    thanks for the feedback!

  • Thanks for this - good video. We`ve had ours 2 years and we got a really good deal about £6200 new (this was pre-scrappage thing as well) - I don`t think I could do better for a new car. My fiancee and daughter often use it and I know they are safe and won`t ever break down although I know that it isn`t exactly a beast. It`s my first VW and the service and quality is the best I have ever had. I will certainly buy another VW, maybe a Golf next time.

  • Hey mate, i just bought this car have to wait for my colour though. So excited. Could you answer couple of questions for me please...

    Are the lights automatic?

How much does it cost to fill tank?

    Thanks Mate

    Craig.

  • Hi Craig,

The lights arent automatic unfortunately, and i cant remember exactly how much it takes to fill the tank, i think its somewhere around the £30-£40 mark

i usually put £10 in and that will last me going to and from work everyday for a week so its good on fuel

hope that helped and enjoy the car!

    Rob

  • lol cool. still looking forward to getting although it is a little low spec.

  • low spec?

lol i thought that until i reviewed the new Ford Focus........my sister's Honda Jazz is better equipped and the Ford costs nearly £20,000

im still editing the video for the focus, you should watch it when i upload it lol

then you will see what i mean by low spec =]

  • not a bad little car for £7,430 which is what they are now less £2k scrappage so £5,430 for a brand new vw good as long as you dont add any extras I would go for a fiat panda myself much better car.

  • saxos are stupid rude boy cars! also stupidly unreliable compare to german precision!

  • finally another normal person =]

thanks for the sub too, i should hopefully be doing a video of my dad's Civic tomorrow because he is swapping it on tuesday lol

  • good video, apart from the 0-62 which is only a few seconds slower than my 1.4 polo might consider buying one too considering lower insurance and economy also size!

  • why not get a saxo lmao looks shit

  • because 90% of people who buy saxo's have a brain the size of a pea and have the collective IQ of a dead Cod

and the insurance for a saxo was about £400-800 more expensive

and they are old and a pile of shite

so i did the intellectual thing and bought a brand new car which has cheap insurance, good fuel economy, reliability and 3 years free servicing.

    work it out genius

  • haha lmao 0-60 ? hmm

  • 0-60 travelling to and from work every day matters how?

so you would rather buy a car which is more expensive to insure, more expensive to run, more un-reliable, no free servicing, just because its slightly faster to 60mph?

I don't own a Saxo because I don't have a council house to park it outside, and because I don't have to queue for my 'benefit' payments in order to buy a crate of carlsberg and sit on my rusty washing machine in my front garden with 'ma homies' stabbing innocent people.

  • omg just admit ur car is shit uno u wished u dident buy it and btw i live in a paid for house and i do not drive a vw and wen u say ma homies satbin innocent peopla ya sound like a fuking fagart get a life u sunday driver

  • because those are the kind of low life, working class, bone-idle, benefit thieving un-educated SCUM that buy saxo's

and that is not me.........and judging by the kind of comments that you write on other people's videos......you fit the criteria of owning a saxo a little too well.

  • fuk u u little ponse

  • Please, if you are going to make a point, learn to speak english first......

and that links right back to my point about you fitting the Saxo owning criteria too well, i had to read your sad sorry excuse of an insult more than once to understand it.

Go back to your colouring book you sad little twat.

  • @TBS30STM

If you did the"intellectual" thing you would have bought an aygo, cheap to insure, faster than this heap, 3 years free servicing and £35 to tax. And I Don't Appreciate your working class comment, to be honest, i come from a working class family, and still regard myself working class, and i have a 09 Yaris SR 1.8, and no, i don't que for benefits, i work for The DFID (Department For International Development) Probably More than you've ever done.

  • @dabwire You may have come from a working class family, but that comment was not aimed at you.

So no offence was meant to you or anyone else apart from him, I can quite clearly see you are nothing like him....for example you can speak English.

And saying that working for the DFID is more than I have ever done....you know nothing about me or what I do for a living.

Just read the comments he left me and you will understand.....I hope.

  • Hey mate,

That CD you were playing, was a burnt one? Will the Fox even play burnt CD's? I've got to hire one in Germany next year.

    cheers

  • no it wasnt a burn't CD

i dont know if it will play them because i havent tried lol

  • unfortunately my parents have to sell their megane CC because it is a load of bollocks in terms of reliability, so they would like to know if they should get one of these for £4,795 '06 plate??(Megane will reach about £5-6000 part exchange)

  • This is a good video to watch i do own a vw fox urban from, new ive being driving over a year now, picked up on the good and bad points, but just a word of advice i belive you was going around the roundabout at about 40 i think with no revs, i belive that is where you are getting hardley and control because u free wheeling (or Rolling),,,,, but good video

  • This in my opion is the best Super Mini car review whilst driving Alot BETTER than proffesinals GREAT JOB

    5/5

  • thanks a lot man =]

there are a few things i missed out on, like great grip and handling but i was concentrating too much lol

    thanks again

  • Hey love yor Fox> I own a mark 1 golf gti. but am starting uni and need a ecomonical and realiable car. I cant afford a new car so am driving a polo 6n. A very good car the Fox well its german :-)

  • I'm hopefully getting my new Fox next week with the scrappage scheme!

I had to get the showroom display model because the guy was telling me it could take 6 months to get a new one in.

How long did it take to order yours in?

  • mine was the showroom car too =]

i was told the same thing too, a long wait for a new one, and the one in the showroom had everything i wanted so i got that one

i had to get the alloy wheels separately

good luck and enjoy the car =]

    its good ;)

  • ah right. well, the one i got was a bit more expensive that what I wanted really; it has the alloy wheels, air con and the winter pack... but it's worked out that I can afford it so I went for it.

  • i didnt go for air con lol, and i do and i dont regret it,

i will in the summer.....but then again i saved £2000

i currently pay £146 a month for it, what will you pay?

  • It's going to be £196 a month. Air Con added £1000 onto the price now rather than £2000.

I looked at the lower end Polo, but this Fox with the extras was cheaper than a basic Polo with no extras (and no air con) .

To be honest, I didn't want air con because I have the heat on in my car more than I have the cool air. I like a warm car I suppose haha.

  • yeah lol

i will be warm in the summer without aircon but ahh well, saves me money ;)

i dont get why the Polo is more money considering you can get the same engine its and no extras its stupid

  • I LOVE this video. It makes me feel relaxed =)

I'm looking forward to buying my own fox...

  • thanks man enjoy the car =]

  • i think this is a very respectable video.

    it is easy to understand.

and you get all the info you want :)

    thankyou.

  • thanks man i appreciate that =]

there were some minor cons i forgot to add like, little things not working sometimes

atm my rear screen washer isnt working but im gettting that done soon =]

    thanks again man

  • may i just ask not to be nosey but did you pass late or are you just a really lucky teenager!!!!

  • i passed in August 2008, before i was 18

lol im not THAT lucky cos i have to pay for it myself every month =]

  • I get mine on thursday :) Fox 1.2 Urban. First car too but i only pay £112.05 a month i got mine in reflex silver . can wait thanks for the review i couldnt find any others.

  • yeah i think mine is £150 becuase i got the alloy wheels with it, but its a nice car!

thanks for watching and enjoy the car :D

  • nice vid, thats a nice car for ur first car usally people get like an old civic or cavalier or something small..., what color is ur car?, i think u need gas soon, lol

  • yeah i need some fuel lol, but what is left will probs last me 2-3 weeks

my colour is dark bluey grey

    its quite nice =]
