@lFuckYouX I wouldn't call Present Trunks "better". Present Trunks was a total brat and kind of selfish as a kid (let's not talk about GT). Future Trunks the complete opposite being selfless and very polite. Selfless and polite aren't words I would associate with the very self-centered and short tempered Bulma. Still Future Trunks did have a Vegeta mean streak in him when he was up against Freeza and King Cold. Look at the epic smirks he gave them knowing he was going to blast them apart.

@scarecrowOmicron Toriyama was asked this by a Japanese fan and explained he had not thought that far ahead for Future Trunks since that Trunks' story ended with the Cell saga. However, the official answer he gave in Daizenshuu 7 is that Babidi skipped Earth because there wasn't enough energy on it to steal from (only tens of thousands humans left thank to the Androids) and took Buu somewhere else.

Even though he was slightly stronger than Goku at the time, Goku could still probably beat trunks. Goku is way more experienced as a fighter and knows more "tricks" and so does Vegeta...If you notice when Goku fights freeza as SSJ he counter attacks freezas energy blasts by making them disappear in thin air, he does the same thing when he fights majin vegeta and when he fought kid buu...trunks is bad but Goku is just more experienced

@054martinm Toriyama never mentioned it, to my knowledge. Some people think it's the Z-sword, in which case he would have gotten it from the Kais. In the movie Wrath of the Dragon, Present Trunks is given a sword by Tapion. They could be the same. How he actually got a sword strong enough to slice through Frieza is all up to fan imagination :D

@royalpanthera7 For the record. You're wrong. Trunks said that the Androids in his timeline were weaker then the ones in the mainstream timeline. However trunks trained and surpassed the power of the mainstream androids, he never got to fight them again because cell absorbed them, he trained to be able to fight cell who was stronger. That is why when he went back to his timeline, he could blow them to pieces with a single ki attack, cause they were like flies compared to him.
