@seapeddler It's NOT an optical sensor. Therefore, it's not susceptible to any of those concerns.

@herkojh An external device is subject to sabotage, and physical blockage. If the device works on a Jeep crossing a very muddy stream that is 3 ft. deep, hallelujah !
