  • It gets even worse, In GB they say public school, when its actually a private school ,Ive been here 20 years and still havent figured it out 

  • @bearwoodbrown yes it's private school, and "Public School" is simply an old fashioned English expression which means that the school is open to any member of the public who is willing to pay fees for their child's education... the teaching and curriculum are diffirent from the state schools.

  • @bearwoodbrown 'Public' just refers to the tradition behind the schools and the idea that any child could attent no matter where they live - if they pay the fees that is.

  • @bearwoodbrown it dates back to when most schools were for religious people, whereas the public schools were open to anyone who had the money to go, hence public school. :)

  • @TalesFromOblivion no "Public" School guys, "Public School" is a private, fee paying, school in the UK.
