I wish you guys would stop moaning. Yes, Blackers was the worlds best guitarplayer ON A GOOD DAY, which he unfortunately had very few of during his last spell with DP. Most of the time he was sulking in his corner, doing some fancy movements with his guitar and bickering. Satriani does an excellent job here AND dont forget that he gave the rest of DP a renewed "faith". They suddenly discovered that playing was fun after several tours with a guitarist mostly resembling a spoiled kid.

Wow, i'm a big fan of all things Purple but didn't know footage existed from the stop-gap Satriani Japanese dates. I've always had a soft spot for this Fireball number and Joe does a fine job. Cheers for posting.

Joe turns in a fine performance indeed... considering this show (Dec 7 1993, Tokyo) was only his 3rd with the band, after jumping in to fill for Blackmore (who'd quit mid-tour), on short notice!
