  • yeah i was 6 miles from the epicenter in mt. carmel...it was crazy there!!

  • we could even feel it here in kansas city. i was awoken by it too.

  • i did this on my chanel check it out

  • I love Mr. Rogers too :O)

  • My sister lives in Illinois! I wonder if it was near her home. I didn't think they had earthquakes there. Pretty scary stuff! ey? kids?

  • It was pretty scary. If she was in Southern Illinois, she was closer than me in Central Illinois.

  • She lives in Mahomet, just northwest(?) of Champaine. Please excuse the spelling.

  • ahh, i am familiar with the area. She was pretty much as close as I was. probably felt about the same there.

  • woah. i no a bj horton, that lives in Central illinois. WICKED PISSAH

  • wicked!

  • i just googled it and apparently there have been earthquakes in illinois since like 1880?? it's happened every couple years or so.

  • Who woulda thunk it! Illinois... just another California :O)

  • CNN is looking for a new Anchor, you should apply.

  • lol! I would gladly accept. LOL I should do it from my bedroom v-log style too. And in the middle of the night while I look like crap.

  • That happened to me too! I sleep right by the wall of my house, and i thought the house was falling down.

  • You people might want to relocate all the farming equipment and animals to a more stable ground. And no, concrete is not stable. Move to Pennsylvania or New York where an earthquake is not likely to happen. I mean, you don't want cows and farming equipment falling into the "soft" soil in Illinois or Indiana! LOL!LOL!

  • lol

  • lol

  • glad ur ok. you really didnt talk about anything that exciting but u were entertaining for some reason. u r kinda cute.

  • haha, thanks =D (Even though I think your wrong.)

  • Gather all your cows and wheat and head east, because Cali is not the place for you!

  • FactCheckPeople - I also heard if we did experience a large scale earthquake on the New Madrid Fault it could extend to as many as seven different states.

  • this one was felt in 16 states

  • Thank you for the report, I use to live in Illinois, and I still have people over there.

    Alicia

  • Btw if you start playing WoW look me up on Echo Isles Realm, names Morgsbro -_<

  • Subscribed. yeah i woke up in the middle of it i was like wtf? =P

  • haha, thx. Yeah, I hear you. that is exactly how I was. Also, I tend to play Uldum, but I might make a character there. What faction are you with?

  • Horde, all the way

  • ok. I will look you up sometime. You might have to help me level up!

  • :) just add me to friends.....I usually only play on the weekends because i have school during the week and stuff.

  • HA-Ha! ANOTHER video about an earthquake! Run for your lives. The big one is coming tomorrow! LOL! All this hype! Come to California and experience the real ones! You call that a big earthquake? Sheesh, try a 7.2 in San Francisco! Calm down people! It's just a little shake! LOL

  • hehe, but buddy we aren't used to it! also, we have some different circumstances possible, more to loose with earthquakes. We have more top-soil which makes for a pretty dangerous situation. I hear ya though. Cali would freak me out, that is just unnatural to me!

  • "Central and eastern US earthquakes generally shake areas about 10 times as large as those that occur in California.

Earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S., although less frequent than in the western U.S., are typically felt over a much broader region. East of the Rockies, an earthquake can be felt over an area as much as ten times larger than a similar magnitude earthquake on the west coast." (from USGS website)

    Read a little mm7daniel!

  • i live in St. Louis....i woke up and my bed was shaking and by big dresser kept banging against my wall...it lasted a little over 30 seconds

  • i felt it! it was weird

  • Good recap - - Good Luck to you from your neighbors in Chicagoland area. I have a feeling we may be in for another round soon.

  • the in indiana wuz 5.2

  • my mom lives 6 miles from the epicenter and she apparently didnt have any pictures or decorations left up.

  • it was a 5.2

i felt it in st. louis

  • Nope...it was offically a 5.7 on the richter scale.

  • It woke me up in missouri it feel like a airplane hit the house !

  • Shook me right out of my bed.

You know they say that this is the intro to a larger quake on the way for our area.

  • We have been due for a really massive earthquake. I was in a few local agencies that trained us for such a thing. We also have very loose and plentiful top soil rich in clay. it is scary when you have that instead of a thin layer like california

  • Do you think this was it? Just curious for your personal opinion.

By the way, this earthquake brought me to your vlog. Pretty cool, nice to meet ya :-)

  • I heard people felt it as far away as iowa. I wish I was awake at that time because people felt it in missouri as well.

  • I live 20 miles from the epicenter, and I slept through it.

  • Dang I did not even know ya guys got them up there!! Glad to see you made it!!

Here in los angeles we have 50 to 100 a day, so small we don't even notice them!!

  • Yea, I slept through it, but my dad felt it and heard it shaking the roof... and I'm in Northern Kentucky...

  • It's nuts, my sister in law is up that early, she lives in WI. She claims to have just thought she felt something around that time, and then heard about it later. That is way more than the 450mi radius they reported on the news, however it was barely noticeable by then.

  • yes i felt it, i almost had to stand up and hold my tv still

  • yeah im in central illinois to and my bed was shakeing and my walls were shakeing and i was scared soo bad.since the tornados in 2006.o and all my pictures off my walls fell off.

  • its 5.4 i am around 45 miles away from the center.

  • EWW did you just feel that aftershock? I am in Central Illinois, and it knocked stuff over!

  • It was officially measured as a 5.7 on the richter scale.

  • I think you should go back to sleep

  • hehe, I tried at that time. However, I never got back to sleep. Kept feeling like my bed was shaking then i'd wake up startled and not wake up.
