  • I'd personally would throw another titbit to the ground after the bird has eaten off the glove, then after a few flights stop feeding off the glove and throw the food to the floor .Bird should fly to glove not expecting to be fed but to use it as a place to to hunt to food you throw to the floor.

  • @mmosl shut it that bird is doing fine your just chucking big falconry turms out your mouth and thinking you sound Cool .nice bird Mayr very responsive well done

  • Lame.

All your training her to do is become fist bound, that is why he is having to throw the bird.

Yea I do have a passage Harris hawk.

Get the bird hunting, flying from glove to tree is NOT training.

  • @mmosl Walking your dog on a leash back and forth is training.. so it gets used to whos in charge and how things are done. Same case here. He is letting the hawk get used to commands and returning to master. That, IS training.

  • dude wy you like throwing her.It can fly you know that right

  • What weight do you fly her at ? and are u doing any hunting with her ???

  • Melissa: it's called casting, the bird would rather stay on the glove cos that's where he gets his food, he's not throwing it just giving it a bit of encouragement!

Great video, my buzzard died recently getting a Harris soon should be alot easier than the buzzard was to man and train

  • @SuperShaunyboy thats called spoiling the bird.my falcon just flys when i put my hand out

  • he shouldnt throw it off though, let it takes its time dont force one but very good i want one.

  • Very impressed

  • hi there any advice. my male harris hawk which i had 4 week .flys to my fist in the houseand garden from low perch. but when i put it on a high perch. it wont fly back to fist.do i need to bring the wieght down . i feed him 3 chicks a day. also some time when flying back to my fist it changes direction and trys to fly away. lucky i had a creance on him

  • @bablulisa

Some times harris hawks can get imprinted to a certain perch because they know that from that perch they are going to be fed. three chicks a day is a lot to feed a male harris hawk . mine's at 1.6 hunting weight and only gets a bit of steak off the glove and a chick if not. or what ever it catches obviously. best thing to do is steer clear of flying it at home.

  • well done mate is it a female

  • well done you. recalll is pretty good now go get some bunnies
