How well I remember the transistor radio thing. I put mine under my pillow too. One night John R. played a set of songs and they were on the following labels. Duke, Backbeat, Sureshot and Songbird.
Yep, bought loads of records from Randy's Record Shop and this was one. Thankful to have lived in a time when all this great music was popular. We will never see or hear its like again.
@oldielover48 You are probably right about that. Living in North Carolina I could get WLAC clearly fairly often and would go to sleep with a transistor radio earbud in my ear, tuned to WLAC! Late at night they played a lot of blues. I got my copy of this great record in one of their specials, 6 records for about $3. It included one by Roscoe Shelton I liked, and others. I uploaded a broadcast featuring deejay John R and a record by Albert Washington.
