In my opinion it is a great tire. I have one on the rear wheel(sv 650). It is a good choice for a inexperienced biker (which i am). I've learned how to make corners with this tire. The traction is much better than on sportmax- only my opinion.
Ill definetly let you know how I feel they compare the q2s! The only difference im gonna have is my rear dunlop was a 200 the 2cts gonna be a 190, ive heard a lot of good things about the 2cts including your vid!
I just ordered these for my CBF 600. On my previous bike, a 2000 CBR 600 F4 I rode these tires for 30.000km and they were still far from worn out! And they provided amazing grip and plenty confidence in every corner.
I Just bought a set (2)of these tires !!! I cant wait to recieve them! I got them on ebay brand spanking new with a 190 rear for $259.00 shipped to my door !!!!
Tried the pilot but found by the end of a track day you can actually feel the 2 compounds. Found the Bt 003 type 3 front and type 2 rear not as grippy but I can trust them all the way to canvas almost
The 2CT is a Great tire. You just have to watch your tire presure - keep it at around 35-36 pounds and you will be fine. Or, you can try the new Michelin Pure, it's a newer design and the feedback we have heard is that it is very very good.
Thanks for this. I'm up for tires on my GSXR1000 and was debating between these, the Pirelli corsa, and the bridgestone. I think this just made my mind up for me.
Scalping is when uneven tread wear appears. It feels like a wave if you run your hand over the mid center/side of the tire. As you go around the tire, the tread is higher and lower and then higher all the way around.
Check it one a week or so and just keep an eye on it. If you are not loosing pressure then you can check less often, if you are noticing a pressure change, check it more often.
**Update - as of March 2010, the Michelin PP 2CT is the least costly tire of the bunch. No choice to make anymore, always go with the PP2CT. You now get the best tire for the least amount of money. Who told you there was no Santa Claus?
The 2CT will probably be better for you. The Road 2 is more of a sport touring tire that can accomodate some agressive riding but is intended more for a less agressive style. The 2CT will wear faster on straight roads but will accomodate your aggressive riding style better. Go with the 2CT, you'll be happier, I think.
Michelin Pilot Power 2CT vs Michelin Pilot Road 2. which tire is overall better in your opinion? compare the two tires. give me full feedback details. thank you.
i just got a set.....should i break them in on the street?.... or should i just track them fresh from the store .and just take the first few sessions to get them goin ?
You can break them in either way, you will have to be careful until they are scrubbed in. At the track, 1 or 2 laps to warm them up and then progresive lean angles. 1 session should be more than enough. On the street, it takes longer, speeds are slower and road surface is not as good.
The Rosso has a softer side wall and what appears to be a harder compound rubber on the contact patch so.. both softer and harder. Warm up is very similar
I currently have Rosso's on my ZX10 for testing and really, both tires are great. The Rosso is a single compound and the 2CT is dual. Either tire will do the job, I don't know yet how the Rosso's will wear as I only have about 3,000 km's on them - so far I like them.

You suggested closely monitoring tire pressure, particularly on the front tire. What psi do you recommend for the 2CT (aggressive street riding)?
luckydc 1 year ago
We suggest running 31 ~ 34 cold for track and 34 ~ 38 for street. We see problems in fronts that are allowed to run at less than 28 pounds
RedlineMS501 1 year ago
@RedlineMS501 34-38 is that good for canyon riding as well? I usually only ride on weekends to the canyons and occasional track day.

What are the recommended tire pressures for these tires??
CaptSaveAHo3 1 year ago
i forgot some things. PP 2CT vs P road 2.
-fastest warm up times
-which tire better for street use/track use (speeds under 130mph)
-more confidence in turns when you are dragging knee, etc.
* i mostly ride threw twisty roads & once a while those long straight roads.
** i ride a supersport bike 600cc
