  • I've just realised that the man who does the dubbed voice for the photographer is the same voice as Artyom from the 'Metro 2033' game. Does anyone know his name?

  • Joking about this isnt funny... well if you do joke about this then i have to say youre a retard :> have a good day.

  • What is the graphite used for in nuclear energy????

  • @Gaysluuut it's used for the moderator.

  • @Gaysluuut graphite rods are used to slow down the fast neutrons transforming them into "thermal neutrons" so the can collide with nuclei and produce chain reactions...

  • i want to be the hulk

  • sadly i think the worlds largest nuclear disaster is unfolding right now...

  • @gankzorzz your wrong sorry

  • Europe came dangerously close to extinction here

  • @iHeartCookies9523 You're really dumb.

  • @iHeartCookies9523

how many of us are dead in those caves???

ask yourself, what makes the people's life for over 80 compared to just 30 to 40 centries ago.

    busy lifestyle have no wrong.

    stubborness of human is.

but in some way, it is also right.

will you have the bulb to light up your room if edison was not stubborn??

  • @iHeartCookies9523 Had we just stayed in caves and hunted for food there would NOT have been US, me and you, to begin with, to "go through this in the first place". Paradoxical and ironic, I know, but that's the way it is...

  • Why do the governments at the time of so many of these countries try to deny that there is a problem? What do they hope to gain from that? They always say that they do not want panic. Lame excuse to lie to your people. I think.

  • the voice over sounds just like the voice in Metro 2033

  • @UntitledDemon ya i know lol

  • Uraniun and plutonio do not explode like a atomic bomb just due fire, but require a sofisticated mechanism to detonation.

For me this idea of a giant atomic bomb makes no sense

  • 3:51 The general secetary guy reminds me of Tom Berenger lol

  • this is so full of lies. power plants aren;t bombs, impossible

  • @msg2urudy Power plants aren't LITERALLY bombs, but they can explode if something goes wrong.

Read about the Idaho Falls incident. Some rods in IH collected neutrons and, while repairs were going, there was only one that was removed.

I forget EXACTLY what happened, but the partial removal of the rod caused a small explosion.

Since the conditions here weren't quite as good, a larger explosion happened and caused quite a few problems.

It was true, I promise you. Check the pics.

  • @msg2urudy If you put dynamite around a atimic bomb and explode the dynamite, the atomic bomb do not detonate if it wasn't armed. WEcan say the same for put it on fire, on magma, watever. So I agree with you.

  • @jerryaltman

the would have been a steam explosion. The super high temp core falls into the pooled water from the fire crews, The water is instantly turned into high temp steam and massively increases the pressure on the walls and cap of the hole. When the cap or walls gives way the pressure is released resulting in a huge steam explosion which carries the core and radiation with it.

  • @jerryaltman

Yes BUT.. The graphite that was burning in chernobyl melted the uranium rods and was melting down through

the floor, and could have reached the water reservoir that was under the plant. If it had got down to the water it would have set of a thermonuclear explosion a hundred times more powerful than the hiroshima and nagasaki bombs combined.

  • @flattabang How just uraniun in water could set a thermonuclear explosion??????

No creat a nuclear fission or nuclear fusion is not that simple. You need a massive extraordinary impact of the radioactive material, like in the atomic bombs. The atomic bomb have a special device to create a precise enourmous colision from all sides, liek a sphere. Other model using plutoniun was like a cannon shooting the radioactive material in incredible speed one against other.

It's not easy to get ...

  • National heroes? More like Continental heroes. Those guys saved Europe, and they are incredibly courageous.

  • 7:45 Six hundred pilots are contaminated, and eventually die just to gain a few days. It is sad to see their young happy faces. So sad!

  • Now that's the zone...

  • Awwww no Hans Blix

  • A better way to get the reactor out, was to throw another nuke on it

  • @barthoedemaker Trolololololo

  • these guys are brave as fuck, this is some scary weird shit

  • No, it would've been a steam explosion, dispersing more radioactive material across the continent.

The molten rods simply would not have gone prompt critical.

  • @TAz69x Yeah, this whole "documentary" is just full of bad info. You're absolutely right of course. Other gems: the narrator said something about FUSION going on in part 1! He also said the experiment was to do with fueling, which of course it wasn't. And the "flashes" in the amateur film footage from Prypiat had nothing to do with radiation as they claim here.

  • @dvnrrs im not saying the info is correct in the doco. But, when you correct someone/some fact, back up your argument. Provide some facts otherwise you sound like a slimy little bitch.

  • total fallout 3 status

  • @thezuke:

Ignorance or irresponsibility and technology is a threat to the world

  • It was more than the Soviets that were a threat to the world. The French lied to its own people about the fallout, the Inquiry into the accident by the international atomic agency lied about the numbers of people who would die as a result of this disaster. Of course Hans Blix was involved in this report, he's the same guy that reported to the UN security council that Iraq had WMD's.

  • the people that tried to help the catastrofy are HEROES!!!!

  • @gedviuxxx and died...

  • @gedviuxxx teenage mutant hero turtles

  • @aboajaka exactly, when will we start seeing the cool side effects from radiation that comic books have promised us?

  • @aboajaka ummmm dude joking about this isnt funny -.-

  • @gedviuxxx Yes it is..

  • @gedviuxxx Yes it is.. horrible but funny

  • @aboajaka go for a swim in the water near there and then lets have a laugh :)

  • i don't know about nuclear stuff but since people in other countries do nuclear testing and stuff would it be better if this exploded just like in the vid? just wondering... please fill me up with info thanks.....

  • - @ truelghtysix -

No - you can't just drop a bomb on the reactor again. All that would do is re-contaminate the world many times worse than what happened in 1986.

Also, the nuclear material that melted through the sub-levels of the building is not capable of creating the reaction necessary to cause fusion or fission. Nuclear weapons are designed with extremely precise timing mechanisms. If part of the explosive goes off at even slightly the wrong time you just get a dirty bomb.

  • it's interesting to imagine a birds-eye view of the entire operation.

if you were an alien or something and would watch all these people unitedly try to pacify this PLANETARY DISASTER! all the little humans in their primitive bulldozers and improvised protective suits working and taking readings using ALL of the formulas and laws learned before. in the big picture humanity is learning 7:49

i guess any alien race would easily handle this accident in a snap with no tragedy. it's interesting...

  • why reactor 5 and 6 were never finished

  • hmmmm I wonder....

  • cuz of the exident. it happen right before they were gone make a new one

  • Now I was aware that the there was water under the reactor but I was unware that it destroy minsk and wipeout the European union as well if it got mixed with nuclear material. Now that is scary

  • The first firefighters to respond also poured water on the fire not understanding that they were making the situation worse. It embarrasses me now how ignorant we were back then.

The strangest thing keeps happening to me, for the last 5 years I've searched out this disaster on, or around, the anniversary, without conciously realizing what the date is. I was 10 or 11 when this happened, I think that he news reports inundated my mind without me realizing.

  • @thegirl44 - it still getting worse every single day....people become more and more lazy & feel that they don't need to learn because of all the techonolgical advances...........more technology, less to learn.........-_-;

  • @GoddessAlexiel

That, or the assumption that the first thing that they read is correct because they can't be arsed to research past it.

I would have killed my mother to have so much information one click away as a young person but, on the other hand, I don't know if I would have had the sense to sort through all of the bullshit to find the straight dope about a subject, then.

  • @thegirl44 lol - good point.
