Every time I hear this, I almost cry, Vegas is good and all, don't get me wrong, but this just has that Tactical feel where it's like The A-Team where you can just watch your plan come together whilst watching the bots bang and clear in Operation : Pandora Trigger and bug houses as the unnamed operative. After Rainbow-Six 3 : Gold Edition, Rainbow-Six has never been the same, the nostalgia is killing me, does anyone still play Rogue Spear anymore?

I throughly enjoy the Battlefield series been playing since BF1942 onwards, I played the COD series FROM THE BEGINNING not just from MW1 on. Hell I've even played Vegas 1 and 2. But NONE of them compare to the true Tactical Shooters: Swat 3 and 4, Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear and Raven Shield.

But I think I never had such breathtaking firefights in any game again :( All the "new" games with 30 checkpoints per mission... I miss the good old times.

Rainbow 6 was spending a half hour drawing up a complex plan of attack during the tactical stage, then finishing out the mission lone wolf style after your dumb ass AI teams get themselves killed during a breach, bang and clear.

The Raibow six series - nowadays just another cover based shooter. Used to be 8 raibow vs max 35 terrorists - now 3 invincible cyborg rainbows vs 100 terrorists. Taking cover unrealistically like M. Pheonix on Gears.

Also it's funny how Red Faction series was put down because of bad sales & no support from the community... All I have to say to that is that they dug their own grave, The original Red Faction was a great HL type game, All of the new ones are completely different..

Modern games can only aspire to create the same gut reaction in it's players as the oldschool Red Storm games did. Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon.... The menu music alone... Bloody hell, just the Red Storm Entertainment intro is enough to give chills!

@theboaktree you do know that Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit has Win XP compatibility mode and it will recognize more than 3.25GB of RAM right? Before you say Rogue Spear does not even use more than 128mb of RAM, there are other games that would benefit from this other than Windows XP.

I don't know how much I would be willing to give for one day back the time I played this game. Something like this, it was never done before. The game infact, recommended using auto-aim and it had to be taken off manually through options that were sort of a "new thing" in games. The feeling..So intense, epic.
