i was at the mall back in the 90s and they had screens playing videos, i was so depressed then this came on 5 screens. I was in such a better mood after hearing it.
Incredible music! Kerr's vox and Burchill's stratospheric guitar sounds send chills up my spine, even now at age 50! Simple Minds plays passionate music.
I love to hear this song when the summer starts coming to an end and like Jim Kerr says "winter's in your eyes." Gets me in the mood for the coming months.
@ajr0988 the same day u2 filled san siro (70.000), simple minds played in a fucking town near mine, at a festival, in front of 2000 people. numbers speak.
@clinkgirl2009 That's so true and it's hard to believe this song is already 20-years-old, also! It received very little air-play at the time of it's release and that's a shame because the bass line and melody to this song is addictive and powerful.
I really like this song, it was the first single from the Real Life album back in 1991. When I heard it as a teen I really liked it, the only other song by Simple Minds I knew being (of course) Dont You Forget About Me. I later bought the 2-Disc Best Of, and then the albums that came out after that. Jim Kerr has a real great voice. Their last album, Graffiti Soul, came out in 2008, check it out!
Up until Grafitti Soul my favourite Simple Minds albums were always Street Fighting Years and the brilliant Real Life album which this magnificent single was from along with Let there be Love, Stand by Love and the 4th single Real Life- all absolutely sensational, I believe this is Charlie Burchall's favourite album also. I think the video for See the Lights was shot in Jim Kerr's Queensferry home-magnificent.
Brilliant .......simply brilliant........most of the works by my favorite band posted by one user......excellent work.......you have made my week and my month...please keep up the good work!!!!
