  • this man has an AMAZING voice

  • Very goood, simply amazing.....

  • Blinding:)

  • ooouw!fake ..but your have a good voice,,

  • Simply amazing!one of the best performances of this song....

i listen to it everyday this was simply the best!!!!!!!

  • What great memoirs these songs bring back.

  • They did this song toghther, it was a hit, when they broke up, each one did it solo, and each one was a hit on there own, I think this is the only song, that has ever been preformed in these 3 ways, by the same people, and each way was a hit, Can someone check this out,? and see if i'm right.

  • One of my favorite songs ever. You do it justice Paul and should go on to be a very popular singer. Bravo to you! Keep going. I have saved this song and will listen often it is soooo beautiful.

  • The most beautiful song ever written about how guys have sex and fall asleep right after.

  • The X Factor contestants should watch this. THIS is what singing is all about

  • I was scared at first, when I came across this video. It takes a lot of nerve to try to compete with a performance like Bobby Hatfield did on this song. The bar is so high. But Salvage pulled it off perfectly. Absolutely perfect. He did justice to the Righteous.

  • This is a beautiful version of the Righteous Brothers hit, I'm sure Bobby Hatfield would be pleased with it. You have a great voice, are you still singing?

  • @jlocorriere05 hi yes I'm still singing I have some work in Spain coming up at the end of September

also I sing all over the UK please check out my Billy Joel Impressions and Elvis here on youtube, hope you like them.

    Thanks for your comments.

    regards

    Paul

  • @nedleyolpal - Wonder stuff Paul! i love the Matt Monro version of this song too. I was on a cruise recently and met the Nelson brothers, who are as good as ever. Get on the cruise ships mate, as you will literally have a "captive" audience!

  • Bobby you are a marvelous singer, and have improved dramatically as your voice matured.

    This is a spellbound performance.

    Ed Clifford (Octogenarian81)

  • my mam watched this when it was first on, and also recorded it over and over again, legend, best version we've heard

  • This is the perfomance of a career. It gets better every time I listen to it!

  • One of my favorite classics of all time

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!

  • wow u sound just like bobby hatfield!

  • @devilwolv666 Better!

  • AMAZING

  • Love this Song ......We Miss you Bobby RIP....

  • excellent version ..hope paul has a great career..great really great

  • Very good version!! but the best is of righteous brothers!!

  • It's Hatfield not Hadfield, maybe edit the title.

  • I hope Paul won as he sang it with all the love and feelings that Bobby Hadfield did,i thought it was tremendous, very well done.

  • There was only one Bobby and he is the best singer of this song !

This singer did good to the best of his ability.

@Bob thank you for the share

  • Holy mackerel, this guy sounds just like Bobby Hatfield--I've seen the Righteous Brothers live five times, and I've been a fan for years... and this is guy sounds just like Bobby! Great vid!

  • Great to hear this again, I recorded it at the time and played it over and over. What's he doing now? Interesting that in the early days of 'stars in their eyes' they had to come back with a different song. Made it much more challenging!

  • It was very challenging as I only had half an hour to learn and run through the song before recording the live show I was more nervous on this one than Unchained melody. thanks for your post.

    Paul

  • @nedleyolpal Well done, sir! I think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded, and this is certainly the best rendition I have ever heard!

  • @kantanyo Bobby Hatfield was found dead in the Radisson at the age of 63, just a brief time before he was to perform with Bill Medley (as the Righteour Brothers) at the Miller Auditorium on the Western Michigan University campus. It was rumored that he died from a overdose of cocaine... but Bill Medley said he never had a reason to suspect an addiction. That was Bobby Hatfield's voice, and I'm sure it was him, but I declare it does not look like any Righteous Brother I ever saw.

  • @bfgrant32208 I think there is some confusion here! I was aware that Bobby Hatfield was sadly no longer with us, my comment was directed at the British singer featured in this video Paul Salvage. Paul did this excellent tribute to Bobby Hatfield on British TV some years ago and my comment was actually asking where is Paul now? However, thanks for responding to my comment as it made me revisit and play this video again.

  • Brilliant. x

  • hes quite good, but i have no idea who Bobby Hadfield is!! haha :)

  • five thumbs up

  • stunning x

  • Perfection x

  • truly class !!!! how many x factor so called stars could reach those high notes. like this guy .another lost talent.

  • Excellent. Finest singer today. Wow, so much heart and soul into his performance.

  • Brilliant. x

  • That was incredible. There isn't a single note out of place. Hits them all perfectly. An undiscovered millionaire.

  • Excellent version.I`m surprised that BillMedley hasn`t contacted Paul and invited him to tour as the "New Righteous brothers"

  • Because Bobby is irreplaceable. It´s my opinion, sorry.

  • Stunning. Thank you.

  • Perfect...... Maravilhoso.....

  • Paul Salvage sang at my 50th Birthday last Friday in a Club in a Devon village. An amazing talent, warmth and friendly personality and delightful manner make him the compilation of first class entertainment. His voice is absolutely awesome and his humour is second to none. My birthday could not have been made more special by anybody. Thank you Paul. It was a night that will never be forgotten and I wish you continued success. Love and best wishes, Maggie.

  • i miss stars in there eyes - all the good programs have gone !!

  • Fabulous.

  • Stunning.

  • Perfect and he still is.

  • wow...this sounds like the real Righteous brothers. He is not lip-syncing? If not...he is great.

  • I was there when it was filmed and I can asure you it was live . Check out his other stuff and his website, FAB

  • stunning. x

  • Amazing! so very close to Bobby but also a fab voice - well done

  • Hi nedleyolpal

What a great version of Ebb Tide you sang as Bobby Hadfield on Stars in their eyes.

    Top marks for this performance.

  • This is one of my all time favorite songs! what a wonderful rendition!

  • Just watched this again, very nice indeed.

  • Stunning quality stunning quality stunning quality VOICE.

  • This guy sings this song better than any artist i have heard ,he is amazing!!!

i cant stop listening to it!

  • Thank you Aaronlebon1 that's a very nice thing to say, I hope you enjoy the other video's

  • This was from the final of the 1992 series, as Paul Salvage won an earlier show in the series but sang a different song (Unchained Melody). RIP: Leslie Crowther, CBE (1933-1996), the greatest compare/gameshow host of all time. Sadly this was his last ever hosting of 'Stars' and the last regular work he did before his car accident later that year. Thankfully I have most of the Leslie Crowther/Matthew Kelly years on tape. Cat Deeley was boring on Stars in Their Eyes.

  • Have u got dis final? I not who were the other contestants on it? I know Patsy Cline won it.

  • The other artistes in the final were

    Brian Adams (Paul Macaferty)

    Diana Ross (jackie Webb)

    Stevie Wonder (Peter Elliot)

    Patsy Cline (Amanda Normansell)

  • Ave u got dis final?

    Who were the 91 finalists?

  • The 1991 finalists were:

    Louis Armstrong

    Mick Hucknall

    Jeniffer Rush

    Nat King Cole (Bernard Wenton)

    Judy Garland

I don't know who the other four finalists' impersonators were.

  • There were only 5 in that final

  • I meant I don't know who did Louis Armstrong, Mick Hucknall, Jeniffer Rush and Judy Garland.

  • Were they on in that order?

  • Yes.

  • Jennifer Rush was Alison Schoular from Bury. Louis Armstrong was Ricky Wangongo from Rugby.

  • bhvictory, do you have the nine 1995 heats and the following 1997 heats:

episode 1 (won by Jarvis Cocker)

episode 3 (won by Susanna Hoffs)

episode 4 (won by Paul Carrack)

episode 9 (won by Ronan Keating)

episode 10 (won by Olivia Newton John)

episode 11 (won by Brook Benton)

episode 12 (won by Michael Stipe)

Have you additionally sent off the seven 1994heats and the 1996 final results?

  • Leslie Crowther was a great man a gentleman and an excellent speaker, I had the pleasure

of his company on a number of occasions including one of many of his charity fundraisers in late 1992, where he excelled as speaker.

    he is surely missed.

  • I never met him in person, but I wrote to Leslie through his agent a couple of times just before he died in 1996 and he wrote back both times. He was THE true gentleman of Saturday night TV. Stuff Simon Cowell!!!

  • Is there anymore clips of him singing.

    He is great!

  • I think it is nice to see an episode of Stars in their eyes from series 3 1992 here on youtube thanks nedleyolpal!

  • I remember this I was 4 years old when Paul Salvage was on Stars In Their Eyes in 1992. He performed as Bobby Hadfield really well. He sung the song really well too. When I first watched his performance on TV it gave me goosebumps. Good bless Leslie Crouther he is a legand. RIP Leslie. He was a good host but not as good as Matthew Kelly..

  • Hi Babe5677

Matthew Kelly was brilliant as host of Stars in their eyes. I remember that Matthew used to a lot of colourful waistcoats in his early days of hosting the show.

  • Hi nedleyolpal!

Thanks uploading this clip of Stars in their eyes from the days when used to be good.

Paul Salvage did a wonderful job performing as Bobby Hadfield I'm sure Bobby himself, would've been proud of him.
