He's one of the best dancers I've ever seen, not just the best Mongolian. He's an amazing technician. There used to be several videos online of him in the late 90s (before youtube). There were the two I posted, which I copied from myspace, as well as one of him doing 6 consecutive double tours, another of him doing 11 pirrouettes and another of him doing a bunch of pirouettes while removing his jacket. I wish I could find those.
I know Bat! We danced together several years ago-one of the most amazing turners I've ever seen. He and my husband (also a dancer) used to have "pirouette competitions" in class; my husband never came close.=)
He leans forward in the deep plie to start and literally throws his back into it. He is wonderfully straight after that, though, with a perfectly timed and balanced finish as if 'tadahh'.
As far as I know, I don't think he dances much anymore. But he was living in Maryland last I heard, and he was teaching somewhere around there. When this was recorded, I think he was dancing for San Jose Cleveland Ballet. Originally he danced in Moscow.
@buggy10110 You are so lucky to have him as your teacher ! I wish I could learn from him !
