I am a bike technician for a bike store and i CANNOT stress to you how much YOU ARE WRONG on the line "bike technicians dont adjust the brake properly and leave them loose" but i will say that a bike technician MUST set brakes up PROPERLY otherwise they are not a BIKE TECHNICIAN and are stil a newbie!
i run the 6 pot clarkes clim8 with 210 travel on the rockshox .
and this vid is bullshite !!! depending on wether or not you have "post" mound calipers or " ISO" mounts
post mounts is simple, loosen both caliper retaining bolts , apply brake and tighten mounting bolts ! "ISO" mounts are more diffulct as you need to use "shimms" (small washers) between the caliper body and caliper mount ,for example: you may need 3 "shims" top and 4 bottom to stop the rubbing .
A handy tip I learned is to start with the barrel adjuster nearly all the way out, then tighten the caliper on the rotor until the wheel wont move and then fix the cable. Then if you screw in the barrel adjuster it'll release the tension. If your brake is centered then you'll get the tightest braking without rub.
@ikenbetter because technically they're called mechanical disc brakes, but you're right that it should be specified esp if you're looking for hydraulic disc vids.
@Traebo18 how do u even the disc? i put some pressure on the side of one of my disc brakes and it's slanted now, makes noises when i ride, i adjusted the the brake tabs a million times and saw that it can't be helped with unless the disc brake is even again. please help :)
if it is a hydraulic disc brake you have oil on the pads, if it is a mechanic/cable it could be the pads are either not angled properly or your pads could be worn down
@MrMOB420 If you knew anything about mountain biking(Which you don't) you would realize I am explaining the difference between a full suspension mountain bike and a hardtail. But being the monstertard you are you don't have the patience to watch the whole video.
@Traebo18 Guess what monstertard! i type in "how to adjust disk brakes" and that is what your video says. It doesnt say hmm im going to explain the difference between a fuckin fully and a hardtail. Then maybe at the end tell you how to adjust your brakes.
@MrMOB420 If you would quit being a fucktard and open your eyes you would be able to see just like everyone else and see that the focus of this video is about adjusting disc brakes, not the difference between two types of bikes. I start to discuss disc braking at about 2 minutes in. You are a real intelligent guy, can you even ride a bike, I guess that will be my next demonstration video of how to ride a bike. You dumb youtube slut.
@TheDylan1234 There should be an allen screw on the mechanism itself, loosen it so it will have give to it. Then loosen the other allen screw where the brake line runs through so you can put more slack through the mechanism.
dude shut the fuck up and tell me how to do this shit jesus christ i mean you prob kno what your doin but stop sayin useless shit. if i kno the difference between disc and rim brakes i dont think i need to kno what the fuk a hardtail is.
@AdrianKmiecik try moving the adjuster even further up the break cable, then tweak it with the barrel adjuster on your handlebars to make it really tight. The higher up the adjuster goes on the break cable, and the more break cable slack that passes through the adjuster, the tighter your breaks will be.
@16kaday Quit trolling. Your nothing but an isolated pathetic excuse for a man that hides behind a keyboard and trolls on youtube all day. Do us all a favor and wrap your lips around a revolver. It would do us some good for our society.

@CrieffHS try using a standard break cleaner from any auto store, spray down the components, and even the disc. It has worked for me before.

@CrieffHS Some times when your disc i squeals is because there is some oil og grease on it OR there cold.
Sometimes you have high performance brakes and when they cold the make lot of noize

malleodude53 1 year ago
@malleodude53 check for any kinks in the brake cable itself, kinks in the cable can cause that.
