  • im put off hydraulics now with all the vids i been watching

  • Perfect. Thanks dude, good video.

  • thanks man helped a lot

  • you know ur not the first guy in the world that has disc brakes?

  • He should adjust the brake...period. Instead of giving this long lecture about it.

  • my bike has got v brakes can i put disc brakes?

  • I am a bike technician for a bike store and i CANNOT stress to you how much YOU ARE WRONG on the line "bike technicians dont adjust the brake properly and leave them loose" but i will say that a bike technician MUST set brakes up PROPERLY otherwise they are not a BIKE TECHNICIAN and are stil a newbie!

  • Bro, I have that same bike. That diamondback topanga can handle any trail, its a tough ass bike...

  • @101rugbyplayer i have one too, mine is running 4 pot hydraulic disc brakes and 180mm travel forks

  • @MentalRider90

i run the 6 pot clarkes clim8 with 210 travel on the rockshox .

and this vid is bullshite !!! depending on wether or not you have "post" mound calipers or " ISO" mounts

post mounts is simple, loosen both caliper retaining bolts , apply brake and tighten mounting bolts ! "ISO" mounts are more diffulct as you need to use "shimms" (small washers) between the caliper body and caliper mount ,for example: you may need 3 "shims" top and 4 bottom to stop the rubbing .

    ths is cable adj

  • A handy tip I learned is to start with the barrel adjuster nearly all the way out, then tighten the caliper on the rotor until the wheel wont move and then fix the cable. Then if you screw in the barrel adjuster it'll release the tension. If your brake is centered then you'll get the tightest braking without rub.

  • Nice bike . . . but get to the adjusting already . . BITCH BOY

  • i have that same bike but fully customized. when it was stock it was shit!

  • Should this not be titled "Cable Operated" disc brakes?

  • @ikenbetter Um No

  • @Traebo18 why not?

  • @ikenbetter because technically they're called mechanical disc brakes, but you're right that it should be specified esp if you're looking for hydraulic disc vids.

  • @Traebo18 um yes

  • sick bike i just saw the exact one at sports authority

  • hi, my front disc brake squeals as i come to a full stop...any suggestions how to stop the noise ?

    regards

  • @CrieffHS try using a standard break cleaner from any auto store, spray down the components, and even the disc. It has worked for me before.

  • @Traebo18 dont put anything on your brakes! at most hot soapy water will do

  • @Traebo18 how do u even the disc? i put some pressure on the side of one of my disc brakes and it's slanted now, makes noises when i ride, i adjusted the the brake tabs a million times and saw that it can't be helped with unless the disc brake is even again. please help :)

  • if it is a hydraulic disc brake you have oil on the pads, if it is a mechanic/cable it could be the pads are either not angled properly or your pads could be worn down

  • @CrieffHS Some times when your disc i squeals is because there is some oil og grease on it OR there cold.

Sometimes you have high performance brakes and when they cold the make lot of noize

  • wat size frame you got?

  • my bike cost me £400. my disc breaks are shit. watching your videos on how to sort them out

  • How about shut up about the fucking bike and show us what I searched for. HOW TO ADJUST DISC BRAKES.

  • these are mechnic brakes?

  • Diamondback Response Sport ^^

I was gonna get that bike but in white.

  • Just an FYI for later so that people don't give you crap the front "shock" is called a fork

  • your a fucking moron, not like i cant see the bike has no back suspension. show me how to adjust my fuckin brakes

  • @MrMOB420 If you knew anything about mountain biking(Which you don't) you would realize I am explaining the difference between a full suspension mountain bike and a hardtail. But being the monstertard you are you don't have the patience to watch the whole video.

  • @Traebo18 that guys a bluddy idiot !! - Nice vid man :)

  • @Traebo18 Guess what monstertard! i type in "how to adjust disk brakes" and that is what your video says. It doesnt say hmm im going to explain the difference between a fuckin fully and a hardtail. Then maybe at the end tell you how to adjust your brakes.

  • @MrMOB420 If you would quit being a fucktard and open your eyes you would be able to see just like everyone else and see that the focus of this video is about adjusting disc brakes, not the difference between two types of bikes. I start to discuss disc braking at about 2 minutes in. You are a real intelligent guy, can you even ride a bike, I guess that will be my next demonstration video of how to ride a bike. You dumb youtube slut.

  • Can you make a video how to fix the problem i have please.

  • see the bit at the bottom that holds the string that doesint move please help

  • @TheDylan1234 There should be an allen screw on the mechanism itself, loosen it so it will have give to it. Then loosen the other allen screw where the brake line runs through so you can put more slack through the mechanism.

  • @Traebo18 thanks i will try that and see if it works if it doesint i will get back to you

  • @Traebo18 i tried that but it doesint work i will make a video me trying to fix it and you will see what i mean

  • my back brake has lots of tension but they still don't stop. Why?

  • @malleodude53 check for any kinks in the brake cable itself, kinks in the cable can cause that.

  • Thank you, very descriptive :) however the video does not show you actual adjustment......

  • dude shut the fuck up and tell me how to do this shit jesus christ i mean you prob kno what your doin but stop sayin useless shit. if i kno the difference between disc and rim brakes i dont think i need to kno what the fuk a hardtail is.

  • stop on contact ? my bike stops after 3 sec and donst stop on a slope :D hope this vid helps to fix it

  • @Dice3000 do you have disc brakes or linear v-brakes?

  • thx that helped but my brakes are not stopping me as good so i cant do a endo

  • @AdrianKmiecik try moving the adjuster even further up the break cable, then tweak it with the barrel adjuster on your handlebars to make it really tight. The higher up the adjuster goes on the break cable, and the more break cable slack that passes through the adjuster, the tighter your breaks will be.

  • Thanks buddy helpful video! :)

  • took 8 minutes to get to the point... move along nothing to see here.

  • @16kaday Quit trolling. Your nothing but an isolated pathetic excuse for a man that hides behind a keyboard and trolls on youtube all day. Do us all a favor and wrap your lips around a revolver. It would do us some good for our society.

  • duh duh get to the point...

  • @TURBOxSPOOL your a rude little prick now aren't you.
