Hey everyone, i was ondering if any of you could tell me the name of the band and the song to this vid? It's awesome! PS: Could you personally mail me on here rather than posting a reply comment. Thanks.
To the guy that said you would beat them in a fight - the speed and precision they use would keep you on the defensive - you might get a shot, but you better hope one of thise kicks doesn't find it's sweetspot first, cause the fight would be over.
ok so they look good but what use do they have im a 1st dan in karate and we dont do to many fancy kicks it means u dont get swept when ur in the air also it takes up alot of energy
kicks and moves like that are for show only. I fairly sure martial artists with their level of competancy know that those kicks would be impractical...
Hey THEROYALTWIN, I thought you were gone man. How's the "better than UFC stuff video" coming? We can't wait to see it man! It going to be awesome!!! Please let us know when you posted it, thanks again ^^
jasonherscovici, have you ever tried fighting or sparring with someone that has ever kicked you...I can guarantee you that at least 90% of these moves are more than just for show!
no, this is not martial arts. This is acrobatics. while they are doing 2 spins in the air, a real fighter would snap kick that foo in the air. probably break his ribs
This is a combination of acrobatic and martial arts moves. It's not real fighting, no, I agree with that. I think, and it's always hard to gauge unless you're there doing it and not watching, I would be tempted to wait until the person landed and then punch them with a right cross to the jaw. I don't think these guys are stupid though and probably wouldn't try to fight like this so, you know, lets give them some credit here.
Hey guys, do you know where is a better place to talk about different styles of Martial Art? Since some of us have the real passion in searching the truth in Martial Arts, why don't we all go there? It will be nice to have more friends in different styles so we can share our knowledge. That way we can all open our mind and learn even more. Like I said before, no art is the best art, and all arts can be good arts ^^
Speaking as a young and relatively expirienced martial artist I may be out of place here. (Especially as the discussion is pretty much over) But one point that it is worth knowing, this kind of stuff while without any real value in a real fight does improve balance, flexibilty, strength, grace... all things that are useful in a fight. But I'd like to see some more actual fight vids up on here. But definetly impressive stuff Royal Martial Arts crowd!
v gd points which would be applicable to a lot of videos... but these realli need to work a lot on their balance, flexibility and grace. All seemed a lil bit messy and you definately cant afford to be stumblin around after your spinning back kick or what have you.
We are at the same page now and I totally agree with you that these guys in the video are really cool! I would love to learn a few tricks for them (if they willing to teach me after all these T-T)
Just want to add a statement here to make things more clearly. What most people believe in doesn't always mean it's correct. Quite often it's the other way around. When everyone believed the world was flat, didn't mean the world was flat. The only way the world can be flat, is the creator decided to make it flat.
Your point is very well made indeed, and thank you for taking so much time to get all of this across. I do fully understand what you're saying now. Form can look good and be beautiful and athletic but without function or application it is really just exercise and the Martial element has been removed, so you're just left with dance/art. Hence your frustration at so many acrobatic based clips seen here.
Its quite ironic really because myself and a 1st dan conducted a lesson last night and he focused on flashy jump kicks which, he's quite good at and when it was my turn I took the class in the direction of pure self defence. Basic, hard hitting moves that aren't fancy and can still be used (hopefully) during an adrenalin rush. Still, I really wish I could throw myself around like the guys in this video. It's awesome to watch!
Btw, if you want to know more stuff about Pak Mei (which is also a cool but very deadly art), search for Google with the name "Pak Mei" and you might find some good stuff there. Here is one of the good link explain about its history and theory. Hope you like it ^^
There is another instructor in our school who is very good at applications (combat) and he know lot of arts like Brazilian Jujitsu, Hupkido, kick boxing etc. He focus 100% on applications and he don't care if it looks good or not (honesty, it looks really bad), but he can kick my ass anytime he want (but he never did because he is a nice guy and more important we know each other's level). He is the next best fighter in our school beside our SiFu (Master)(to be continue...)
If you say now "Wushu" train people to look good but don't know how to fight is a way to stop fights, that sounds stupid but this is the way it seems if they keep calling themselves "Wushu". But for sure, it is NOT Martial Art!
So you see, the "Wushu" style today have already betrayed the meaning of the word "Wushu". And sure it is fake "KungFu". People still called it a type of Martial Arts today because most people misunderstand or ignore the true meaning of the word "Martial" (check the definition in a dictionary again (to be continue...)
Because they won so many awards, they became so cocky and looks down on other schools like they are the real deal. But all they do is forms. Haven't really saw one join sparring yet. So they train once a week for an hour and win easy medals and other schools need to work their ass off trying to make the traditional forms looks good to match up. Lucky for me I'm good at that and often the judges can see different between the real stuff and the fakes (to be continue...)
Therefore, thousands of schools have gone to this trend and have forgotten the orginal applications already. So many schools I see today (meet them in tournaments) they don't even teach one single application in class. All they do is to make the "dance" looks good. No BS! (to be continue...)
But you know, no different then the Chinese gov today; they like to have faces. So they rushed the people to train for just looks and they didn't have time for theory & application much. And it became a trend til today. Therefore, even the western people can see the difference between the real stuff than this "Wushu" stuff (to be continue...)
During the Cultural Revolution, Chinese gov want to push how strong and cool they are so they start standardizing many northern styles (some southern) into this "Wushu" styles western people know today. Because orginally all these art have their own style, speed, theory, & history etc. It should really needs many years to join and modify them together inorder to make it work (to be continue...)
You got to understand some Chinese history (I know, not even teenage Chinese kids know these craps these days...) The Communist have a big responsibility to do with this (to be continue...)
The word "KungFu" orginally means skillfullness. More often use as an adjective then a noun. For example: his "KungFu" in driving is really bad, or she have good "KungFu" in cooking. So you see, western people called the acrobatic and showy style of forms "Wushu" was a big mistake at the beginning (to be continue...)
KyosanimLee, you are being humble and that is very nice of you. Yes, different languages mixing together can create lots of confusion. The word "Wu" orginally means stopping arguments or fights. "Wushu" means the art of stopping wars. So Karate, Judo, Taekwondo all these can mean they are a type of "Wushu" in the Chinese language (to be continue...)
I wonder, does anyone who thinks the skills shown here not to be relevant to martial arts feel the same way about Wushu, which has always, to my knowledge been accepted as a Martial art. I believe Wushu to be very acrobatic and showy in its performance, I think it looks great. But why dismiss the above as not Martial Arts and then accept Wushu as martial arts. This isn't a dig at Wushu, so any practitioners please don't get hot headed about this, I just using this to make a point.
And please, can someone tell me where is a better place I can share my commons and learn stuff from other schools? I don't what to dis the people here anymore. Even I try not to be, but still hurting others people really making me feel guilty. Please post some useful links here, anyone, thank you T-T
THEROYALTWIN is one of the people in the clip and I have great respect for him. And I trust that when he told me they can do better stuff then UFC (I believe Martial Artists should have a open heart to trust others, so I did here). That's why I took my words back and said sorry because I accused them that they are not real Martial Artists. And he told me he will have the applications stuff soon posting in here. That's what I'm waiting for. Hope you get it these time...
Btw KyosanimLee, I've never said these stuff is junk or cheating. I only said these are not the "real" stuff and not quite "martial" about it. I have great repect to people who can do cool stuff like this and there is nothing wrong with it. But if a person who train nothing but these stuff, he is not a real Martial Artist. You can double check all my pervious comments. Don't understand why you still don't get it.
Hi again, I do see what you're saying, I think with this kind of forum it's very easy for misunderstabdings to develop out of control. I agree that if a person ONLY trained to do the things shown here then they are not practising complete Martial Arts but then you could say that about a lot of fragmented styles that focus mainly on just grappling or kicking etc.
I'm still learning how to use this Youtube thing and am already saving money to buy a DV. But I will post my stuff in the future for sure. Just now having a baby, trying to make a living, will make me take awhile. You know, typical poor Kung-Fu man. I just found out if you type "Bruce Lee" and listen to his interviews, he have a bigger and better perspective what the "truth" is about Martial Art. And the stuff he trains, it's real stuff.
Almost forgot, I have started to train "Chi Kung" awhile ago. Because styles like Bak Mei basicly what you train is "Ging". And using "Ging" require lot of "Chi". Out puting too much "Chi" will make me die young. Still want to do these stuff when I'm 80s ^^
(if you don't understand what I mean, I encourage you open up your mind, do your homework 1st before making fun of Kung-Fu like last time) ^^
Now, if you really want to know what styles I like, I will tell you. For my size (5ft3), standing styles, I like Bak Mei, (kinda like Wing Chun but it's more agressive and deathly), Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Yen Yee (the bad Jet Li used in movie "The One"). For ground & submissions, I like Jujitsu and expecially the Brazilian style. Wrestling is also very effective but wouldn't suit that well for my size. Hope all these knowledge answered your curiosity :D
It's like the all the pieces of a puzzle is everywhere on the table and some of it even got twisted. Today, many of the orient arts like Karate and Taekwondo, was orginally developed from Shaolin Kung-Fu. And Chinese Martial Arts have 4000 yrs of history. Please don't make yourself a fool if you don't know what the word "Kung-Fu" mean at the 1st place (to be continue...)
I see that you are looking down on "Kung-Fu" and I can see why. Most of the martial arts we see out there are fakes and "Kung-Fu" seems to be the worst. The reason is that Chinese people like to fight themselves. What I mean is that they don't like to share & modify their knowledge together so there are so many different styles of Kung-Fu out there and you don't know what's good and what's bad (to be continue...)
Another example, if you are big, with lot's of strength and like to grab people, wrestling or Jujitsu may suit you. If you want to have a balance life and still can kick ass when you are 90's, Aikido or combat Tai Chi (Train Chen style with Chi Kung) is for you. If you want to win tournaments and be a fighter on TV, Thai style, kick boxing, ufc stuff will suit you. But remember, many die young because they've pushed over their limits or simple got destroyed by the opponents. (to be continue...)
Another example, in Northern China there are lots of flat lands in the pass. So Northern style kung-fus will have more long range moves. But Southern China is opposite. It's very crowded and streets & roads are much smaller. So therefore, close combat moves are more effective. Imagine you have a long staff but you are fighting your opponents in the washroom... you know what I mean ;) (to be continue...)
For example, during a war or on the street, many ground styles will not be applicable. Because often you need to fight more then 1 person and if you are on the ground, foot prints, spears or knifes cuting mark will be all over your body. So you need to learn something with high mobility so you have place to run away to regroup. But if you want to be a ufc fighter, the situation can be almost opposite. (to be continue...)
Different styles created in the pass is the experience the creators and the follows had. Is like building Lego, adding a piece on one after another (of course some bad martial artist might take out the good stuff and add some bad stuff from time to time). Different history, environment, opponents, and even your own body's size, speed and reflex will have a huge diference in a fighter reacting response (style)(to be continue...)
Sorry, I was feeding my baby. 1st of all, I want to know how old you are and how long have to train martial art. Your question is like asking chicken 1st or egg 1st. What I can tell you, no style is the most effective and all (most real stuff) can be most effective. (I will explain more in detail...wait...)
And forms and katas are important at the beginning (like a baby learns how to walk) because it's the sum of the experiences what the real Masters created in the past. And it should be applicable in real situation (if the master is a real master). Therefore, if one really digested it well (like breaking it down and mix it for different situation), then take out the parts your body don't need, you will start creating some move most effective for your body. This is how it should go.
Hmmm... I have to disagree with a little here. Yes, I also trying to be a well rounded martial artist too. But application always should come 1st before everything. Because we are training martial art here so aleast to a point we can well protect ourselves.
i want to be a well rounded martial artist. it's like doing forms or katas may not help you defend yourself, but it does somethings that regular fighting won't do.
I understand your point and I'm not againsting it. But don't you think it's sad when you see people are very good at basketball tricks and magic passes and stuff but can't even shoot the ball or do a correct layup and score? I was pissed of the trend today, not with you guys. And I really like you man. Can yo teach me a thing or 2? Because tradition Martial Art don't teach you many of the flashy stuff.
Now I see! Thanks man and sorry if I have offended anyone. However, the stuff I points out before (like: about today people spend too much time on tricks and flashy stuff) still is the reality. And it came from the bottom of my heart therefore I still stand for it. But if you guys are not those people, I'm sorry that I put my comments in the wrong place at the beginning.
One suggestion, if it's a Sampler, and you guys are real martial artists, why don't you guys put more real stuff in your Sampler and at your website at the 1st place to avoid all these misunderstanding?
Can you add the link here and add all the good stuff about your school here? So I can come check it time to time. Please forgive this grumpy old man don't know how to use YouTube that much. Again, thanks a lot :)
Thanks man THEROYALTWIN! As I said before, I totally agree this is art and I rated it 4 star! If your title is "ROYAL MARTIAL ARTS TRICKS" or "ROYAL MARTIAL ARTS EYE-CANDY," I would have rated it 5 star! In fact I would like to learn a little more of these stuff to add to my forms for Tournaments (I bet you guys won a lot ^^) So if you guys are really really good already, and have the spare time to train tricks like these, I will totally repect it and hands down to the ground :D
Ill post some real fight footage from us soon. keep on the lookout. i just have to upload it. in fact you may be more impressed with us than some of the ufc fighters.
I respect it just the way it is. Please check all my pervious comments and I have put a lot in the pass too. So please show me a link about the ufc stuff you were talking about. Because I can't find it anywhere in your website. Most UFC style people use today is more applicable on 1 on 1 situation. But if you guys are doing that stuff, it will be more then good enough to shut me up. Thanks THEROYALTWIN!
im oine of the guys in the video and let me tell you, dont let those flashy moves fool you. those guys can fight ufc style. remember what the word art is and thats just what it is...art very beautiful. respect it.
You get it now KyosanimLee? And it seems everyone in this world love junk food more then anything these days. Not just martial art, I mean everything! People go to school not to gain knowledge but just pass the exam to have a better job for fame and fortune. So quite often we see people cheat in exams. And this, is the attitude pissed me off the most! Sad sad sad world...
Again I can see how you have come to this conclusion, you have strong beliefs based on experience and no one can take that away from you. Still I really do feel that the skills displayed here have their place and cannot be compared to junk or cheating. Sorry, but I think these are poorly chosen comparisons and disrespectful to the people on display here. You are an experienced Martial Artist, so use that to change the imbalance you see here, post a video.
it's like eating a healthy meal. Adding some sweetness, salt, pepper or even MSG can make the meal taste better. But even without that, good food already contain the stuff your body needs. And eating too much of the add-ons will only make your body ill or even help causing cancer. Therefore, eyecandy is not part of the meal. And if a person eat candy more then the real food, I'm sure he will die young. (to be continue...)
So together what made me upset the most, is people today spend most of their time trainning stuff like these and people seem to have all the attention to the eye candies. I can understand why an outsider thinks like this but pissed me off if an inside guys thinks like this too. And as I said, this, is not Martial Art, why? This is why... (to be continue...)
For example, a form or a Kata is created by the real masters in the past and it should be applicable & lethal if one know how to use it. And how often do you see them jumping around and have their head up side down in the air all the time? I looked at this ROYAL MARTIAL ARTS website and it seems to me that's all they do! (I might be wrong but that's the impression I get for them.)(to be continue...)
1st, what pissed me off is that when I type "Martial Art" for search, I expected to see some real stuff. I spended half day clicking but most I see is people fooling and joking around. Then I saw this clip, wow! almost 5 start! And titled martial art! I got so excited but after I'm done... I finally snapped. (to be continue...)
I don't mind a person add these stuff to spice it up in a form. In fact, I add quite a few of these stuff to the traditional form for Mix Martial Art Tournaments. Everytime I join a division, I won a medal or trophy (only lost once) and I have quite a few at home (but that's not the point). The point is I understand the value of these flashy stuff (to be continue...)
Well I can see what you're saying, I do however think that there is never one "truth", only differing points of view, each one held onto strongly by the person harbouring such a view. We all cling to our own truths because it is these that drive us to do the things we do. But thanks for taking so much time to respond to this, you have my respect Sir.
I originally studied HapKiDo 1st so therefore I know how to do some of these "tricks". But after a few years I found that I'm like learning swimming on the ground. Then I switched to Shaolin Crane style for awhile and still found the same problem. Then finally I found this Pak Mei style and stayed for more then 12yrs (I stopped for awhile in between because need to travel different places to work). (to be continue...)
My comments wern't aimed directly at WhiteEyegbrowJack. I've looked at lots of clips and I do get frustrated when these, very difficult demo skills get constantly dismissed on the grounds of street effectiveness, or lack thereof. Sometimes it all sounds like envy or insecurity, you know, If I can't do it then I don't want it to be called Martial Arts because it's making me feel less confident about my own abilities. I hate that attitude.
I like to see practical martial arts, but I like to see the flashy, unpractical side as well. I think it helps to inspire people. I do think that this clip is justified in being here, I will say that. I can't do the things in this clip, to be honest I am more into traditional/applicable arts. I originally learn't boxing, then Karate before moving onto Judo and now for the last 6 years, Kuk Sool.
Okay I can see my original comment caused some offence. Wasn't intended, believe it or not. I probably should have taken more care with my words. I have never heard of Pak Mei, but would like to find out more, any websites I can visit to view this?
Btw KyosanimLee, please check out the definition of the word "Martial" in the dictionary.
1. Of, relating to, or suggestive of war.
2. Relating to or connected with the armed forces or the profession of arms.
3. Characteristic of or befitting a warrior.
And just to let you know, I'm not talk and big so for sure is not a "lazy fat gits". And I'm damn sure know what I'm talking about when it comes to Martial Art. Have a nice day!
Yes, real martial art may not look as flashy and cool as high flying kicks. But what's up with people these days? Snice when did these gymnastics spinning stuff became "martial art"? No offense, I still love the clip. I gave it 4 star just because this clip is in the wrong category.
Oh, here we go again. Some very talented athletes doing a lot of impressive things that very few people can do. This is going to make a few people envious and insecure so lets harp on about Real situations etc so the lazy fat gits who don't train hard enough can feel better about themselves!!! This is pure art and its impressive!
Read the title of this category. It's MARTIAL ART! Not ART! I'm a Pak Mei Instructor myself and all of the stuff we train is applicable on streets. If you know what is "REAL MARTIAL ART", I would like to know how can these moves be applicable. And why people spending so much time trainning on flashy stuff and not much people show the real stuff anymore...
This is for sure art! But I just not sure how martial they can be...
Just imagine those high flying, easy off balance, flashy spinning super kicks hit something solid and bounce off, or blocked and pushed by some one who can take the blow, I would love to see more of that! ;D
The song is actualy In Flames - Reroute To Remain if im not totaly wrong :p
And what is shown here is just the more "flashyer" part of martial arts. Granted, if this is all they teach at that "school" then it wont do much good, but most types of martial arts teaches stuff that will help you in a fight, its just not as flashy as all the highkicks and spins. (i myself trained martial arts for a while, had to stop due to a bad knee)
A basic counter against those would be sweep the feet..if they jump..heel the stomach. Not much that can do in a fight..U use what's effective..not what looks cool.
I would have to agree, not much use this shit would do in a fight. I take MA, if you tried that shit on me I would either be under you, taking your ass to the ground or behind you knocking the back of yer head in. Although some of those kicks look lethal if ya ever could pull em off. lol no offense really, you gotta have balls to do that shit.
Mucho salto, pero eso no es un arte marcial. ¿Saben hacer un buen tsuki? - A lot of jumps, that´s not a martial art. Do they know how to do a good tsuki?
DUDE!!! WOW!! CAN I JOIN UR SKOO!! ^_^!! if not ohh well im not into those fancy kicks n e waiz i rather jus block ur's den take ur head off with a maui thai kick no offense i would like to learn ur style2 lol
you guys have good areial awareness, but the kicks are all cresent or just floppy legs. plz take it a constructive criticism

KyosanimLee, I just joined there as [WhiteyebrowJack] (1 "E" less) hope to see you there ^^
BTW, have you check out "Pak Mei" websites? What do you think about this art?

Speaking as a young and relatively expirienced martial artist I may be out of place here. (Especially as the discussion is pretty much over) But one point that it is worth knowing, this kind of stuff while without any real value in a real fight does improve balance, flexibilty, strength, grace... all things that are useful in a fight. But I'd like to see some more actual fight vids up on here. But definetly impressive stuff Royal Martial Arts crowd!
NikHasta 5 years ago
v gd points which would be applicable to a lot of videos... but these realli need to work a lot on their balance, flexibility and grace. All seemed a lil bit messy and you definately cant afford to be stumblin around after your spinning back kick or what have you.

KyosanimLee, now you finally understand TvT
We are at the same page now and I totally agree with you that these guys in the video are really cool! I would love to learn a few tricks for them (if they willing to teach me after all these T-T)

Just want to add a statement here to make things more clearly. What most people believe in doesn't always mean it's correct. Quite often it's the other way around. When everyone believed the world was flat, didn't mean the world was flat. The only way the world can be flat, is the creator decided to make it flat.
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Your point is very well made indeed, and thank you for taking so much time to get all of this across. I do fully understand what you're saying now. Form can look good and be beautiful and athletic but without function or application it is really just exercise and the Martial element has been removed, so you're just left with dance/art. Hence your frustration at so many acrobatic based clips seen here.
KyosanimLee 5 years ago

This is the kind of people I call true Martial Artist. I'm also kinda fake compare to him...
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
There is another instructor in our school who is very good at applications (combat) and he know lot of arts like Brazilian Jujitsu, Hupkido, kick boxing etc. He focus 100% on applications and he don't care if it looks good or not (honesty, it looks really bad), but he can kick my ass anytime he want (but he never did because he is a nice guy and more important we know each other's level). He is the next best fighter in our school beside our SiFu (Master)(to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
If you say now "Wushu" train people to look good but don't know how to fight is a way to stop fights, that sounds stupid but this is the way it seems if they keep calling themselves "Wushu". But for sure, it is NOT Martial Art!
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
So you see, the "Wushu" style today have already betrayed the meaning of the word "Wushu". And sure it is fake "KungFu". People still called it a type of Martial Arts today because most people misunderstand or ignore the true meaning of the word "Martial" (check the definition in a dictionary again (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Because they won so many awards, they became so cocky and looks down on other schools like they are the real deal. But all they do is forms. Haven't really saw one join sparring yet. So they train once a week for an hour and win easy medals and other schools need to work their ass off trying to make the traditional forms looks good to match up. Lucky for me I'm good at that and often the judges can see different between the real stuff and the fakes (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Therefore, thousands of schools have gone to this trend and have forgotten the orginal applications already. So many schools I see today (meet them in tournaments) they don't even teach one single application in class. All they do is to make the "dance" looks good. No BS! (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
But you know, no different then the Chinese gov today; they like to have faces. So they rushed the people to train for just looks and they didn't have time for theory & application much. And it became a trend til today. Therefore, even the western people can see the difference between the real stuff than this "Wushu" stuff (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
During the Cultural Revolution, Chinese gov want to push how strong and cool they are so they start standardizing many northern styles (some southern) into this "Wushu" styles western people know today. Because orginally all these art have their own style, speed, theory, & history etc. It should really needs many years to join and modify them together inorder to make it work (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
You got to understand some Chinese history (I know, not even teenage Chinese kids know these craps these days...) The Communist have a big responsibility to do with this (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
The word "KungFu" orginally means skillfullness. More often use as an adjective then a noun. For example: his "KungFu" in driving is really bad, or she have good "KungFu" in cooking. So you see, western people called the acrobatic and showy style of forms "Wushu" was a big mistake at the beginning (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
KyosanimLee, you are being humble and that is very nice of you. Yes, different languages mixing together can create lots of confusion. The word "Wu" orginally means stopping arguments or fights. "Wushu" means the art of stopping wars. So Karate, Judo, Taekwondo all these can mean they are a type of "Wushu" in the Chinese language (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
I wonder, does anyone who thinks the skills shown here not to be relevant to martial arts feel the same way about Wushu, which has always, to my knowledge been accepted as a Martial art. I believe Wushu to be very acrobatic and showy in its performance, I think it looks great. But why dismiss the above as not Martial Arts and then accept Wushu as martial arts. This isn't a dig at Wushu, so any practitioners please don't get hot headed about this, I just using this to make a point.
KyosanimLee 5 years ago
And please, can someone tell me where is a better place I can share my commons and learn stuff from other schools? I don't what to dis the people here anymore. Even I try not to be, but still hurting others people really making me feel guilty. Please post some useful links here, anyone, thank you T-T
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
THEROYALTWIN is one of the people in the clip and I have great respect for him. And I trust that when he told me they can do better stuff then UFC (I believe Martial Artists should have a open heart to trust others, so I did here). That's why I took my words back and said sorry because I accused them that they are not real Martial Artists. And he told me he will have the applications stuff soon posting in here. That's what I'm waiting for. Hope you get it these time...
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Btw KyosanimLee, I've never said these stuff is junk or cheating. I only said these are not the "real" stuff and not quite "martial" about it. I have great repect to people who can do cool stuff like this and there is nothing wrong with it. But if a person who train nothing but these stuff, he is not a real Martial Artist. You can double check all my pervious comments. Don't understand why you still don't get it.
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Hi again, I do see what you're saying, I think with this kind of forum it's very easy for misunderstabdings to develop out of control. I agree that if a person ONLY trained to do the things shown here then they are not practising complete Martial Arts but then you could say that about a lot of fragmented styles that focus mainly on just grappling or kicking etc.
KyosanimLee 5 years ago
And again, sorry for posting my BS at the wrong place. Sorry to all the Royal Martial Artists.
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
I'm still learning how to use this Youtube thing and am already saving money to buy a DV. But I will post my stuff in the future for sure. Just now having a baby, trying to make a living, will make me take awhile. You know, typical poor Kung-Fu man. I just found out if you type "Bruce Lee" and listen to his interviews, he have a bigger and better perspective what the "truth" is about Martial Art. And the stuff he trains, it's real stuff.
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Thanks for your understanding and I agree with your poin KyosanimLee! The last common is for THEROYALTWIN, because he underestimated Kung-Fu.
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Almost forgot, I have started to train "Chi Kung" awhile ago. Because styles like Bak Mei basicly what you train is "Ging". And using "Ging" require lot of "Chi". Out puting too much "Chi" will make me die young. Still want to do these stuff when I'm 80s ^^
(if you don't understand what I mean, I encourage you open up your mind, do your homework 1st before making fun of Kung-Fu like last time) ^^
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Now, if you really want to know what styles I like, I will tell you. For my size (5ft3), standing styles, I like Bak Mei, (kinda like Wing Chun but it's more agressive and deathly), Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Yen Yee (the bad Jet Li used in movie "The One"). For ground & submissions, I like Jujitsu and expecially the Brazilian style. Wrestling is also very effective but wouldn't suit that well for my size. Hope all these knowledge answered your curiosity :D
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
It's like the all the pieces of a puzzle is everywhere on the table and some of it even got twisted. Today, many of the orient arts like Karate and Taekwondo, was orginally developed from Shaolin Kung-Fu. And Chinese Martial Arts have 4000 yrs of history. Please don't make yourself a fool if you don't know what the word "Kung-Fu" mean at the 1st place (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
I see that you are looking down on "Kung-Fu" and I can see why. Most of the martial arts we see out there are fakes and "Kung-Fu" seems to be the worst. The reason is that Chinese people like to fight themselves. What I mean is that they don't like to share & modify their knowledge together so there are so many different styles of Kung-Fu out there and you don't know what's good and what's bad (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Another example, if you are big, with lot's of strength and like to grab people, wrestling or Jujitsu may suit you. If you want to have a balance life and still can kick ass when you are 90's, Aikido or combat Tai Chi (Train Chen style with Chi Kung) is for you. If you want to win tournaments and be a fighter on TV, Thai style, kick boxing, ufc stuff will suit you. But remember, many die young because they've pushed over their limits or simple got destroyed by the opponents. (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Another example, in Northern China there are lots of flat lands in the pass. So Northern style kung-fus will have more long range moves. But Southern China is opposite. It's very crowded and streets & roads are much smaller. So therefore, close combat moves are more effective. Imagine you have a long staff but you are fighting your opponents in the washroom... you know what I mean ;) (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
For example, during a war or on the street, many ground styles will not be applicable. Because often you need to fight more then 1 person and if you are on the ground, foot prints, spears or knifes cuting mark will be all over your body. So you need to learn something with high mobility so you have place to run away to regroup. But if you want to be a ufc fighter, the situation can be almost opposite. (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Different styles created in the pass is the experience the creators and the follows had. Is like building Lego, adding a piece on one after another (of course some bad martial artist might take out the good stuff and add some bad stuff from time to time). Different history, environment, opponents, and even your own body's size, speed and reflex will have a huge diference in a fighter reacting response (style)(to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Sorry, I was feeding my baby. 1st of all, I want to know how old you are and how long have to train martial art. Your question is like asking chicken 1st or egg 1st. What I can tell you, no style is the most effective and all (most real stuff) can be most effective. (I will explain more in detail...wait...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
just out of curiosity which martial art do you think is the most effective.....and dont say kung fu. ha!
THEROYALTWIN 5 years ago
And forms and katas are important at the beginning (like a baby learns how to walk) because it's the sum of the experiences what the real Masters created in the past. And it should be applicable in real situation (if the master is a real master). Therefore, if one really digested it well (like breaking it down and mix it for different situation), then take out the parts your body don't need, you will start creating some move most effective for your body. This is how it should go.
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Hmmm... I have to disagree with a little here. Yes, I also trying to be a well rounded martial artist too. But application always should come 1st before everything. Because we are training martial art here so aleast to a point we can well protect ourselves.
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
i want to be a well rounded martial artist. it's like doing forms or katas may not help you defend yourself, but it does somethings that regular fighting won't do.
THEROYALTWIN 5 years ago
I understand your point and I'm not againsting it. But don't you think it's sad when you see people are very good at basketball tricks and magic passes and stuff but can't even shoot the ball or do a correct layup and score? I was pissed of the trend today, not with you guys. And I really like you man. Can yo teach me a thing or 2? Because tradition Martial Art don't teach you many of the flashy stuff.
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
It's cool. think of it as shooting baskets vs. playing a game. it has a place but not a very well rounded way to become a great basketball player.
THEROYALTWIN 5 years ago
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
this was compiled when a gentleman from switzerland came to our school to film moves from us specifically for his martial arts trickz website
THEROYALTWIN 5 years ago
One suggestion, if it's a Sampler, and you guys are real martial artists, why don't you guys put more real stuff in your Sampler and at your website at the 1st place to avoid all these misunderstanding?
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
i will thanks for the interest
THEROYALTWIN 5 years ago
Can you add the link here and add all the good stuff about your school here? So I can come check it time to time. Please forgive this grumpy old man don't know how to use YouTube that much. Again, thanks a lot :)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
royal martial arts is the name of the school thus the sampler is called royal martial arts sampler.
THEROYALTWIN 5 years ago
Thanks man THEROYALTWIN! As I said before, I totally agree this is art and I rated it 4 star! If your title is "ROYAL MARTIAL ARTS TRICKS" or "ROYAL MARTIAL ARTS EYE-CANDY," I would have rated it 5 star! In fact I would like to learn a little more of these stuff to add to my forms for Tournaments (I bet you guys won a lot ^^) So if you guys are really really good already, and have the spare time to train tricks like these, I will totally repect it and hands down to the ground :D
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Ill post some real fight footage from us soon. keep on the lookout. i just have to upload it. in fact you may be more impressed with us than some of the ufc fighters.
THEROYALTWIN 5 years ago
I respect it just the way it is. Please check all my pervious comments and I have put a lot in the pass too. So please show me a link about the ufc stuff you were talking about. Because I can't find it anywhere in your website. Most UFC style people use today is more applicable on 1 on 1 situation. But if you guys are doing that stuff, it will be more then good enough to shut me up. Thanks THEROYALTWIN!
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
im oine of the guys in the video and let me tell you, dont let those flashy moves fool you. those guys can fight ufc style. remember what the word art is and thats just what it is...art very beautiful. respect it.
THEROYALTWIN 5 years ago
You get it now KyosanimLee? And it seems everyone in this world love junk food more then anything these days. Not just martial art, I mean everything! People go to school not to gain knowledge but just pass the exam to have a better job for fame and fortune. So quite often we see people cheat in exams. And this, is the attitude pissed me off the most! Sad sad sad world...
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Again I can see how you have come to this conclusion, you have strong beliefs based on experience and no one can take that away from you. Still I really do feel that the skills displayed here have their place and cannot be compared to junk or cheating. Sorry, but I think these are poorly chosen comparisons and disrespectful to the people on display here. You are an experienced Martial Artist, so use that to change the imbalance you see here, post a video.
KyosanimLee 5 years ago
it's like eating a healthy meal.
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
So together what made me upset the most, is people today spend most of their time trainning stuff like these and people seem to have all the attention to the eye candies. I can understand why an outsider thinks like this but pissed me off if an inside guys thinks like this too. And as I said, this, is not Martial Art, why? This is why... (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
For example, a form or a Kata is created by the real masters in the past and it should be applicable & lethal if one know how to use it. And how often do you see them jumping around and have their head up side down in the air all the time? I looked at this ROYAL MARTIAL ARTS website and it seems to me that's all they do! (I might be wrong but that's the impression I get for them.)(to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
1st, what pissed me off is that when I type "Martial Art" for search, I expected to see some real stuff. I spended half day clicking but most I see is people fooling and joking around. Then I saw this clip, wow! almost 5 start! And titled martial art! I got so excited but after I'm done... I finally snapped. (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
I don't mind a person add these stuff to spice it up in a form. In fact, I add quite a few of these stuff to the traditional form for Mix Martial Art Tournaments. Everytime I join a division, I won a medal or trophy (only lost once) and I have quite a few at home (but that's not the point). The point is I understand the value of these flashy stuff (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
The reason I got so pissed is because of people like you, trained for so many years, still don't see the "truth". (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Well I can see what you're saying, I do however think that there is never one "truth", only differing points of view, each one held onto strongly by the person harbouring such a view. We all cling to our own truths because it is these that drive us to do the things we do. But thanks for taking so much time to respond to this, you have my respect Sir.
KyosanimLee 5 years ago
I originally studied HapKiDo 1st so therefore I know how to do some of these "tricks". But after a few years I found that I'm like learning swimming on the ground. Then I switched to Shaolin Crane style for awhile and still found the same problem. Then finally I found this Pak Mei style and stayed for more then 12yrs (I stopped for awhile in between because need to travel different places to work). (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
Kuk Sool Won, right KyosanimLee? Not a bad system at all. But you still don't understand why I'm so pissed. (to be continue...)
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
My comments wern't aimed directly at WhiteEyegbrowJack. I've looked at lots of clips and I do get frustrated when these, very difficult demo skills get constantly dismissed on the grounds of street effectiveness, or lack thereof. Sometimes it all sounds like envy or insecurity, you know, If I can't do it then I don't want it to be called Martial Arts because it's making me feel less confident about my own abilities. I hate that attitude.
KyosanimLee 5 years ago
I like to see practical martial arts, but I like to see the flashy, unpractical side as well. I think it helps to inspire people. I do think that this clip is justified in being here, I will say that. I can't do the things in this clip, to be honest I am more into traditional/applicable arts. I originally learn't boxing, then Karate before moving onto Judo and now for the last 6 years, Kuk Sool.
KyosanimLee 5 years ago
Okay I can see my original comment caused some offence. Wasn't intended, believe it or not. I probably should have taken more care with my words. I have never heard of Pak Mei, but would like to find out more, any websites I can visit to view this?
KyosanimLee 5 years ago
Btw KyosanimLee, please check out the definition of the word "Martial" in the dictionary.
1. Of, relating to, or suggestive of war.
2. Relating to or connected with the armed forces or the profession of arms.
3. Characteristic of or befitting a warrior.
And just to let you know, I'm not talk and big so for sure is not a "lazy fat gits". And I'm damn sure know what I'm talking about when it comes to Martial Art. Have a nice day!
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
LOL, I am having a nice day, thank you.
KyosanimLee 5 years ago
Yes, real martial art may not look as flashy and cool as high flying kicks. But what's up with people these days? Snice when did these gymnastics spinning stuff became "martial art"? No offense, I still love the clip. I gave it 4 star just because this clip is in the wrong category.

Oh, here we go again. Some very talented athletes doing a lot of impressive things that very few people can do. This is going to make a few people envious and insecure so lets harp on about Real situations etc so the lazy fat gits who don't train hard enough can feel better about themselves!!! This is pure art and its impressive!
KyosanimLee 5 years ago
Read the title of this category. It's MARTIAL ART! Not ART! I'm a Pak Mei Instructor myself and all of the stuff we train is applicable on streets. If you know what is "REAL MARTIAL ART", I would like to know how can these moves be applicable. And why people spending so much time trainning on flashy stuff and not much people show the real stuff anymore...
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
this is probably just their demo team messing around. it's supposed to be flashy.
schmill 5 years ago
This is for sure art! But I just not sure how martial they can be...
Just imagine those high flying, easy off balance, flashy spinning super kicks hit something solid and bounce off, or blocked and pushed by some one who can take the blow, I would love to see more of that! ;D
WhiteEyebrowJack 5 years ago
a easy counter for a kick in the air can get u killed, not very practical in real situations
PhsykoOmen 5 years ago
The song is actualy In Flames - Reroute To Remain if im not totaly wrong :p
And what is shown here is just the more "flashyer" part of martial arts. Granted, if this is all they teach at that "school" then it wont do much good, but most types of martial arts teaches stuff that will help you in a fight, its just not as flashy as all the highkicks and spins. (i myself trained martial arts for a while, had to stop due to a bad knee)
steisen 5 years ago
A basic counter against those would be sweep the feet..if they jump..heel the stomach. Not much that can do in a fight..U use what's effective..not what looks cool.
