The free version is pretty good. I'll stick to it because the Professional version costs almost as much as Adobe Flash Pro. Sketchup website has some powerful free Ruby scripts too.

In order to view your house in a different time of day go to view-> toolbars-> shadows. when the toolbar comes up use the slider to change the month and time of day.

you can't compare any programs. Sketch up is pro for conceptualization and primary renders. Use revit or 3ds max for final render and autocad for technical details. if you arent retarded - you'll have the money to buy them or get them for free.

HELP HELP how do i make 3d model smaller or bigger??

Just use the Scale function.

It´s the square within a square Icon.

Select the model - gropu that you want to make bigger or smaller, then use the arrow gides to doit manually or type a scale factos. For example, if you type 2, your model will be sacel to double its original size. If you type .5, it will be half.

Btw....about making multiple section cuts, it took me a lot of stress to realise what they mean by different contexts.

Basically select all of your model, and select one of the section planes...group it...then select that group and another of yourgroup that....you will then be section planes and able to have both section cuts active at the same time...

(group 1 is section plane 1 and model, group 2 is group 1 and section plane 2)
