This Great Qari was born in 1882 and Passed away in 1950. He was the greatest qari all over Egypt. He was also the 1st one to be broadcasted live on radio in 1935. Qari Abdul Basit was his great pupil. Qari Abdul Basit says in his Biography that he would travel almost 8kms on feet in order to listen Quran from Sh M Riffat. He is considered MJADDID (REVIVER) of Qirat

This Qari is new to me...he sounds amazingly melodious. He was the teacher of Abdul basit yes?

Muhammad Rifat passed away in the 1950's? He passed away before Qari Abdul Basit...
