  • when was this recorded?

  • great moment... priceless moment indeed

  • Did he die?

  • ha funny! awesome

bill gates needs a sense of humor

come on i thought he was all nice and funny and rich....

i guess we see what he really is now

  • haha bill got pwned.....thats what he gets for being a ritch bastard lol

  • bill didnt look amused, tosser lol. if u cant laugh wat can u do :)

  • Phew, thought this would be about B^U.

  • Gates looks pissed.

  • Bill made it famous @0:50 lol! Oh that's bad! For those who don't get the joke, a lot of programs tend to lock up and CTRL+ALT+DEL is the only way to stop the process (when pressing the close button doesn't work).

    Good stuff haha.

  • I love this guy :D

  • Either I don't get the joke, or it isn't very funny. Before MS Windows came about, CTRL+ALT+DEL used to mean "instant system reboot" so you would use it to reboot the machine when something went wrong (Microsoft or otherwise). Windows changed it to bring up the Task Manager instead. In this role, its use doesn't mean Microsoft software is crap, which I presume it what the joke is about. It's just a handy keyboard shortcut to the Task Manager (or whatever it's called these days).

  • Old Window systems used to be rather unstable, so one might think he was referring to that. "People always had to reboot Windows 95/98/ME". Joke's in when he saw Bill's expression and defining further that he actually meant the log on screen of NT (and not the unstable Windows'.

  • It's just a simple joke about Windows' reputation of locking up all the time. In other words, before Windows, this function was rarely used, but now it is used all the time.

  • Being a new chum, think it shows the deficiencies in windows explorer, even today

  • LOL! perfect foot in mouth item and then back pedaling as fast as he can ...

Have to admit it was a good one that he actually called to mind that ALT-CNTRL-DEL was used for NT Login. Still is used on Windows Server too for Login.

  • bill gates reminds me of kermit the frog

  • oh poor Bill he can go cry into his millions made from inferior products.

  • Bill laughs at your mere "millions".

  • "Ok Soooooooo?"

  • Bill doesn't look amused.

  • owned

  • Beautiful moment.

  • nerdkward

  • Bahahhaa

  • 0:32

  • 0:34

  • A deeply awkward moment amongst a group already considered awkward.

  • It hurts because it's true.

  • Wow, Bill Gates was being a little bitch about it. You're a fucking billionaire, calm the fuck down and just be happy.

  • I didn't see him being a bitch there. Hell, looked like he had a bit of a smile forming, actually.

  • Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayum.

  • lol hit squad is gonna come knocking

  • Relax Bill, don't believe your own lies, Windows used to hang *all* the time back in the day.

  • u all noobs i use dos.

  • u r a g4yn00b. I use bash.

  • Screw you, I use zsh.

  • These comments stink of Windows fantard-dom.

  • I don't think Bill got the joke. He wasn't upset, just confused and trying to hide it.

  • It's funny because Windows crashes all the time because it's unreliable, and "Bill" invented Windows.

  • if windows crashes all the time your computer is broken :)

  • Correction: if you're using Windows and it keeps crashing, you're just an idiot. User error is the cause of over 9000 crashes every day, most of it has nothing to do with Windows. Or it's hardware failure. And don't say other platforms don't experience hardware failure, I'd have to kill you.

  • No, a good piece of software does not crash no matter what the user does. "user error" is not an excuse.

  • no that is a "perfect" piece of software. and perfection is something that is impossible. there will always be a way to mess up anything.

  • Sorry dude, but LieutenantClone is right. You might not be able to make it perfectly robust against user error, but any piece of software can have one metric of its quality be measured as its distance toward that goal of perfection. And compared to other OSs, Windows is pretty far away from that goal.

  • Windows is an unstable platform. I have firefox crashing 9001 times a day on my work computer. I can't even save a goddamn file without it breaking.

And a GOOD OS resists user error. I've never experienced unstability on my Arch Linux laptop, my Sabayon/DragonflyBSD desktop, nor my Debian server.

90% of Windows' unstability is its own fault for shitty kernel coding and not resisting user error. The rest is hardware failure.

  • "I have firefox crashing 9001 times a day" -- because firefox sucks.

Funny how you mention resisting user error and you bring up Linux as the example? Ironic, for an OS that has yet to implement undelete.

  • Firefox sucks?

lolwat? Firefox is the fastest, most secure, AND most extensible browser to date. IE is shit, Chrom is alright, Safari sucks, and Opera is mediocre at best.

And Linux has a trash, which is comparible with the Windows recycle bin, and as for undeleting undeleting, that's a blessing. It keeps people from snooping your deleted files.

Know what you're talking about before you post next time, please.

  • Safari's pretty decent, although Safari 4 still has a bunch of bugs to iron out. I prefer webkit to gecko though, so I'm quite biased ;)

  • Safari has almost as many bugs as IE.

It's got a long way to go before making it to be level with Firefox.

Try Arora, it's a small WebKit Browser, and wicked fast. And with none of the security exploits of Safari.

  • Safari 4 is noticeably more... uncompliant than Safari 3, I agree. But as for being level with Firefox, that I disagree with. If I want firebug, noscript, and other extensions, I'll use Firefox, but since I'm on a Mac, Safari's UI feels a lot more integrated and smooth with the general Mac UI. Just a personal preference, though.

I'll check out Arora, thanks for the heads-up. I won't take your word that it has none of the security exploits of Safari, but I'll be sure to browse the source ;)

  • Safari, and really the Mac UI in general has always, in my opinion, felt clunky and unintuitive. [Except the dock. I fucking LOVE the dock.]

    And I seriously can't browse without Ad-Block. Oh, God, I love Ad-Block.

Anyway, check Arora out, it's great for a lightweight browser. And if you're on a mac, you might want to try out Camino as well.

  • Firefox is widely known as a bloated RAM hog. If your ff is crashing "9001" times a day you either have way too many extensions running or you're just a moron. The idea that you actually think a kernel has anything to do with non-privileged applications crashing is just idiotic. FF barely even makes any system calls.

PS. "Linux" doesn't have a trash. A few of the many bullshit and unstable X managers do. Gnome/KDE have crashed on me more than FF ever has.

  • Fucking nerd, seriously.

  • I know how to use a computer, so that makes me a nerd?

    Fucking ignorant shits, seriously.

  • As someone else already said, there will /always/ be a way to break a piece of software. You're likely not experiencing user error because you know enough of computers to not break them; however, that does not make you correct or better.

By the way, I don't know why you think Firefox is the greatest, it sucks RAM like a Taiwanese hooker. And it's interface is unrefined. It lacks over 9001 features. And most secure? The instant a browser is that popular, it's going to be exploited.

  • Your quotations are misplaced.

    It should read:

    Bill "invented" Windows.

  • If my mistakes made me a billionaire, I might not laugh at them during an interview, but I....NAH! I'd laugh.

  • macs crash too

  • compared to windows? psh...macs are MUCH more stable.

  • People thumbing you down obviously don't know what a kernel panic is. How how notorious cmd-apple-period used to be(when it worked).

  • Bill has absolutely no sense of humor. He's sittin' there thinking to himself, "ok well I'm just gonna' have to go ahead and release some hiv robo mosquitoes on your ass ok...thanx."

  • Comment removed

  • no still the same-

    Ctrl+Alt+Del

  • Actually Ctrl + Alt + Del takes you to the "ctrl alt del"-screen, while ctrl shift esc brings up the task manager directly.

  • Actually, it isn't

  • ctrl-shift-esc works on XP and 2000 as well.

  • that dude is my savior!!!

without him, we'd all be fucked!

  • Poor Bill

  • dude fuck his ass ... stupid bitch getting all butthurt what a homo

  • "This is no joking matter Mr. Bradely." "Now where is my pocket protector."

  • you know he got fired afterwords

  • What a dummy, you dont ever tell a man like Bill gates the truth. Especially that is greatest accomplishment freezes like...... well freezes like a windows computer.

  • Bill's not taking this too well.

  • aha this is amazing.

  • Lol, looks like Bill doesn't know how to take a joke.

  • Best computer joke ever. BECAUSE IT'S TRUE!!

  • Why the hell is this not available?!

  • ooooh someone's gonna have hitmen at his door soon

  • He was okay up until he tried to justify himself, then he really put his foot in his mouth.

  • Yea, It felt to much like backpedaling when he tried to justify it but it was still damn funny.

  • That would be total pwnage except bill is richer than all of put together. (rough estimate)

  • ouch xD

  • Woopse... Looks like someone took a big dump on Gates :D

  • I personally love ctrl+alt+delete, simply because of how easy it is to access programs and processes that are currently running, as well as see the system resources. It makes dealing with unresponsive programs very easy, and makes controlling annoying software a bit easier.

  • Bill got PISSED

  • I love Ctrl+Alt+Del its awesome! But I guess the richest man in the world cant laugh anymore he is so rich

  • Bill Gaytes is Gay

  • You wish you had his money.

  • and to think...that guy is my ECE 109 teacher

  • lol!

Yep Bill, just sit there and suck it up...

  • you can see Bill was SO offended. The dude cant take a joke. that was fucking funny shit

  • is not a joke is a threat.

  • Hilarious! Gotta love the classic button setup, will it ever die?

  • LOL! had.
