I have never understood what the appeal of F class is. It is basically still a dorm room sharing with 12 or 16 other passengers. The difference between cattle class and modern C class is huge and worth the extra money but I don't really see the point of First.

there was supposed to be a new F soon but i don't think its happening, and now business has bigger screens (touch screens) F may not be worth it, they should just stick business screens in the sockets of the existing ptv's

The new first class is due for launch in January/February 2010, but wont be announced until at least 50% of the fleet is converted. Boeing 777s are being done first, followed by the 747

You are right - that is a small TV! We are flying First again in a couple of weeks (combination of a Club World sale and an upgrade) on a fllight from Phoenix which has the upgraded planes - so maybe it will be even better (only the TV sucked - everything else was unbelievable).

On some of the 777s the first class ptvs are a joke, especially when behind you people in club have bigger ones. Never understood why they didn't upgrade them

did you get upgraded before you got to the airport? usually thats where theyll do it, did you pay for the upgrade or was was it the economy seat rate that you got upgraded to business and then 1st, thx

We have been in First twice now. The first time we purchased an upgrade offered at the airport ($400 on a Prem Economy seat we had upgraded to Club World). The second time I purchased Club World in a sale and used miles to upgrade to First one way.

Thanks for posting that info! I thought they were remodeling both Club World and First and was wondering what they could do to make First better - because it was fantastic. I was checking BA this morning for flights to England next year.

Yes, this was an unremodelled plane out of Dallas. Most BA planes have a new First and Club World - but I have not been on one of these yet.

Actually, as a BA crew member...who works in this cabin often..I have to say that this is the currant First cabin...the "new one" has not been unveiled yet. Club world is rolling out on the 777 ( this a/c ) as we speak

There are actually a couple of pictures of the new First on BA's recent investor presentation.

It seems to be the same footprint as before, with rather wonderful looking blinds and just that wonderfully stylish and sexy look that you should expect from a modern BA.

But maybe you know about this now...
