i live at Picton which is the neighbouring town to thirlmere
i visit the museum often and even though the 3801 was the biggest project there are many more engines that have been left to rust and should be restored
along with some old rail car which include some royalty cars (owned by the queen)
My father was a driver and a fireman of 3801, I also got to ride on the engine more than once. There are better videos than this. 3801 and 3830 are real BEAUTIES.

Of course the XPT can beat 3801. I only wish they showed the race. Both of them are legends but 3801 is a bigger one.
