@4444zoey1 My hair is naturaly stright, was long at the time and very heavy and it worked for me!
I guess you can't really know what it will be like on your hair until you try it. It does work for me, but it is very time consuming and I am very slow doing it, so I dont do it very often.
@MistiqueMakeup ummmm i tried it last night...but not my whole hair only half of it....but when i woke up i tried to take it off and its not really as perfect as yours!!!!!!....do i need to put mousse in my hair????...i dont have mousse but i have a hairspray named DT OR DAILY TOUCH!!!!!could i use it???(pls reply)
@4444zoey1 it depends on your hair really. I have heard from a few people that they find when they use mouse or anything in their hair, their hair goes a bit frizzy when they take it out. Mine did a little, you can see at the top, maybe that is the reason why? I use a sleeking syrem to help smooth things down :)
I tried that last night. I didn't get my whole head. the bobby pins kept falling out or hair would fall out of the bobby pins. I need to find those clips. I need more practice. I am a total amature when it comes to styling hair.
@petitemusicienne My hair is very very straight, and it is very diffecult to me to get a good curl in it. If I use curling tongs, or a straighter to curl it, the fall out very fast. Pin curling or using Hot Sticks is the best way that I have found so far for me to get a curl like this. It held for a long time.
It is harder to do with really long hair, I think the best suggestion would just be do use smaller sections so that you can get all of the hair into the pin curl. Good luck!
yeah i guess so. I mean I have nevery tried it with short hair because I haven't had short hair in a long time, but as long as you had an inch or so to play with I think you should be able to. Just might take a bit of practace :)
I am wondering how long this really took you. I would love to do it to my hair, but it looks so time consuming. Plus, my hair is literally four or five times thicker than yours. Is my only short cut option to get bigger clips and make bigger sections?
It took me a few hours to do. I don't do it that often, so it still takes me a while to do, but again the more you do it the quicker you will get.
I would be very suprised if your hair was much thicker than mine. My hair is very thick and long, but if you are having trouble you could use larger pins, but I would try doing smaller sections. I find the more hair I have in a section the harder it is to do. hope that helps!
What are the exact "pins" you used for your set?? I'm wanting some curls on my short hair, and this might be the way to go for me. I wish you could give me a set.

@amandanicole624 I think it would be easier with sorter hair. It was a mission and a half to get all of my hair done when it is long!

Two questions:
1. Is this supposed to work well on straight hair?
2. My hair is long and thick, so what's the best way to try this?

how would some one do pin curls on shorter hair? would it be smart to have a pro do it for me?
Giddget 2 years ago
well maybe bobbypins arent the best. but thats what was used alot back then wasnt it?
whiteedk 2 years ago
you could use them of corse, but you need to becareful so that they don't leave a kink in your curl :)

They are pin curl clips. You should be able to find them at a drug store for around $2-3 :)
