From what I've heard ayahuasca isn't gentle. It's name literally means "vine of death". Also, it cleans out your system pretty violently. Not bad, but shitting yourself still sucks :P Wouldn't call it gentle anyways.

@ScissorHand26 well, I've done ayahasca an number of times - both in Peru and Europe and it was no problem. But when I say gentle I mean in comparison to DMT in terms of the psychedelic effects... its the difference between chewing coca leaves and snorting cocaine... one is in the natural state the other is in the super concentrated chemical extract from.
@ahhhhjjjj Ayahuasca typically lasts about 4-5 hours. Pure DMT lasts about 5-10 minutes. The former allows for an unfolding progression of visions within which one can orientate oneself... the latter does not, its too short and for the most part too strong. Suggest you read 'The Jaguar which Roams the Mind' for more info on ayahuasca... also plenty of internet forums.
Everybody should realise that what joe is talking about was speculated by Rick Strassman mostly known for his work in The Spirit Molecule, but even HE admits that it is only speculation and not fact as everyone takes it.

@hackerwacker4 Smoking it is the most common way, I prefer to take it in tab form since it lasts much longer and isn't as intense. But if you don't have 10-12 hours to trip your balls off, I'd stick to smoking it. I'm not sure how much DMT it would take to make you insane... I took 600mg (2 tabs) the first time and the trip was a bit too much for me. I ended up having to Xanax myself and sleep it off. Around 200mg seems to be a good amount. If you're smoking it, I'd use even less.
@chvyant For sure, the mind loves chaos. When people have bad trips it's generally not from scary hallucinations but during the 'empty' periods when higher conscious thought stops. Instead of going with it they try to fill the void because they've never experienced nothingness before and it freaks them out.

But when I say gentle I mean in comparison to DMT in terms of the psychedelic effects... its the difference between chewing coca leaves and snorting cocaine... one is in the natural state the other is in the super concentrated chemical extract from.

@ahhhhjjjj Ayahuasca typically lasts about 4-5 hours. Pure DMT lasts about 5-10 minutes. The former allows for an unfolding progression of visions within which one can orientate oneself... the latter does not, its too short and for the most part too strong. Suggest you read 'The Jaguar which Roams the Mind' for more info on ayahuasca... also plenty of internet forums.

I'd like it if Joe Rogan to tried to get a show/documentary made where theoretical physicists, philosophers, and celebrities (to get ratings) take DMT, ayahuasca, iboga, or salvia for scientific/philosophical research, and then discuss the experience from a personal and professional perspective.
I think with Joe's charisma , and the insights provided it could be something positive and popular.

I have thoughts way deeper than Joe Rogan, understanding of universe is depressing for human brain, your brain fights against it and creates distractions on purpose, from this aspect religions are the most obvious distraction created by your brain, a quick psychology and biology lesson will explain that. Consciousness doesn't require a physical form, I've flown backwards through my own DNA and into the universe. If everyone on the planet was required to do DMT in some form at least once the world would become closer to what we really want it to be. Nobody I know has ever regretted taking DMT.

Having the experience (with a psychedelic) is a really unreasonable reason to believe that. There are many ways to interpret your experience and many possible causes. You also don't seem to be aware of modern physics. The same laws apply on Mars as here, that's why were able to go out into space. If the math changed all our calculations would be wrong. @hackerwacker4 Smoking it is the most common way, I prefer to take it in tab form since it lasts much longer and isn't as intense. But if you don't have 10-12 hours to trip your balls off, I'd stick to smoking it. I'm not sure how much DMT it would take to make you insane... I took 600mg (2 tabs) the first time and the trip was a bit too much for me. I ended up having to Xanax myself and sleep it off. Around 200mg seems to be a good amount. If you're smoking it, I'd use even less.
