  • You can work hard and still suck, you don't get famous just from hard work, you need the talent then you build on it, you can't make chicken salad from chicken shit, you need talent.

  • Y dicen que Slash es mejor, bah... cuanta ignorancia :( .

  • I just downloaded some Jeff Beck. I am torn between the two None the less, Steve Howe and Jeff Beck are the best that has ever been. Fuck Clapton.

  • At 3:07 he regurgitates his plectrum!!

  • One of the great tragedies of music, both Steve Howe and Steve Hackett were left off of Rolling Stones top 100 guitarist list.

  • 24 people are in a bad mood today

  • Classic. I could play this alright when I was a young pup with nimble fingers. Forget about it now LOL

  • I just turned 50 and I have never grown tired of hearing this.

When I meet a young "guitarist" I ask them to play this for me...

    Blank faces...

    Talent=WORK

  • @sheracad Haha. Yup. Natural gift and hard work. Great song writing. Fuck just playin it. Write stuff like that. Thats the real kicker.

  • lol... the faces hes makin xD ... hes playin flamenco not hard rock x)

  • This is unusual in that he's playing MFAD on a regular acoustic rather than a classical guitar. Probably 95% of the time he plays this on a classical.

  • This is the meaning of making love to a guitar!

  • awesome

  • I learned this song when it came out (90%) It is still is a wonderful number. Anyone that plays that song knows how tuff it is to perform.

  • Emozionante .......

  • The world would be a better place if popular music still sounded this way.

  • só ele mesmo. Um exemplo de bom gosto.

  • he swallowed the pick around 1:42

  • He looks like he is trying to pass a 20kg stool.

  • At around :16, Howe makes a face like the one that Dana Carvey used to make fun of, in his guitar humor bit. "I like when guitar players switch chords and act surprised, like it's a magic trick or something." Howe always made the best faces.

  • @skybluemarshall True but he was allowed. He was goofin with the audiance. He don't see himself like the audiance does. Audiance sees him as some great vertuo guitarist. He don't he is very humble but likes making it out to be tuff for the wanna be's. He's goofin bro :)

  • Fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 24 guies that voted NOT OK are definitively deaf, maybe dumb and blind...

  • GEANT !!!!

  • Which pixel is Steve?

  • best face 2:03

  • ALUCINANTE!!! TRISTEZA POR UN DIA!!! TENGO 51 AÑOS Y DESDE LOS 9 AÑOS QUE SOY FANATICA DE YES Y PODER VER ESTE MATERIAL..... ME HACE VOLAR Y VIVIR MAS FELIZ!!!! GRACIAS A QUIEN LO SUBIO. MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Extraordinario

  • I think Steve and Robin Trower should have a guitar playing facial expression contest. Who would win?

  • ugly ass nigga

    pro at guitar<3

  • 1:37 he swallows his plectrum!!! xD

  • Only someone who plays with that much soul (and isn't afraid to show it) is a true musician

    .

  • Zeapheria - It's a first inversion. The ending chord is D major D, F#, A. The F# is put in the bottom position.

  • I love that part at 1:44

  • Simplemente maravilloso!!!

  • tis true, its flamenco inspired classical

  • did he eat his pick?

  • this guitar style could be latinamerican folklore

  • I've always wondered, why does steve play that off-beat note at the end? Anyone know why?

  • @Zeapheria best guess as someone who has flamenco and classical virtuoso friends,is the counter pointing during piece is like separate written line in classical, like different instrument in some cases, like tuba,or cello/bass,and it concludes w/the counterpoint melody...

  • MARAVILHOSO!!!

  • beautiful....medieval and latinesque guitar player in the same song

  • Hey you'd make those faces too if you could play like that

  • 2:48 NX 0 and Marcelo D2 Copied this solo!!

    But steve Howe is awesome!!

  • @theBRENNOGUITAR nx nem participou disso, o Di cantou o refrão só, nada a veer com o solo, nem o tulio, o dj q fez a msk q plagiou, o tulio só usou a base desse dj e rimou

  • someone not liking this comes to show there are really dumb people in his world. this is sublime.

  • Those facial expressions are so Pat Metheny, another brilliant guitarist

  • emocionante vosso solo...

  • OM NOM NOM!

  • Such a beautiful piece.

  • VERY REAL MASTER OF ALL ¡¡¡ MOUNTREUX ?? BUT WHAT YEAR ??

  • what a gem of a man

  • steve howe and jimmy page are my heroes

  • filadaputa tocapakcete!!!!!!!Animarrr,,,10++++++

  • A Giant of Music playing a song of Eternity!

    Long Live Howe!

  • Open G ...lol!

  • 20 people clicked dislike cause they wana know why he swallowed his pick @1.37

  • @TheLeeHaaM XD taste's like success

  • @TheLeeHaaM

Well, he spit it back out at the end. rofl.

  • wow, at 1:36 he ate his pick

  • @2010lils Yeah lol, pretty sneaky

  • Steve Howe and Alex Lifeson are my favorites.

  • @MaxtheMetalhead Dude, two best prog guitarists ever. Followed closely by Steve Hackett.

  • This guy has pure talent!

  • lol, schreiben ohne nachzudenke xD

keine ahnubg, was ich mit den saiten wollte, aber auf jeden fall sollte des ne anspieleung auf schmerz werden...

  • sitzt der aufm klo oder sind seine saiten aus stahlseil?

    (arz würde helfen)

  • "brachys ho bios, he de techne makra"

  • This deserves more views!! :/

  • so beutiful although why doesnt he play this on the spanish guitar which sounds even nicer

  • Timeless, Beautiful song by a beautiful artist.

  • Terry Kath was better.

  • @job777able

Lenny Breau urinated on Terry Kath.

  • @67goldtops do you mean that in the literal sense or do you just mean he's better than hiim?lol

  • @codebabe

He was better than him. However, I have no first hand knowledge of Kath's propensity for being a golden shower recipient. So, I can't say for sure...

  • @67goldtops yeah he was better than Kath, but Kath is underrated enough that saying someone is better than him is kind of moot if you know what I mean. Breau was a freak of nature.

  • @job777able Music is not competition.

  • Watch him play slide guitar in the Going For The One Sessions. He's like one with the slide guitar. Totally lost in the moment.

  • one of the greatest pieces of music ever written in the history of mankind

  • Well said PFTome, Steve Howe feels the music, and is having fun. (This is what he loves). Just because it's not an extremely technical piece doesn't mean he can't convey emotion. Music like this uses feeling, something Steve Howe's not afraid to show. I'm sure these classical musicians iron is talking about have just as much ado, you're just not seeing it.

  • Steve Howe is one of the best all-around guitarists ever.

  • ummm, te peguei no flagra Túlio Dek :P

  • Steve Howe and Al Di Meola are my faves

  • @ironbuttermilk I dont think the facial expresions are a show he is putting on, he is feeling the music and that is how it comes out. Have you ever watched David Gilmour's face when he is really into something? You would think he was mentally challenged just looking at his face. But that is what makes a great musician in my mind, it's not just a routine for them, the music flows out of them. However, I could be wrong about Howe.

  • OK, I've had an azzfull of people saying this musician or that musician is "underrated". Steve Howe has performed on a dozen or more Yes albums, 17+ solo albums, 2 Asia albums, one GTR album, gold records/platinum records. He was voted "Best Overall Guitarist" in Guitar Player magazine five years in a row (1977–1981) and was inducted into Guitar Player's "Gallery of Greats" in 1981. Steve Howe is NOT "underrated". He is rated pretty damn well in my book.

  • I'm not putting Steve down, he's great. . . . but this is not all that hard to play, and his grimaces make it look like it's Really Hard. LOL. I like this piece, but he emotes too much, as though he's got strings made of broken glass. I've seen classical guitarist's playing things ten times harder with less ado. But whatever, Rock audiences hadn't much heard this stuff when Steve played this, and he was giving a 'performance'.

  • Dreams,,, King Artur and Escalibur ,,,, MAGIC MAGIC MAGIC,

THANKS STEVE, i love your song

  • I think this is my favorite non-vocal acoustic guitar piece of all time :)

  • incredible

  • Phuckingphenominal!

  • Es un maestro, no hay palabra con la cual describirlo.

  • Steve Howe has a wife for each finger.

  • one of the most underrated guitarists ever

  • Steve is a virtuoso and a true gentleman (I had the pleasure of meeting him twice). Not many can compare to this man in any genre. Also, he was very sexy back then! Just my opinion, of course... ;-))

  • Steve is a virtuoso and a true gentleman (I had the pleasure of meeting him twice). Not many can compare to this man in any genre.

  • 17 people are afraid of Steve Howe Facial expressions.

  • @Dashn1YT-17 people are dumb...

  • @Dashn1YT he is like stevie ray vaughan! lol

  • The only one who could have came close to Steve on classical guitar would have been Randy Rhoads {RIP} My personal opinion of course.

  • También... es el guitarrista de YES.

  • También... es el guitarrita de YES.

  • mick jagger?

  • @Alejandro4891 so true. i love steve howe's music but jeez is that mug difficult to look at.

  • holiday dating site # lushfmlk.info #

  • steve is a great guitarist and a perfect fit for YES. his pedal steel work is beautiful. he is a very unselfish player...I like his style and he can play most everything..he is unique and yeah he looks a bit oddd at times but hell who doesn't !?

  • aff túlio dek e di ferrero não iriam plagiar esse lixo ¬¬

  • a brasilian band called "nx zero" plagiarized this song,if anione wants to take a look:

    /watch?v=UUZG19b7tno

  • too a the 16 idiots who disliked this guitarist... not bad for a guy who is self taught... friggen morons, Steve is one of the most influential guitarist of that era. period.

  • @Redliner500 Steve is one of the most influential guitarist of ANY era my friend. The best in his category of music hands down to me. Hendrix, Van Halen, Malmsteen or no one else can hold a candle to this guy when it comes to technical proficiency.

  • I do hope the people making comments about his facial expressions and soulless playing are being sarcastic. But then there are a lot of clueless morons haunting Youtube, to be sure. The guy did more to introduce pop and rock music fans to fingerstyle guitar than any other human.

  • 16 people dont have teh mad haxorz

  • Guitarra con toques clásicos, una canción perfecta que de seguro pasará a la historia de la música...

    MOOD FOR A DAY!!

    YES!!!

  • who is this fag?? terrible lame soulless fagmenco..he needs some lessons terrible timing and passionless

  • Steve Howe and David Gilmour are my fave guitar players.

  • @Colddeed I agree, and in that order! :)

  • @Colddeed Alex Lifeson From Rush is up there too

  • @Colddeed Yes!!!!!!!

  • 16 fãs de NxZero

  • A self taught guitarist from one of the most musically creative periods of time. Thank you for posting this song SchizoidXXI. Being female, I had a lot of fun and fond memories learning his music. and teaching it to the guys . lol. As for his body language, he IS the music., not the pretend music kids are playing today ; / AND.. HE is the one on stage. HE made it . Performing with an actual guitar and Not a piece of plastic in front of a tv. hmmm......

    thanks and love you Steve.

  • He can breathe life into a guitar while he plays. This goes far beyond technique. If these expressions are necessary for it, then that's fine. It shows me that he plays guitar with passion. By the way, 16 people agree, that they have no ears to hear and have no hearts to feel.

  • Grande Steve

  • CLASS ... no wonder Brian May had to get some help on Innuendo!

  • 16+ people thought it said dis-i-like

  • 16 assholes thumb this down?? oh well i know for a fact steve was and still is a superstar guitar player. he definatly deserves to go to the rock and roll hall of fame!!

  • SUBLIME

  • why does he look like a retard when he plays

  • @rollipolioli cuz hes steve fucking howe

  • @rollipolioli cause he is trying to be you

  • Rascame el culo.

  • This is unusual because he's playing this tune on a regular acoustic instead of a classical guitar. He normally plays Mood For A Day on the classical - it sounds better - and there weren't many instances of this.

  • Without question, one of the most under-rated guitarsist in history. You rarely, if ever see his name on the top guitarist of all-time list (Yet I remember Rolling Stone came out with a list a few years back which had Curt Cobain in the top 10, which is complete lunacy in itself, while Steve wasn't even ON the Darned list???!). Steve Howe was an AMAZING guitarist and anybody with half-an ear should be able to notice this.

  • @TPRoddy1968 by "top" they mean most popular although people confuse it with "best"

  • @jwelsh149

Top/Best same thing if you ask me, either way you don't see his name brought up much, which is a shame...

  • @TPRoddy1968 Cobain can't play like Howe but Howe couldn't play like Cobain lol

  • Awesome!!!

  • They don't make gituarists like this anymore, shame

  • does any1 think dat he does those facial expressions bcuz of the name of the song hes like tryin 2 do a bunch of emotions??? i mean he doesnt rlly do it elsewhere so idk . . .

  • @ledzepp549 XD nice

  • It is easy how to spell the name is of the best guitarplayer in the world.

    Just write HOWE :-)

  • He's clearly got something jammed up his ass.

  • hes playing like a motherfucker.

  • the best guitarist ever

  • @zonaccino

    no

    it's at 0:23 ahaha(;

    but seriously he's the best

  • ugly or not, you play guitar like that there will be groupies waiting for you back stage

  • @zonaccino that would be more 0:22

  • HOW DOES HE DO THAT?

  • We are lucky to have him around still to show is all how its done! He is so gifted, talented and wants to share his music with us. Thank you Steve Howe!!!

  • 1:38 , watch the plagiarism of Brazilian singers /watch?v=KHmy0MJkKgA

  • Scientific studies show that guitarists have to practice their guitar face or they don't become good players. You can tell Howe is great in the opening chords.

  • He looks like he's taking a shit !!

  • Hey, I make faces when i play too!!! Right on! It means ur feeling it, attempting to feel it, or are in the process of feeling the music, for those non-musicians out there. And one could equate it with the esctasy one gets in sexual arousal. The feeling that music provides to the sensitive ear of the listening musician, can be very hypnotic and arousing, not unlike sex or squeezing a dookie for that matter, as these other comments would suggest.

  • I get aroused just by listening to yes...

  • I do the same faces when I'm ejaculating

  • His face shows that the music comes from his guts...he really feels it.

  • This guy reminds me of Paco De Lucia both EPIC

  • Ugly ort not ,Steve Howe is one of the Greatest classical Guitarist Rock Music has Ever seen !!!

  • Love this man!!! I would love to see them live!

  • excellent

  • I make those same facial expressions in the bathroom hahaha but yea badass song killer guy

  • No solo era un excelente guitarrista elecrico sino tambien un GRAN guitarrista acustico, TODO UN MAESTRO!

  • po veio, tu tem um conhecimento musical explendido !

  • Tres Bon...Tres Bon

  • un virtuoso!..si la guitarra suena a clavecìn!

  • To be a good guitarist it is essential to be able to pull funny faces.

  • his facial expression mean that he is into it. heknows he shit is top notch. face it. he is jammin! what a song. deffinently gives u a certain mood

  • pure passion in his music- thats why he,s so great!!!!!

  • This guy was a part of Yes! One of the great bands who are not forgotten, in their musicianship or their spirit!

  • His face is absolutely priceless.

    What a genius

  • I do some killer facial expressions, like Steve's here, while doing air guitar.

  • pheeeeeew, god damn! I'm speechless. Steve Howe is a god

  • perfect song to learn for any serious beginner

  • STEVE HOWE RULES PLAY ON

  • feel, not think
