One of the best things about Springsteen was his decision to link his music to Pete Seeger and the folk tradition.

That said, I wonder how soon we're gonna get the "Seeger's a goddamn commie" types coming out of the woodwork in this thread.

Should they appear, let me state this for the record.

Pete Seeger quit the CP in 1950. Therefore, it doesn't matter if he was in the party before that.

Pete didn't owe it to anybody to waste the rest of his life bashing the CP.
