You are right, and it's not bad thing if Warcraft IV would base on WoW, however what most of us are concerned about is, that what if Warcraft IV would continue where the last WoW expansion "ends"....it would be so damn confusing and lame for us all WC RTS fans, if all the great villains would be dead, new characters we know nothing about and so on...

@rexxar12345 Wow has about as much lore as WC 1 2 and 3. It is just presented differently. Such as being told stories by the NPCs. also You read the quests. which most people dont. There are also books and scrolls all over azeroth that tell different parts of the story. the game is set up way after WC3 so you are looking at the lore from the view point of someone that has to study history from folktales and ancient writings. well not all are ancient but a good bit are.

But furthurmore, what tends to irk me, is that the death's of these major character's such as the Lich King seemed downplayed compared to their roles in Warcraft 3, etc. You see them as powerful and fascisnating characters but then in WoW, they are merely weekly sources of loot. I also worry/wonder about the WC4 storyline (assuming it is made).
They can't continue with warcraft because WoW is after warcraft 3, making it impossible to make a pre-quel to what's supposed to be a sequel. Having to update and re-finance WoW and it's story line in general :D
More than one statement of Blizzard says that history of warcraft is not affected by WoW. But is true, if it come out, it will be not tomorrow, maybe in a couple of years. At the moment the have starcraft2 giving much profit and it planned addons.
After that there will be most likely a Warcraft IV. There are enough statements given by blizzard to prove that...
But maybe we have to wait like the period between sc1 and sc2 ;)
There are several human Kingdoms in WoW lore. The Kingdom of Lordaeron was the dominant Kingdom in the north, and the other smaller Kingdoms around it mostly deferred to its power. To the south was the Kingdom of Stormwind, who are the playable humans. They're as powerful as Lordaeron was.

Even Arthas cannot be completely blamed for his devotion to his country land. He was Fighting for his people to the end. I would not leave my country while I believe it can be saved and it would take me to see that EVERYTHING is lost for me to leave my country. So I cant understand Arthas and he was heading to a City that he thought might be plagued. His Countrymen. He had no time to listen. Jaina was the only one in a position to do this Arthas and Terenas had a duty to fight to the end.
King Terenas was Old you must remember. He is far too old to be leading his people to Kalimdor and fighting the Night Elves , Undead and Orcs and they did not know that the Plague was the Undead so he had no reason to go on such a long journey. How would you act if some dude walked up to you and said move to the north or you die.

The best thing would have been to let them draw their own opinion by hinting one piece of information at a time. However, this is a rather slow process.

You can consider him a mage, but since he (in warcraft 1) summons a deamon when you rush ( as the humans ) to kill him. You could also consider him a bit of a warlock. Eventually in warcraft 3 ( and now?), being a prophet, he probably still has great magic powers. But a druid? Druids do not use arcane magic, it's not because he can change into a crow or raven that he's a druid :)

Medivh is not a druid. first of all, he's actually dead...this is like his pseudo spirit/whatever. second of all, in life he was an UBER powerful mage, the most powerful ever. so, if you want to call him anything he's a mage.
May I suggest the book "Arthas" as well as the book "The Last Guardian". Those of you who does not know Medivh should really get your reading glasses on, since he's one of the most amazing character in the Warcraft universe.

He is far too old to be leading his people to Kalimdor and fighting the Night Elves , Undead and Orcs and they did not know that the Plague was the Undead so he had no reason to go on such a long journey. How would you act if some dude walked up to you and said move to the north or you die.
Furthermore it was ARTHAS who was the stupid one for not seeing the truth. but Arthas is cool in his Paladin AND Death Knight Form..Even though I do prefer his Paladin

"Heya, im Medivh, sorry for messing up that last time, but the plague is created by the undead out to kill you all and the demons are coming to spank you, please forge an alliance with the races in kalimdor and run for your lives."

He was possesed, opened up the portal which brought in the horde of orcs. In that way he did fail humanity indeed. You can consider him a mage, but since he (in warcraft 1) summons a deamon when you rush ( as the humans ) to kill him. You could also consider him a bit of a warlock. Eventually in warcraft 3 ( and now?), being a prophet, he probably still has great magic powers. But a druid? Druids do not use arcane magic, it's not because he can change into a crow or raven that he's a druid :)

Is that a human Druid? Then the humans might become druids in the new WoW expansion? would be cool. I 1st thought it was a Night Elf... when one of the new races in Warcraft 3 is Nelfs. Anyway, only druids can transform into animals/Birds. Maybe he have been teached by a Nelf or Tauren... he know well about Kalimdor.. and both of em is there..

Medivh is not a druid. first of all, he's actually dead...this is like his pseudo spirit/whatever. second of all, in life he was an UBER powerful mage, the most powerful ever. so, if you want to call him anything he's a mage.

This need clarification once and for all:
Medivh is not a priest or druid. He's a mage, or "Magus" and falls under the category of "Guardian of Tirisfal" when it comes to school of magic.
No Priest. No Druid.
People are way too obsessed with the fact that he can turn into a raven. That doesn't make him a druid.
When Medivh says he will find another who will, he ment no one individual in particular, but had several in mind. He ended up with Jaina, Thrall and Malfurion.

no he is talking about jaina. the guardian already had plans to move the horde and the humans to kalimdore. he knew thrall would not fail him. but after the king blew him off he tried for Arthas. then the task fell to jaina who passed the test.

i love warcraft storyline and its lore but i wouldnt go that far lol LOTR is one of the best fantasty storys ever. i mean if there was no lotr WoW would be much diffrent then it is today. lotr is more well thought out and has much more to it trust me go read the similrillion (its like the history of LOTR what happend before lotr took place) its so well thought out and so much detail you dont remember half the name in it lol good book tho dont get me wrong tho blizzard did a good job
