  • Matt proves Britain had talent,wish we still did

  • Have no words, just thanks!

  • Matt Munro will always be held with special regards over here in England, he had such a pure voice and made it from his humble beginnings as a working class lad. he was and remained true to his roots. His amazing voice raised him up to heights he could never have imagined. The impossible dream !

  • ♥ .

  • brilliant, no other word.

  • Great voice, no comparison really with any of his contemporaries, but at times he had that Anthony Newley feel about it with the velvet of Andy Williams. Unique.

  • I've listened to all of them one after the other singing this song & without question MM's version is the greatest. His voice in all of his songs are velvety & smooth. The best by far.

  • Heard that Matt was driving his double decker out of Shepherd's Bush garage when he heard that Portrait of my Love had made it into the charts. They had to find another driver. He was gone and he had arrived at the same time.

  • In one word BRILLIANT !!!

  • absolute legend.!! no question.!!

  • Y MI DULCNIEA, ¿ DONDE ESTARÁ?

  • Ez a La Mancha Lovagjának az egyik betét dala.Nagyon szép.

  • The singers singer, Sinatra said why do I try , Matt was the Man what a voice

  • frank sinatra was once asked who he thought had the best voice in the world,...... his reply? Matt Munro....

  • all i can say [ legend

  • BUT WHOS THE ORIGINAL SINGER OF THIS WONDERFUL SONG?

  • @MrPuklong it may have been sammy davis junior but dont quote me on that :P

  • ''working class hero''

  • Absolutely wonderful.

  • Life is an impossible dream

  • How wonderful you found us with a paradox! We now have some hope of progress.

  • Perhaps, the best version of this song ever recorded. MM sings this song as it was intended. The song is not intended as some big "show stopper" of a song. Unfortunately, almost every other singer wants to overdo this song. Other singers, over sing it, the arrangements and orchestrations are bombastic, and filled with long held, and bellowing notes. MM's version is subtle, understated, and true in its intention, which makes it, by far, more powerful and effective than any other rendition.

  • BBQFanNo1,

    You are spot on, compared to Matt Monro the rest don't even come close !

    Impossible Dream = Matt Monro

    No Contest !

  • God has this in his iPod :D

  • Matt Monro was a fantastic singer and had a wonderfull voice. I much prefered him than Frank Sinatra.

  • I understand that Sinatra maintained that Matt Monro had the greatest voice....and who could argue with him? It's a shame that he didn't attain the same heights as Sinatra.

  • SINATRA'S VERSION BLOWS THEM ALL AWAY...........

  • @takedown11510 Sinatra's is the best. I like even Elvis Presley and Andy Williams versions better.

  • impossible dream my garduation song

  • the absolute best singer of all time

  • @rurimino I just like the whole style of the song. Had it not been for the Honda advert resurrecting the tune i doubt if i would have searched youtube for it. The music adds weight to the excellent wording and makes it a very inspirational song indeed. As for which version. AW or MM. Today I'll choose MM. Ask me in a few months and i may choose AW.. :O)

  • Thank You.

  • great song........it will last forever, this is the only song that last forever, without having high pitch vocal

  • Like this tunieee. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this the soundtrack to the new Honda advert. (top marks to the admen)

  • @0208name - The version in the Honda ad is the Andy Williams recording which is (in my opinion) a fine, fine song.....

  • @Kr1s250c2 - Yes you are right and thanks for that – The advert has used the Andy Williams version- I’m not sure if the Andy Williams version has the edge over Matt Monroe (maybe AW a tad but it depends on my day I guess)- But… they are both great replicas from the story of Don Quixote (please correct me if I have that wrong).

    At the end of the day it’s a very inspirational song that deserves to be brought out again (and again).. I still give top marks to the advertising agency and AW & MM

  • It's a question of delicacy and precision over a homegrown and familiar American sound which Williams does impeccability. If the song is to truly touch you and mean something which do you prefer?

  • This song are better with Supremes and Temptation, listen...

    Don Christer...but I like Matt Monroe so much.

  • brilliant singer and 1st class human being. i met him when i delivered his papers in early sixties. sunday mirror......always had collar and tie and blue cardigan.............always gave me a decent xmas box!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The best!

  • One of may truly favorite songs in the world! Matt Monro does it justice beyond words! What a voice!!! I am a new fan so having all these videso on YouTube has been wonderful for rme! I can't seem to get enough of Matt Monro!!! Thanks for sharing this with all of us and keeping his music alive!

  • better then the andy williams version, better arrangment n tempo n singer!

  • It's fantastic to hear an incredible singer. Especially as you can understand every word, and there's no talk of guns, drugs, sex or using each other. Whats happened to great music

  • @lorrainesophiad: 'Appreciated by Elvis'... Hmmm? I would reckon that to be a fairly dubious accolade. Don't get me wrong - I love Elvis, but...

    That's like Rod Laver being appreciated by Buster Mottram;

    Like The Queen being appreciated by Margaret Trudeau;

    Like Scotch Whisky being appreciated by meth-spirits;

    Like a diamond being appreciated by a glass-cutter;

    Like a bull being appreciated by a sheep;

    Like Pele being appreciated by David bekam; (that's a good one)

    Like Matt Munro being..

  • fantastic song fantastic music fantastic lyrics fantastic singer

  • the impossible dream.

  • This man had the best pronunciation of any singer ever. He was appreciated by both Frank Sinatra and Elvis. Really underrrated.

  • very beautiful! thanks for uploading =)

  • incredible voice,amazing thanks
