Shoe Tips : How to Use Shoe Polish to Color Leather Shoes

Is it ok if you please submit how to work with leather materials when making anything? I don't have a huge industrial sewing machine and from what I am aware of - I cannot sew into leather with mine. Any advice tips or videos would be awesome and highly appreciated. I am also a fashion designer - Trying to make a jacket and some boots at the moment and not able to proceed cause I never worked with leather before.
