They look like Norway Spruce to me. They are abundant and grow very quickly. Many burn in forest fires every year and those that don't normally get made into shit wardrobes for IKEA. If I was a Norway Spruce I would rather be made into art.
@mccarrpo Keep it in perspective. At the time we didn't consider trees to be self aware beings. They were just firewood, or targets, or deer stands, or lumber, or whatever the hell you wanted them to be.
