To me the biggest difference between Liam and Noel singing this song is that Liam sings it as a provocation, in a vindicative or show off posture,like "Yeah! what you say now?in your face, man!"...While Noel sings it softly, like remembering someone with affection, and I think that's how the song was intended to be sung. "You're gonna be the one that saves me", you can't really sing that as if you were fighting or showing your superiority. Noel sings it with fitting vulnerability.
I don't think Liam has got the better voice! I think (!!!but that's my opinion!!!) Noel has the better voice and is the better singer! This Song is just one of the best songs (in the original) which are sang by Liam!

Been an oasis fan for many years and always loved Noel versions of most songs and never thought i would hear better version of this then the unplugged session when Liam went AWOL but this is simply beautiful. totally how i imagime he heard it in his head when he wrote it. Not totally sure but is he playing it in 3rd fret as well? Either way fantastic.

Been an oasis fan for many years and always loved Noel versions of most songs and never thought i would hear better version of this then the unplugged session when Liam went AWOL but this is simply beautiful. totally how i imagime he heard it in his head when he wrote it. Not totally sure but is he playing it in 3rd fret as well? Either way fantastic.

This seems a lot different to the Ryan Adams version to me...
Or maybe that's just me, I'm not sure. It's slower like Ryan Adam's version but with different guitar work though it just doesn't have the same feeling at all.
Ryan threw it back to Noel and he changed it more, I think.

t0nner- why do people like you have to make everything into a competition? First of all, Ryan Adams first played his version in 2001. Second, Noel LOVES his version, and has been quoted as saying something to the effect of 'I thank him for giving that song back to me' since he didn't like playing it as an anthem following his divorce. You'd probably know that if you were actually an Oasis fan.

Believe you me, It is the Ryan Adam's version - Adams first started playing it in 01 and released it in 04. That's perhaps where you've got the idea that he wasn't playing it before that from.

I always thought his versions were far superior to Liam's. He wrote this song, and it was highly personal. I remember hearing him sing this at the Free Tibet concert and Unplugged.
