@Telltaleheart79 There are 3 types of laws in the old testament. Civil, moral, and ceremonial. Ceremonial laws (garments/shellfish/unclean meats/ weird rules for priests) are all ceremonial laws. Ceremonial Laws were obsolete because of Christ manifestation and dying on the cross. Homosexuality falls under moral law.

Nature proves that a man and a woman belong together, hence sexual reproductive organs. @Telltaleheart79 There are 3 types of laws in the old testament. Civil, moral, and ceremonial. Ceremonial laws (garments/shellfish/unclean meats/ weird rules for priests) are all ceremonial laws. Ceremonial Laws were obsolete because of Christ manifestation and dying on the cross. Homosexuality falls under moral law.

God aside, from the view of nature itself homosexuality is a flaw. @allsaintsmonastery Prolife means that you honor Christ b/c He is Life. There is NO life in homosexuality; in fact, it prevents life from ever happening. Everything about that lifestyle leads to death. Look at it: no life can EVER come from it; people hide "in the closet" about it; people take others' lives due to it (HIV/AIDS, anal cancer); people take their own lives due to it. There is NO life in homosexuality, so no, people who practice it and support are most definitely not "prolife."

Mr. Tutu is attempting, like most folks, to think for God. "God wouldn't do this...God wouldn't do that." Let's look at what God has done, and let God think for Himself. He destroyed Sodom/Gomorrah b/c of homosexuality. He destroyed the entire world b/c of sin. Race/gender have no part in this conversation, as you don't choose either. If you knowingly and repeatedly sin without any remorse or repentence then you will go to hell. It is that simple. All of us have battles with sin. Including myself. But I try very hard to control my sinful desires. Sometimes I fail but at least I make a strong effort and do not make an excuse that I can rely upon John 3:16 to keep from going to hell. James 2:18-20.

Being born black or white or male or female is NOT the same as being gay. Your race and gender don't describe a lifestyle. This Tutu guy is giving a false analogy. God measures the human heart and that is where fault is found -- not in the physical body. Can you choose to be a certain race -- no. Can you choose to sleep with/marry same sex -- yes.

He implied God wouldn't unjustly punish for something like race - which is true because there isn't a choice to made when it comes to race. As for the word "homosexuality," you are right. However, the actions of homosexuality were described and equally condemned.
God commands us to love others w/our actions, so it's the right thing to do. However, God's Word will NEVER change. He is unequivocally clear about His feelings toward homosexuality. No level of human emotion/sympathy will change that. It is wrong, &the penalty is inescapable.

It was their desire to have sex with these other men and b/c of their desires, God was saddened by their wicked hearts. The book of 1 Corin. tells us that people engaged in homosexual acts but repented and turned from their wicked ways. God can heal from this if you are truly open.

Nature proves that a man and a woman belong together, hence sexual reproductive organs. When a person believes or holds a thought that he or she should be romantically involved with a person of the same sex - something that is inherently against nature - then that person is experiencing a delusion.

Having your organs removed was not by nature but, rather, a medical necessity. It would be the same as saying that a person who was born without a lung is experiencing what is natural. This simply is not the case. So, no, you having your organs removed is not what dictates your sex or natural sexual affinities.

Do you think that perhaps these terms describe characteristics, rather than genders? In the Bishops and Geneva Bibles (1500s), it names a buggerer, which is not a gender, but rather a male who engages in anal sex.
Ultimately, to call these genders, these people must have distinct chromosomes. What are each of their sets of chromosomes?

Do you really believe God created you just to destroy you? Do believe God would punish you for something that he already died on the cross for. All other aspects of creation MUST worship God; however, there is no relationship if you FORCE something to love you. God wants a relationship with us. He wants us to "freely" choose Him b/c He created us; He loves us; and He died for us so we could have unblemished fellowship with Him - a holy God. So the purpose of free will is NOT so that we run around unbridled and without boundaries.

That is a flaw of magnificent proportions because you make yourself an idol. And the God Who created this world competes with NO idols.

We learn of Him by reading His Word. The true, living God isn't a motivation for hate crimes toward homosexuals b/c He said that we're to love each other as we love ourselves. Love gives truth.
You make yourself into an idol when you place yourself - your standards - above God. Anything you place above God is an idol.

@ComoEstas15 OH, and I basically HAVE driven myself mad with the 10000000 different ways to interpret the Bible. It's frustrating!!! At the end of the day, the pure truth comes from the big picture. I had to eventually learn to stop wondering about the little things and focus on the message Jesus delivered. Love one another! :)

@ComoEstas15 I totally agree with you on the interpretations thing...everybody has a different idea on what it says. As for only trusting the original, I have to disagree. In my opinion, the beauty of the Bible is how it evolves through the ages. It was guided by the Holy Spirit at the time it was written, and continues to be guided today! At one point, the Church used the Bible to discriminate against blacks; but we evolved (and are still evolving).

If Jesus was accepting of homosexuality, why would he say in in Matthew 11:23"And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in SODOM, it would have remained until this day". So in other words, if the Sodomites were righteous, they would not be destroyed. The practise of "homosexuality" is described in Leviticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.”
