I really like Kimber's style. Her instrucional vids are very helpful. I never saw a 7 veil dance before and this was beautiful. Please Kimber, consider re-doing this dance in a better environment---I can't believe those men walked in front of the camera.

It was my going away party (me sitting in the chair) and the performer (kimber) is a very dear friend and very creative dancer. This was a completely impromptu dance but very enjoyable, thank you kimber
I agree with QueenIshtar, I believe, that we should appreciate originality and creativity, there are no real right & wrongs, and there are too many haters out there... live & let live and appreciate the differences for a change - would be terribly boring if we were all doing the same thing.... I loved your 7 veil dance for the birthday function... :-)
That is far from beeing bellydance SPECIALLY the dance of the seven veils because it demands right colors of veils and a right way to tie it. Only because someone wraps around in veils it doesn´t mean she can bellydance, plus that´s one of the most horrible arm movements i´ve seen. It´s not beeing mean, im just tired of ppl making a distortion of bellydance like that.
I wasn´t talking about the hollywood version but the traditional. The traditional was perfmormed by isis priestes and its not like that, its a ritualistic dance. And the bellydancing is rough.
Leave her alone, she seems like a nice person and her dancing is entertaining. You closed minded types can only look at what's wrong. I feel she was naturally connecting with the Goddess. Seven veils is a ritual to Ishtar not Isis. Do the research before you start bitching.
actually the dance of the 7 veils was taken from the Salome dancing for king herod from the old testament bible... hollywood in the early 1900s made a dance out of it for entertainment. however, we mix it up with Ishtar & her decent to the underworld & use veils for that portrayal instead of the 7 items she used. Anyway this lady is creative & original that is what counts
I meant "movie entertainment" in general. belly dancers are not strippers, they do not take their clothing off. it is movies like that give the wrong impression of what belly dancing is. Im sure the movie was execellent, just misinforming.
Your videos are all great, but one thing that sorta bothered me about this performance is that you are chit chatting in the middle of it....kinda takes the mystery out of the dance...just a suggestion.

I saw a movie by Carlos Caura called "Salome". Very authentic. When the girl performed this dance, she took off EVERYTHING.

lately i have been listening to Belly Dancing Super Stars. there are a few cds out there. lots of variety
if you have itunes.. do a search for bellydance or middle eastern, you get to listen to a clip before you buy
