The opening scene got me to talk with my opthamologist. I asked him whether a visual inspection as Doc Martin did on the airplane and later could possible diagnose "acute glaucoma." He and his associate said absloutely not!
I respect much medical science on Doc Martin, but this one they got wrong.

I dont think it was a certain diagnosis. He did ask her questions about possible symptoms, she said she had them and therefore the most likely cause was glaucoma, which is why he told her to get checked out.
