  • Go Mclaren! :(

  • SHOULD HAVE CUT AND WAITED FOR THE WHIRLY BIRD?

  • with regard to flywheel kers, you are correct in saying batteries are a heavier option but the flywheel tech is more complex when it comes to design, safety and ensuring the flywheel is balanced so you dont get centerfugal forces when the car changes direction, i believe williams are combining the flywheel with the motor generator, this makes it even more compact and keeps down on weight. i dont think the kers should be limits to one push per lap but use it as much as the tech will allow.

  • @kingjimsixsix5 - Excellent comment mate re: centrifugal force, I'd not thought of having to manage that. It's a tricky one for the engineers to get right. Personally, I'd rather it be done away with but no-one ever listens to me (probably with good reason!)

  • @F1Podcast cheers max, well i did my engineering masters thesis on kinetic energy recover systems so i have a soft spot for them. i think if the teams are not limited in their use then they will exploit the technology to its maximum potential and push it forward, making KERS of more benefit for road cars. it should not be a gimmick on the f1 car "push to pass" but compliment the power from the engine, if that was the case then i think you would be more for KERS in F1.

  • @kingjimsixsix5 - you're right, I would be more in favour if KERS wasn't 'push to pass'. Technology wise, it's very clever and I see great benefits in a commercial respect. In F1 terms, I see it as artificial and a sad indictment on the design of many circuits whereby the constructors are held responsible for a track's shortcomings. Same goes for moveable rear wings. Just my opinion.

  • great helmet max hope you enjoy it

  • @scotty12012 - Cheers Scotty. Been wearing it to bed.... missus isn't to happy when I go to kiss her goodnight though. Oh well, she'll get used to it :)

  • Nice helmet

  • Yes, design-wise that McLaren is a work of art, truly.

  • Yeah I am loving that Williams gearbox as well. Looking forward to seeing Williams launch its livery tomorrow on their website. From what I have heard Williams are quietly confident.

  • Don't forget that Webber showed last year how well he can nurse even a soft compound tire. Awesome helmet btw. Are you gonna wear it when you race F1 2010? : )

  • @Garrison64 - Has Pinocchio got a wooden dick?! Damn right I'll be wearing it!!!!

  • @F1Podcast ha ha I would too. It looks awesome.

  • @F1Podcast LMAO. Ur subs DESERVE a little video of that. LOL

  • Williams looks the same? from the front maybe, but its the rear end package thats aggressive, i'm surprised you guys couldn't pick up on that. That rear gearbox is insane, and the angle of the driveshaft is crazy!

  • @Darkwalker1990 - yep, good point. Lets hope Rubens can exploit it to it's full potential. I'm really hoping Williams shake things up this year.

  • @F1Podcast yup, I'm hoping for a few podiums and if a bit of luck is on their side, a win.

  • Nice helmet Max. Considering a no design F1 Arai helmet starts at around $5000US. $500US is a steal for the quality of Fanstore replica helmets.

Wish we could buy replicas of Villeneuve's wife, Johanna. oh oh oh!

  • @jerryjoe88 - I'd like a replica of Jacques bank account. (Pep)

  • @jerryjoe88 - I'm hearin' you brother...grrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • I'm glad that the ridiculous two bumps near the front suspension arms are gone. Looked hideous. The noses are now a lot more sleek than last year. But that's practically the only difference, lol.
