  • you dumped these on your counter? you'll never get rid of them!

  • wish i had that many in my tank right now.... froglets would be very happy

  • I found one of these on my bed. I'm not sure if it was a flea or one of these Springtails, but it was definitely as small as these!

    HELP!

  • @iwantoloveme If you have pets, it may be fleas--but if you're not experiencing bites, it could have been a springtail. Springtails love high humidity and moisture and generally come in from outside--so try not to water plants too much around the house or have too much mulch against the house. If it's usually dry around the house outside, you may an internal moisture problem (but not necessarily).

  • are springtails harmful?

  • @Shakeitupyes They're considered merely a nuisance pest. They do not bite. We have seen some serious infestations in homes, however, in which they drive people crazy simply because of their large numbers.

  • @WhitworthPest I see, thanks! I found some on my plants and was worried, then I found a video of them up close and I think they're really cute up close which is odd probably to most people. I can kill fungus gnats, fleas, mosquitoes with ease but killing these just seems wrong now that I saw them up close and know they're harmless. I'm a wuss ;)

  • @WhitworthPest This is going to sound weird... But how do you "attract" springtails? I need to get a "culture"(breeding colony) going so I can feed some tadpoles that will morph into little toads.

  • @Dimunic You may be able to "attract" springtails by having areas outside that are predominantly wet and rarely dry out--then go hunting. I do not know how to breed them or even if it's possible.

  • @WhitworthPest Ahh. My whole yard gets completely wet....But ill try keeping a rubbermaid that's extremely large and put some compost in it and keep it wet. lol. Maybe they'll go for it?

  • If I were you, I would have just sprayed them with a huge can of raid. They could have been laying eggs while you filmed this.

  • @rubinoos1 Thanks for viewing. Don't worry--we took care of them quickly after the very short video we took!

  • SWEET

  • why would you do that??
