  • i agree nmount!

  • @nmout Thank you very much. I like this version much better as well and yeah you just cannot find this version anywhere, I search high and low for it online and never did find it so I just got a wild hair up my butt one day and said I bet there are others out there that LOVE this version, but cannot get their hands on it ;). So you all are very much welcome :). I do happen to like the Ronettes version too, use to not, but it reminds me of Dirty Dancing now XD.

  • good job natashag1985

I was searching for it and the original from The Ronettes was not as good

  • Well done! Ellie is right up there with Carole King as the greatest female songwriters! But Ellie was just an unknown to so many people.

  • What a lovely version :)

  • I LOVE THIS - I've looked for this song for forever!! If you ever do this again, would you please do the song at the end of Liar's Moon? Forever is the name and it is as rare as this one! IF I knew how to transer from the TV to computer, I'd be set - but I dont. :)

Thanks again - I absolutely love this song!

  • @Lisa50315 Sure I can do that if I can find the movie as well. It's pretty easy to record movie to sound if you download Audacity and pop in a movie or download it.. Really easy to do, just look up a tutorial for it, they explain it, and I totally forgot how to do it haha.

  • Thank you so much for doing this - I LOVE this song and have been looking for it forever!!!. If you ever do this again, could you PLEASE do the same for the song at the end of Liar's Moon too? It's called Forever by Jann Brown (written by Ray Benson). I've been looking for it for over 20 yearrs!

  • Juliaflo - They tried that back in the mid-80s, staging "Leader of The Pack - The Ellie Greenwich Musical." I'm not sure how long it lasted. I have a cassette tape of the cast recording produced by Ellie and her good friend (and Four Seasons hit-maker) Bob Crewe. It's probably still available somewhere on CD.

  • where can i find the lyric please

  • Where can I buy this song???

  • @ariniballetten The track is off a wonderful album by Ellie Greenwich called ''Let it Be Written, Let it Be Sung". On it she sings all the songs she wrote in the early 60's for others. As far as I know it is only availablesecond hand on vinyl. Perhaps we should petition the record company to release a CD of it.

  • @ellbeeuu The album was reissued on CD some 10 years ago and is readily available on the used market, and the song was also issued on at least one Greenwich comp that also is easy to find. You just gotta look.

  • @ariniballetten The song is off a wonderful album called "Let It Be Written, Let It Be Sung" which was released in the early 70's. On the album, Ellie sings all the old songs that she wrote in the early 60's for other artists. As far as I know, it is only available second hand on vinyl. The playlist includes "River Deep, Mountain High", "Wait Till My Bobby Gets Home", And Then He Kissed Me", "I Can Hear Music" and "Today I Met The Boy I'm Gonna' Marry.

  • enjoyed it. Thx

  • You're very welcome! ^_^

  • Those of you who want the songs of Ellie Greenwich staged as a musical revue on Broadway (like those of Leiber and Stoller), raise your hand.

  • RIP Ellie Greenwich

  • That leaves Carole King as one of the female singer-songwriters of the old period. (Laura Nyro and Linda Creed are in songwriting heaven to welcome Miss Greenwich).

My bad--I believe we still have Cynthia Weil and Valerie Simpson.

Dianne Warren is a little more recent.

  • I LOVE Dianne Warren songs. Their usually love songs I think. Leann Rimes does a lot of her stuff. But still a great writer.

    Ellie will be truley missed!

  • The misses Rimes and Yearwood did their individual renditions of Miss Warren's haunting 'How Do I Live', from the movie ConAir. (The song should have won the Oscar Best Song, but that other one won it.)

  • It was a beautiful song indeed!! I loved LeAnn's version best though, she can hit those high notes and still give me cold chills! It should have won I agree! Hopefully Miss Warren will some day get an award for the outstanding work she's done.

  • I didn't know Ellie passed away Y_Y. This song will always be my favorite one she did.

  • lol, strange but pretty version of the song

  • yeah it was a pretty version. I looked for this song everywhere but had to just record it from dvd from audacity so I'd have it..:)

  • well thanks for sharing :) is this a nice movie, by the way? xD

  • yeah it's a really good cheesey 80's teen flick called For Keeps. I bought it quite a few years ago cause I remember watching it when I was real little and still love it. So I do recommend trying it out. Someone did post that movie on here. It's in parts which isn't too bad. :) Give it a try. It's bout two teenage parents.
