Thanks for posting. I had never really thought about being a disenfranchised atheist. To his point, I never considered that there are Americans to intimidated to "come out." Even in the Bay Area of California, people still take a step back when you tell them that you are an atheist. They ask "why so harsh" or "why so strident"? And culturally I am a Catholic, Irish-Italian. These are not easy chains to break. Thank heavens for people leading the charge like Dawkins! I feel comforted! ;)
