  • looks like a very cool/fun weekend project but i wouldn't attempt it lol

  • does this afect hoy it moves

  • sick

  • cant find the pdf tutorial

can you give me a link of the diagram on how to connect the wire on the motherboard.. thank you

  • why cant u go play out side unsted of fucking up ur xbox remote? xD

  • Wowo great work! Please, make the link working cause we want to try it! :)

  • when i clicked on this vid i was listining to z100 and they were playing this song

  • how'd you get the clear thumbsticks?

  • How?! I wanna know how to put leds is my controller really bad.

  • achievement unlocked, infinite virginity

  • @MrRanaVenenosa achievement unlocked, been a cunt over the internet!

  • song???

  • @ps2speler OneRepublic, Secrets

  • Good tut. I'm going to do this but I'm putting ps3 sticks on my controller, so im thinking im going to have to shave down the mushroom dome on the ps3 sticks because it might hit the led. On top of that im lighting up the dome and a,b,x,y buttons. What MCD rating do the led's your using have? I'm thinking about 3000 should be good, but i dont want it to be blindingly bright. I'm also not sure if im going to have enough space for a big enough resistor, but we will see after its all done.

  • If I were you, while you have that soldering gun out, go to your local radioshack and pick up a few small box led's and replace the default green ones for player indicator, that was the first mod I did to my controller (other than a botched rapid fire attempt) and it looks great.

  • (CONT) knowledge on how to do so. For instance the 9mm buttons i'm doing i will be using a code that is available on acidmods which allows you to have the abxy buttons either a solid lit state or in different flashing states. There are pre-made programs out there for doing simply solid state lights using a pic chip so that all you have to do is press the sync button instead of removing your battery pack everytime. All of this information aside you have a great taste in style. Keep at it :D

  • In addition to my other post. I'm currently working on a controller with a custom lit chatpad custom ring of light, throwing leds under the thumbsticks and doing 9mm abxy's with leds in the primer pin hole. I have previously done rumble leds in the xbox dome. One thing that i will stress when you do LEDS of any type on your controller is program a pic chip to power them so you dont drain your batteries or have to disconnect them every time. Pic chips are cheap and easy to program with little

  • Controller looks really good. There are a few tricks with the wires that can be used, firstly the places where you will find the most room with the least amount of trouble is route them down by your rumble motors(the room in this area isnt that vital as they are trying to house the rumble motors. If you find that you are having alot of issues doing this use 30ga wire, soldering 30ga wire can be difficult but better in the overall.

  • @drumline064 really helped me thank you

  • Those wires look super thick?

  • @sammysososa yeah I did this project with what I had in the house.... ideally I would have used a brand new controller (not an already used one from eBay as in this TUT), and I would have purchased thin wire, stronger solder and did better work with the led placement.

  • @drumline064 ohh ok, just wondering!

  • thats awesome

  • @drumline064

the link in the description didnt work, do you have a different link?

  • alright video but great song

  • sooooooooo.... How's about those batteries right about now?

  • once i modded my xbox to make the green ring red...

  • i like the song ^.^

  • sorry forgot, i mention that because you said your using 220Ohm, that means (unless you have 2 in series) that LED will burn out in a few months. (ran out of chars). This is all stuff you slowly learn the more you jump into electronics! Enjoy!

  • One last note :D If those are standard LEDs (they look to be) I know you used 220 Ohm resistors and that remote is nothing but USB so I assume same 5v USB power supply. A 'standard' LED (loosely standard :P) we are looking at I think 2v??? forward drop v and about 10mA amperate desired, so power - drop / amp standard OHM calculation ratio a ~300Ohm (Or more, the more the dimmer) should be used. thats for 1 LED. For 2 in series (more light) 100 should be used. 2 should be max. more not needed.

  • I just love it! I have been doing electronics for a long time now. I love seeing these small independent, did it myself, electronic mods. I know you stood back for a minute in awww of your new creation and its just great that more and more people are stepping into the electronics world. The possibilities are endless. Great job and keep hacking away :D

  • commentary?

  • you do know led voltages have absolutely nothing to do with color, right?

  • @billsmith658 Actually, different colors have different forward-voltage. Red typically has a forward voltage of 1.8, but as light frequency increases, so does voltage drop. Blue led's may drop around 3.3v.

  • When i get the parts needed I'mma give this a go thanks dude! :)

  • it look easy to me thankx for showing the tutorail bro thumbs up on this

  • how did you get the white anolog stick pads?

  • @TheDoodv2 extreme-mods

  • Where can I get the conductive "saudering" gel you used?

  • @drumline064 Any chance of an upload of the PDF? It's still down at the site and I can't find it anywhere. Thanks!

  • ..... your first ? I have make my first and is really hard when you have never do this ..... but the result is really sick

  • it looks cooler when the leds flicker when u start it up.

  • what size LEDs are you using?

  • This was not at all interesting. I want my money back.

  • upload a saved copy or send me the download link. cheers

  • I really need someones help..so I put two led's in with the resistors and all. Screwed the controller back together, heard a snap..opened it back up. One of the resistors had snapped in half. Now whenever I put the battery pack in, the circut board heats up and no power goes to the controller (RoL lights, or LED's)..I really need someones help/advice

    !

  • that sturtup looked so ill i wish dat was my remote

  • thanx dude

  • @888ExtremeKilleR888 loook up toxicraven117 on here he sells them

  • all i want to know is. where did u get those thumb sticks. i can find clear. but what about the white caps...?

  • lol hey bro if i sent one would do my leds

  • what type of leds did you use? were they SMD's?

  • Where did you get the thumb sticks?

  • this was a tutorial?

  • is this with anytype of xbox controler?

  • hear me and tell me the name entered the music please

  • the tut on the page isn't there please help

  • You should getter a nother but better lighted video cuz i cant tell where ur soldering the resistors and wires on the motherbored ^^

  • @xMACCAZ me made it dumbass

  • Good TUT bru! Answered all my questions:)

  • where did you get the half transparent thumbsticks?

  • may contain flashing images

  • whats with the random hole under the D-pad?

  • That looks sexy ;)

  • Good song.

  • te kedo muy chulo

  • can u do a tutorial for ps3 aswel :D

  • This tutorial Fucking sucks

  • @slasz76708

Give it a try and let me know how yours turns out asshole.

  • @drumline064 ok just saying you could get rid of the music and actually talk? and show us instead of diagrams and i bet i could its not hard

  • @drumline064 can u make me 1 for free :( i recked it and now i cant play my xbox i just watch the dash bord idk how i did but i managed

  • @drumline064 good soldering. and the shrink tube gives it that professional look. haha slasz76708 probably doesnt even know how to solder

  • @420smokindaily oh and did u use a voltmeter? wouldve took your time down considerably, possibly even cut out the need for a wiring diagram. always a good idea to have one tho.

  • @drumline064 i did it turned out great

  • @drumline064 funny

  • @drumline064 Why you no tell us where to solder on motherboard?

  • @slasz76708

i agree, maybe instead of pumping shitty music through my speakers the op couldve just sat down and went step by step with what to do.

  • @slasz76708 Maybe cuz you dont know shit goto college and take classed dumb fuck

  • @slasz76708 You SUCK DICK

  • How many OHM is the resistors?

  • @SaLvageClan 220 ohm

  • i want this on christmas to make my day better... nice decoration

  • Easiest mod in the world. Good job mate. Thanks for the help.

  • Hei, I was wondering if you could open your controller and show us how it looks like inside, especially the soldering places, you dont have have to brake apart anything, we want just want to compare, it would be easier.

  • @888ExtremeKilleR888 i know where to get it type this on ebay (Xbox 360 Analog Thumbstick Lighting Kit LED Mod Stick) its not too expensive hope this helps.

  • how much more battery power does this consume?

  • All i want to know is WHERE do i solder the resistor /capacitors etc - NO ONE seems to show this on any vid that i can find, so help appreciated.

  • Comment removed

  • @Zace66 On the led you want to solder the resistor on what ever side (negative) or (positive) and continue on with that curcuit

  • @Zace66 Look up the power points for the controller, then find one to use and connect the positive to the power and the negative to the ground. Put the resistor on the positive side before the led or led chain.

  • @Zace66 capacitors? Take a multi-meter a probe the input lines from the connector into the controller. I dont own a 360 myself. but you should find 5v and ground. Connect the LEDs straight to those lines. Note the 'Anode' (google LED anode) is for 5v and other is ground. the resistor it doesnt matter where you put it. its not polarized.

  • pdf link doesn't work, please upload an alternative file :)

  • Comment removed

  • @darkfighter7143 never mind, i understood how you put all together, but i have a question, i understand that you used a transistor so the lights switch on/off with the controller, right? what kind of transistor did u used???

  • howed you get clear thumbsticks?

  • @BboyXSlide

they sell set's on ebay pal hope this helped

  • @888ExtremeKilleR888 check out gaming mods mate :) or imagine costums :P promods btw

  • @888ExtremeKilleR888 I'm not sure of any specific sites that will do it for you... now that I have done it once I am confident I could do it better (error proof) the second time. (finding the time to do so is the tricky part) - What I am saying is, in a couple months, if you would still like to get one like the one I have in this video, I could possibly make one and sell it to you.

  • @drumline064 for how much would you sell one of this but with the new black control (the one with crome) and would you ship to Mexico ?

  • @drumline064 where do u soder the wires to powe up the buttons

  • What are you using 3mm LED lights or 5mm LED lights?

  • @0MCGS0 3mm

  • Hes just a made Sony fag.

  • @brokenroses22 What?

  • @drumline064 He just made Sony ps3s, look homosexual.

  • that shit only fucks the battery faster!!

  • @vivamexicochemo You obviously don't know how much power it takes to light a single LED...

  • @StillSpy hahaha Looks like I know more about electronics than you... I know that you can light even 15 LEDs with only 1.5 volts dude... anyway that keeps fucking the battery faster dumbass

  • @vivamexicochemo 2 leds aint gonna do nothing to your battery yeh the battery might not last as long by only a few hours but them leds are nothing

  • @kinstar I agree with that

  • were did u get the clear thumbsticks?

  • im trying to find the leds he used...

  • @WeArePCM 5mm LEDs. Go to newdogaming . com and work out a deal with him, he sells all sorts of xbox 360 modding stuff

  • how did u get them to turn on with the controller

  • i need to find some with the white tips but i can only find 100% clear

  • Nice mod and video!

  • hey, if u use a smaller wire it wont take 40 minutes to close.

  • Anyway you could upload a step by step tutorial, while talking us through it not just written word??

  • That controller looks really cool i do not know much about modding controllers but i know people who buy them so it would be cool to see them use one of these id like to use it myself this controller looks amazing! wow ur really lucky

  • awesome.

  • great song

  • so were are you geting your power source from?

  • @UNBOUNDxBOOM Omfg, batteries maybe?

  • @Antonypacman dick head!

  • where did you get those thumbstick that are clear on the bottom but white on the top cause the ones on my controller are all white

  • @MNmodz if you look closly he cut the bottom off its not clear

  • @defianceunstable oh. well its okay cause i found some with with clear bottom anyway there on order now.

  • @defianceunstable No, I didn't cut the bottom off. The thumbsticks are clear on the bottom and white tipped. I just found them on eBay. Thats how they were made, clear and white, not all white, and I did not cut them, that would ruin the function of the thumbsticks all together.

  • can you put the pdf on a vid or give them to me plz

  • the 1 dislike he must be ginger

  • Where did you get your sticks?

  • Fuckin tuneage! i <3 this song so much! and thanks shame you couldnt talk us through

  • @jaappleby You sir have a great taste of music =)

  • @bicjordan23 haha thank you!

  • Do the thumbsticks HAVE to be clear?

  • epic...

  • where did you get the thumbsticks? I have been looking everywhere for thumbsticks like yours that have clear bases and solid colored tops, but i cant find any.

  • @empleh949 There's a guy that sells them on eBay. Just type into the search bar "Clear/white Xbox 360 Thumbsticks" and you should find them after scrolling down the page a bit.

  • can you show how you wired it up plz?? if you do i'll subscribe defo

  • Can i get that pdf please. I am currently running into some trouble cuz im also trying to light up the ABXY buttons but am not sure if the 3 volts can take it. Also do you know if a 3 volt power source will light up 3.1 or 3.2 volt LED's? thanks

  • @Culliganman14 I am still searching for the saved copy of that pdf that I had. I saved it somewhere, but have changed OS twice since then. And yes, a 3volt power source will power anything above 3 volts, its just that it may be dimmer. so if you have a 4 volt light on 3v power, you'll most likely not see the miniscule amount of light output. 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 should be ok though.

  • what is your power source

  • @KJT930 The batteries. The opposite side of the motherboard has the battery pack attached to it. there are two points on the bottom of the motherboard which is where you connect the leads for the led's.

  • i can just buy a clear cover lighted up controler 20$ at toys r us...

  • AMAZING THANK YOU! SUBSCRIBED

  • What song is this

  • @214lilRobert "Secrets" - One Republic

  • i found them on ebay

    jd_auction_warehouse

    he has different colors too

give it a thumbs up so people can see

  • Ok so were do I connect the wire to get electricity to the light??

  • @CODaholic1000 you have to connect them to the battery leads which are near the bottom center of the motherboard opposite the battery side (front face). It's kind of confusing, but if you are close to understanding what I'm talking about let me know and I can further help you.

  • @drumline064 Can u please explain me a little better on xbox live because i am leaving for europe in less thatn five days and i need to buy all the stuff soon...... so mi gamertag is AF Otto and send me a message of ur gamertag and ill show u a kinect video and ull show tell me where to connect the wires or light...

    thank u.

  • @CODaholic1000 I'll try and get on at some point when I have a chance. I apologize if I don't get back to you for a while.

  • Thanks man this helped alot! and i subscribed and liked!=p

  • @Stasis76 Thanks!

  • well done, there were a few things that could be done to make it better. try to use a smaller gauge of wire and if you can't find 3mm LEDs just dremel off the top of the LED it's self. In any case I'll be using your vid to me my own 360 modded controller. thanks...

  • @DeCrypedMonkey In retrospect, I would have done a lot of things differently haha. Smaller gauge wire is ideal; however, at the time I only had scraps lying around. Good luck with your mod though!

  • Does it work on solid white thumbsticks

  • @MrKingguyman Yes. The brightness of the led should give enough light to shine through the relatively thin plastic even if it is coated or dyed white. Try it, it would definitely look cool :)

  • What kind of LED. are they the smd 0603. just the surface mount ones that u use for the Ring of Light mod

  • @silentshadow1357 get 3mm leds.

  • @silentshadow1357 as long as you use 3mm (or relatively similar) size led's with a required voltage of <= 3v you should be fine.

  • @drumline064 ok but what are the ones with the little stems called

  • @silentshadow1357 little stems? I'm not sure I know which ones your talking about. Maybe if you can find what your talking about on google images you can send me a link so I can better answer your question. Sorry =/

  • @drumline064 well. on the LED where do you attach the wires. cause i thought there were like 2 stems on it and you attach the wire there then solder it to the controller. am i wrong. i

  • @silentshadow1357 oh yeah, there should be two stems (leads) to the led. one is positive and one is neg (or ground) the important thing is that you have the longest stem connected to the solder point opposite the battery. If you kind of know where I'm reffering to let me know and I'll try and get a picture or something to show you better when to solder the led.

  • @drumline064 so yea what is the LED with the leads on it called

  • i think this would better with a 12v smd 0603 I think I will do this tonight and load a vid up im pretty sure I can make an easier mod

  • @stevenagebenwhite go for it. make certain you understand the voltage of your setup. depending on the circuitry (parallel or series), the current draw and voltage will very. I'd assume using 12v led hookup will not work on a controller but you are free to experiment! Good luck to you
